I've had my eye on this router for a few months now, and bought it on impulse, and will not regret it. Range is insane on this thing. Perfect for heavy streamers and gaming. We have about 3-4 things streaming, and 2 gaming consoles running from this with no issues. Easy to set up as well.

So far it has done every thing I expected it to. At times we have 10+ devices using the wifi. Plus we may have a movie streaming.. Everything works perfectly and there is no lag time. I have only had it a couple of weeks so if things change I will update this review.

This router was purchased to replace an old Linksys WRTG router, as well as provide maximum range for wi-fi. Easy to install using the web interface. Easy access to setting using the same router interface. This router definitely has surpassed expecations as of now.

The router came with a booklet in standard English and proceeded in a logical and coherent manner to instruct me how to set it up! I did have to call Geek Squad about a couple of steps that a youngtser would know, but a senior (me) had some difficulty with. Geeks were great and the router in combination with the modem from Arris is working great. The more I learn how to stream and search for products and deals, the more free I become from rigid ISP plans.

I bought this router to upgrade my old WNDR 3400. The set up was incredibly simple using the Netgear Genie, and the range now covers all of my 2 story house without problems. When using the 5Ghz band, my download speeds have been 80+Mbbps, which is double what I was getting with my last router. I haven't tried the "airplay" option to see how that works for my iPhone, but would highly recommend this router especially if you can get it on sale

This Netgear router was super easy to set up and the Genie installation software program just walked me right through the installation. My previous router was a Linksys EA6500. The Netgear AC 1900 is a vast improvement in speed and range. Great job, Best Buy and Netgear !!!

I only found out after we purchased this router that it was considered a "gamer router" but we immediately recognized the difference between this and our old router we purchased form Cox. Nothing gets dropped in our household anymore and buffer time has reduced significantly, in fact it's almost instantaneous (streaming movies, Pandora music, etc.).

I brought this router as an impulse buy. I went to BB looking to get a cheaper router, but after talking with the salesperson purchased this one. It can handle the bandwidth, was easy to set up, and has a great interface to control it with. Being a neophyte to these, it was very easy to work with, and I had it up and running in no time. I use the interface for diagnostics and control. All in all I am extremely pleased with this router.

Great Powerfull Open Source Router with features

Was moving from a Linksys E2000, which is a jump either way, I was mostly a Linksys person. I did like the dd-wrt firmware overall for using VPN, VLANs, etc. Knowing there was the additional community of http://myopenrouter.com/ that was in support of the netgear router set got my attention. Knowing i could go either way, stock firmware or opensource, was a major decision factor in purchasing this router.
I wanted additional features such as the USB ports, High Power wireless-N / G, faster processor, higher RAM and Gig. Even though this router had all that, I wasn't sure on the price tag. I don't regret spending the extra money on it.
I can't speak on behalf of the stock firmware. I did poke around in it before upgrading and it seemed feature rich but yet a bit unorganized. For an every day person, this firmware would get you by and allow you to use some of the extra features with ease.
I used the following dd-wrt build http://myopenrouter.com/download/dd-wrt-firmware-netgear-r7000-based-revision-27261 but there is a newer revision out there. The build "upgraded" with ease from the stock firmware. I did have one hiccup while doing my initial config where the router locked up and i had to reset but that I'm going to attribute to user error. Otherwise i'm using the NAS, OpenVPN, Wireless N - G and G guest, Firewall support, VLANs, etc. The NAS is great with 2 - 2 TB drives so far. The only complaint i have is with copying large amounts of data to the hard drives. it seems to time out at times when doing so. Not sure if a firmware issue or a drive write speed even though its 3.0.
Overall 3 months in a solid product that's running the way i want it to.

Way Better than the router from the cable company!

This leap frogs the modem/router given to us by the cable company. Every evening our wifi/internet would come down to a crawl after 7pm (I'm assuming because of internet traffic in my neighborhood). After ditching the cable company modem/router and buying our own Motorola modem and this netgear router, internet is blazing fast and you can't even detect any slowdowns, if there were any.
