Pure speed and range
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just recently upgraded from an older apple router and man what a difference. Definitely getting more speed through the wig. When I've checked on the speediest app I'm getting almost my full 60 mbs when I used to only get about half that. I'm also shocked at the range. I keep my router in a utility closet under my stairs and I still get perfect coverage throughout both floors of my house which is almost 4000 sq ft. I even went across the street to the park and still was connected. I was shocked. Couldn't be happier. Wish I had done it sooner.

Would recommend!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had range issues with my internet providers. I was recommended getting my own router, did some research and found lots of good reviews with this Nighthawk for what I needed. It did not fail- there was great range for my two story house, was able to get signal upstairs where the other failed to reach. Fast speeds. No complains. Easy to set up with in-app instructions. Would definitely recommend.

Easy set up and installation.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this was a little expensive, but with my Best Buy points I bought it for $30 dollars less. It worked right out of the box, but make sure you update the firmware first. Make sure you check the Net gear forums to see which firmware to use that is not having any problems. With my old Linksys router my smart TV had problems connecting to the internet and streaming videos, but with the Net gear I have not had any problems and the 5G connection makes it really fast.

Does everything as advertized.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have a two story house and our old router had very poor range and speed. This was reccomended to us by the Best Buy sales rep. and by the Geek Squad tech. that came to the house to help set it up and correct some other issues we were having with one of our computers. They said they used the same one in their homes. It has great range, the router is downstairs in the corner of the house and we have no problems anywhere upstairs getting good reception. It even works great outside on our back patio and yard. We have had no drop outs and the speed has been consistantly good.

Solid Unit for the price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup is easy and there is an app to control the router. I deducted a star because the range is definitely not top of the line. It actually has less range than a cheaper unit I had before, even with the antennas. It is like they don't even exist.

Worth the money!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have Comcast and their router/modem sucks! I wasn't able to get wifi in the upstairs of my house! I bought this and daisy chained it to my modem and now I can even get wifi down the street from my house! This thing is well worth the money!

Very solid
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Features are what I expected, but the range is great. I have a three story twin and this is in the basement. I have 3 of 4 bars in the attic where I used to have none with my last router.

Almost installs itself.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much, much easier to install than earlier generation Netgear routers. Three radios give greater power and range. Able to allocate bandwith to what you need (streaming, gaming). After up and running and you're happy with it, go into Netgear router login site and turn off the status LEDs. They are really, really bright and if you set this device outside it would likely be seen from space.

Easy set up and flawless performance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this up and running in literally 15 minutes which included taking out of the box and unplugging old router. Having the 5ghz channel is perfect for my heavy gaming son, he uses that and the rest of us use 2.4 Very satisfied with this purchase.

great router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.so easy to set up, very user friendly. has the ability to set up 4 different networks within the house. The 2.4 and 5 ghz channels allow you to set up devices to certain networks. also the ability to optimize video streaming is a nice feature

Great router

Good hardware, but change the firmware!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The stock firmware has various security holes, and collects data on you to report to Netgear. Lookup asuswrt-merlin, download, and install. You'll be much happier. Correctly configured, speeds are decent, but falls off significantly w/distance.

What a difference !
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to replace my old, limping wireless router and can't believe what a difference this made in my online experience. (Can't blame Comcast any more). It's nice to have a dual band as well, for when I'm streaming movies. Love the Nighthawk !!

great coverage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old router left dead spots in my house. This router has incredible coverage throughout my two story 3500 square foot house. I can recommend it to anyone who needs widespread coverage.

Basic 1 gig router at a great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well so far, for my town's new fiber optic 1-gig service, I am really liking this router, I think I will like it even more when I change the wifi card in my personal laptop to 1 gig but so far all is good. Great price for this one too at 150 bucks, I only wish I had looked more into the details when I bought the laptop a year before (been waiting for the city to get its act together with fiber for 2 years!) but its all good, the gig wifi card for the laptop is only about 11 bucks, and the cost for a new laptop with gig wifi already built in is WAY more.

Great router once I got settings figured out
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this router due to the fact that my old one was very outdated. Also I bought a new 4K TV and my old router had a problem staying connected to the intenet. After numerous calls to Netgear, Best Buy and Samsung my new Netgear router was still having problems staying connected. All various support claimed it was a problem with my internet provider. Called them and they ran various tests and said all connections were working fine and in addtion my other devices had no problem connecting and staying connected. After about a month or so of going back and forth with everyone involved and found no answers, decided to experiment with the settings myself. Afte some experimentation I found a setting that worked and fixed my problem permanently. It was a setting I was told by everyone not to touch and keep it at the default setting. So therefore I will not say it is bad router, it works great and speed is just fine for all I have hooked up to it and room to spare. I came to the conclusion that since my TV was new to the market, all techs involved in trying to solve the problem were not familiar with it. I was frustrated with everyone and almost took the router back. But then I began to think....we are dealing with electronic devices. When something new comes out such as the TV, just maybe no one is up to speed on troubleshooting. My biggest frustration was with Samsung TV who claimed the TV is not meant to work on dual band routers. Which was ridiculous since all new routers are dual band or more. I reported my findings back to Netgear on a trouble ticket I had that they were about to close since they could not fix the problem. According to them the setting I used should not have been changed and this is the first time they heard that this setting fixed the problem. They thanked me for me input and would share the information with their techs in the event this happens again. So maybe I gave some inisght to Netgear. In the end in spite of the frustrations I had, I have read many reviews where many had no problems with setup. So was mine a fluke? I guess so but in the end all is fine and router is doing a great job.

Excellent and full featured
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this router up and working seamlessly for several weeks now. I have had zero issues with it dropping connections or losing wireless connectivity. The 5G is very fast. The extra apps that can be downloaded are very nice to have, especially the one which enables you to connect to your router over a VPN and interact with your home network from anywhere. I can turn on and turn off any of my devices from anywhere. As a mid-range purchase in this category I highly recommend it.
