Improved range and speed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My four year old router would bog down when the family was logged on and there were weak areas. This router solved all of the problems. We have a large 2-story house so getting something that could reach all areas was important. The improvement is obvious and the only limitations is the service provider.

Great as an additional wireless access point
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I configured the Nighthawk AC1900 as a WAP to include in my home network with my existing Nighthawk AC1900 that is configured as a wireless router. Setup was effortless. I set the SSID to be the same as the SSID of the router for 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Allowed the channel-id and Mode to default on both the Router and AP. My wireless devices roam through-out my home without delay when switching to or from anyone of my three Night Hawks. I have approximately 4000sq ft. of home. Good performance. I do not do any gaming; but I do stream a lot of music and video. There are no delays. Also, when configured as a router I like the ability to have VPN connectivity. I recommend the AC1900 to anyone looking a nicely price router/access point.

Great for home entertainment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I live in a neighborhood where there are upward of 30 networks. The signal is strong and plenty of channels between the dual bands. I have no problem with dropped connectivity like had with my previous router. The signal is strong enough that I do not need a repeater as I was planning to install. Streaming video on TV has worked flawlessly. We regularly use an external VPN, Streaming, surfing, mobile phone using wifi for calls and other networking simultaneously with no notice of the network slowing or dropping. I purchased the extra warranty just in case something changes. My research noted many dual band models run hot and give unpredictable service but so far after about 30 days in service no issues have shown up. Thumbs up on performance. Look is as advertised - like an F117. It's been a good unit.

Great Router!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, I would like to state that the assistance provided by your associate was very informative and helpful in selecting this router. Love this router!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I moved into my new house, I originally just rented a router through Verizon. It was absolute garbage. I own a ranch-style house, and with the router just down the hall, I had about half-strength connection in my office. Even my Smart TV that was in the very next room had only half strength connection. Needless to say, I needed something better. I purchased this router and have been so happy that I did. Instantly, even on the complete other side of the house, I had full strength signal on my laptop. My Smart TV had full strength in the next room, on both the standard 2.4 GhZ and the 5 band. I am able to be gaming on my computer while someone streams Netflix/Hulu without any issues. Highly recommend this router.

Easy to setup, covers a large area
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't replaced my router in 8 years so I wasn't sure what features are now offered or how to connect it. This one seemed like a good buy based on what was promised on the package. My prior router was made by Netgear and lasted longer than anticipated so I decided to stick the brand. The signal reaches across my entire house and into the back yard. It was also easy to install.

Extremely easy setup
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Current router kept kicking me off internet even though we have plenty fast internet service. I'm sure it was due to the number of wireless devices in house (about 12). After talking with BestBuy associate, he highly recommended this model. Took about a minute to setup and then hopped on the internet and have had no issues since buying this router.

When you need MORE from your wifi...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After years of trying other brands, I've become a Netgear only gal because their routers consistently last longer than their competitors. When my last one died, I was disappointed that it's no longer being carried. I saw the NETGEAR Nighthawk in the store and almost choked on the price (most I'd ever paid was $139) but it looked like it could deliver so I bought it. Great move on my part! Not only does it off fast speeds, it also covers all 3000 sq. ft. of our home without any dead spots (unlike previous routers). Older homes have thicker walls and we've always had to have piggy-back routers but not with the Nighthawk. This puppy cuts through 6" walls like butter. It also handles the load that comes from a tech family of 5 (multiple laptops, phones, tablets, Xbox Live and Netflicks) with ease.

Easy set up and awesome range
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to only use Apple Extreme routers but I have at least 20 of them out in the field and Apple must have done an update because I got calls from 6 customers in one day complaining of having to keep rebooting their Apple Extreme, so a buddy recommended this Nighthawk and I have installed about 5 of them so far and have had no issues.

Solved all my Wi-Fi performance problems
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our wireless network consists of 4 computers, 1 tablet, 4 cell phones, 2 printers, Netflix and Direct TV in a large house. The kids are huge bandwidth consumers (games/movies). I set up the router and haven't touched is since. Everything works perfectly. I am really impressed with the NETGEAR Genie program which provides you a network map, allows you to test all connections, set parental controls and notifies you when a new device connects to your network. I did a lot of research prior to purchase. Most tech geeks state that the average household shouldn't need to spend more than $100 on a router. I like quality equipment that lasts and this purchase was well worth the money to me. Lastly, the Best Buy Sales Rep was the best encounter I've ever had in a tech store. The guy had at least 14 consumers gathered around him as he taught an impromptu Router/Wireless 101 class. Can't remember his name, but he is in a wheel chair.

Great Wireless router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My house has bad speeds and wireless connection, when I made the switch I found it to be a huge difference. I get wireless connection in portions of my house I never could get before. Streaming is clean, and connection is quick. Occasionally I still get disconnected while streaming but this wireless router has to work with my cable company, and that's my real problem.

Far Reaching Range
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this to experiment with wireless AC protocol. I am experiencing faster download speeds and further range than with any of my previous routers (around six, including Cisco, Netgear, Dlink). Been using this router for about two months and have not needed to reboot due to slow-downs or other glitches my previous routers have experienced.

Great Router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally a router that works in my house. I have an older home with lath and plaster walls. Tried several different wireless routers with no luck. This Netgear Nighthawk works great! Has not dropped out once. My tv is connected wireless and Netflix streams just fine. No long buffering times during the movie like some of my old routers did. I have had this router for just over a month and no problems at all. I Love it. I was used to power cycling my old routers once a week or more, I have not had to power cycle the Nighthawk once. I have had 4 to 5 devices connected at one time with no noticeable loss of speed. Again, great router!

Works good, but expensive for what it does
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old Netgear router was requiring a reset almost daily, and I got less than full signal in the distant reaches of my smaller home. This unit was highly rated. The setup app was very easy to use. After downloading updated firmware, I was up and running within 15 minutes. I have had this installed for over a month now, and have had to do 2 resets. Perhaps I need to blame by internet provider. Much improved over my old router. I get full max bars everywhere in the house and my measured speed is about 2X what I saw on my old router. A benefit, is that I have seen vast improvement in movie streaming stability through my Smart Blue-Ray player and my Roku 3. I would recommend, with the stipulation that you are perhaps paying for some horsepower you likely do not need. I would have given this 5 stars if it were $50 cheaper. At $199 it is over-priced in my opinion.
