When I connected the router I had a DOS attack. I believe that was caused by the external IP address from my ISP. Working with my ISP, we weren't able to stop the DOS attack. Second issue, I had issues with the speed coming form the routers port. The speed going into the router was 386MB but the speed coming out the ports was 15MB. I call Netgear, but their Tech support was not that great. After a few days, I removed the router and reinstalled the router provided by my ISP. The DOS attack stop because I was assigned a new external IP address. My speeds returned to 425MB into the router and out the ports.

Terrible product. Took several hours to get set up. Changes the custom passwords back to default randomly. Devices like printers have to be constantly reconnected because when they go into sleep mode they fall off the network. The app is horrible—just don’t use it.

I had high hopes for the Nighthawk, boy was I let down. I upgraded from an older Orbi system that was consistently giving me 900 download. Upgraded my xFinity to 1.2 gig and needed to upgrade router/wifi. No matter what I do I can't get more than 400. You have got to be kidding me, and the App is horrible, constantly crashes or can't find the router, speed test crashes app. Overall disgusted with the Nighthawk platform. Will be returning to BB. Just ordered the AX6000 Orbi system and hope things fair better.

DO NOT BUY! Set up was very difficult. WiFi connection would buffer & drop signal. Even with this equipment setting next to a brand new tv!!

An wonderful product with outstanding reviews.
I was sad that it was so difficult to use.
After hours of trying, plus tech calls for clues,
I learned that no one had any good news.
"It may be the unit, it may be your line",
"We just don't no why sir. Please give us more time!"
I don't have the patience and I don't know why or how,
But I suspect that the problem is probably WOW!
My provider's offshore experts don't have a clue.
If you use WOW!, then run for the hills.

Cons:
- Is vulnerable to 2017-2021 viruses on version 1.0.0 software, no updates available
- web user interface is pokey and minimal
- Android app gets stuck if there is a problem with the router or the internet, so can't debug or fix anything with it.
- gets stuck (non-responsive) every day or so with uploading 1TB size file. I have a few to do.
- Does not support SMB/CIFS > 1.0, which makes the file share feature vulnerable to WannaCry virus.
- Feature to Smart Connect 2.4 and 5 GHz bands messes up with some IoT devices, yet cannot have the same SSID for 2.4 and 5 without it.
- Request for Netgear support is well over 30 hours and still waiting.
- Cannot return to BB due to past 30 days, yet I was out of state for >2 weeks. Maybe Ebay it.
Pro: one box does everything, if nothing is broken.
