PROS: Super easy to setup Great coverage (put one upstairs and one downstairs, worked great) Great speeds CONS: No advanced QoS settings Can't separate out 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSID names Can't use Ethernet to backhaul I would recommend this for someone that doesn't have Ethernet cables running throughout their house and who doesn't need advanced QoS settings. If you're looking for advanced features try another system.

I have a 4000 sqft two story house. My family has complained about the poor wi-fi they get in their rooms, inconsistent signal, gaps, etc. I considered the Eero and then saw the Orbi. Reading the reviews and product description, I thought I'd try it, and if didn't solve my problem, I'd return it within the return window. Followed setup instructions, didn't work. Hunted around and found the NetGear phone support number and got a rep that knew her stuff and walked me through the setup: 1) downloaded firmware updates, firm to the router, then to the satellite 2) used Orbilogin to see what was connected and what was updated 3) tested the setup for speed and connection. Took about an hour. The NetGear rep should get a bonus! She was one of the best support reps I've ever dealt with. I have Sprectrum/TWC as my provider, and signed up for the 300 mbps service. Now getting 250 Mbps on my desktop, up from 60-90 Mbps. In the places where I got no to low signal, now getting 100-160 Mbps. My family is happy. I'm happy. This product rocks! The setup pain was well worth it.

Very strong signals from this wifi system. My internet speed almost doubled after installing system. Now I can get wifi all through out my home.

This was my second set of Orby wireless Mesh Wi-Fi, this one for my mother. Have been using this at home for over a year with zero problems and outstanding connectivity around the house. This was plug and play, so easy to setup and enjoy, unlike the previous system we had.

NETGEAR - Orbi AC3000 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System was very easy and intuitive to set up and it fills up my entire house with high speed WiFi. Before installing this system, WiFi was not available in several areas of my house. This system resolved that issue. The only negative is that the router and satellite are relatively large items.

Good signal extender. Extended signal to my room upstairs where my previous router couldn't reach. Simple set up. I'm happy about the purchase.

I love this system! It has made organizing my network and adding and switching between frequencies soo easy. The only issue I have is that sometimes the connection will drop for a few seconds. Otherwise, the speed and easy of using this system has been great.

We are loving our Orbi! We have a large house with a unique layout and the Orbi is amazing! We have the set that contains 2 units; so it makes it very easy to connect on all levels of our house. We have had zero problems since installing our Orbi. It works great and let me tell you, it works hard because I have a 2 year old and a 5 year old that use and abuse it a lot!

I have a 3600 square foot house with two stories. Excellent coverage with minimal decline in wired speed. Better than my Linksys 3200 I had.

Easy to set up, best mesh network you can get. I saw 50% increase in speed compared to old router for the same internet connection. Buy it.

Solid performers. I've had these for a while and they have never failed. Super easy setup and coverage was what I expected. I am in a 1,300 sq ft. house and these are at each end. No coverage issues even outside in the yard.

Easy setup, this router and it's satellite router cover my whole house with ease. I've been using Apple's airport extreme for years and the Orbi is actually better.

I have been trying mesh networks and long range routers off and on for years. My house is 2400 square feet and my internet coax cable is in my basement and I need internet 2 floors up.. I tried another mesh network that had a router and 2 satellites and had no luck with it. I tried a gigantic router with an extender and also had problems. I had read reviews about Orbi and was still pretty skeptical - especially since there was only a router and one satellite. However, I was willing to take a change. I unboxed it, plugged it in, downloaded the app, and voila. Instant network and maximum bars for the network. I ran speedtests and for my system I was supposed to get 200 down and 15 up. The speedtest indicated the same -whereever I was in the house! Whoa! What a difference.I was stunned and very happy, but I remembered the last time I purchased a mesh network I had problems after the first week, so I was concerned I might have an issue -- but all is good two weeks in!So far I'm very happy and pleased with this purchase. The orbi is not has big as my previous router and I have shelf space!I do have a Netgear cable modem as well so perhaps the two compliment either very well. It's a great purchase.

I did a LOT of research leading up to this purchase and it was worth it. This system has a separate backhaul channel that works to give you consistent speeds whether you're connected to the base station or the satellite. I have confirmed that I am getting the 50gps download speeds I am paying for in every room of my 2200 sq. ft. house. Also has the ability to "turn off" internet to any one or multiple device(s) you want - great for parents. Highly recommended - hope it doesn't die out after a year or so like most routers.

I have to say wow for years I have been struggling and chasing the elusive whole home wifi coverage with speed my network consisted of my main Router a linksys EA8500 Max stream on the 2nd floor near front the front of the house and incredible speed and coverage but not the every corner of the house coverage so I tried so many range extenders but they dropped speed in half from ea once and multiple power line adapters to simulate a hardwired lan connection and even had 4 routers in cascade mode in all 4 lower corners of the house and had insane coverage and speed was decent but not nearly as good as directly from main Router and the problem with that set up was whatever device I was using would hold on to a router signal until it was almost 1bar before jumping to the next even tho it had been rt there which leads me to the ORBI this has my entire house covered end to end with full speed internet I'm paying for 300 mb svc but I'm getting 450+ mbs all around I can't believe I waited so long but now I have to sell 5 routers .... Don't hesitate this is the best there is for coverage with speed and having that 5ghz backhaul makes the difference do your research and you'll be here to get one

This router is legit for larger homes! I'm able to get perfect connection with no drops (and more or less my provided speed) from all the way in my parents room, which with the old router + extended could barely muster 2 bars. I'd advise waiting until these get a rare discount though, as the initial asking price is rather hefty. I paid about $290 for mine.

I have been considering a new router for some time. My Linksys router was only a few years old, but was dropping more and more. I tried some extenders on it with little effect. I spoke to one of the network guys at work and he recommended checking out Netgear routers. While researching, I came across the Orbi wireless mesh routers. The more I read the more I was intrigued. So I bought the Orbi with one satellite router and crossed my fingers that it would cover my 3500 square foot home with 3 stories including a basement. First of all, set up was easy. It took less than 30 minutes to set up both the main and satellite routers and get my computers connected. The signal strength is great throughout the house and all of my devices connect flawlessly with no dropped signals or dead spots. And unlike routers that use extenders, you only see one network to connect to whether on the main router or the satellite. Mesh technology rocks! It also does a great job blocking questionable sites and sending notifications. In summary, I highly recommend the Orbi.

I love that this product is so easy to setup and gives excellence coverage. My bedroom and my garage are so far apart yet I still have good internet speed on both spots. Using Plex to stream movies from my computer to my chromcast is smooth. Highly recommend this product to someone that need simple setup and great range.

I have a typical 2 story colonial with my modem & internet connection in the basement. I had an AC1900 modem which worked pretty well for normal internet surfing ... but now that I dropped my TV service and only stream, my old router was not able to stream without the occasional hiccup. After reading a number of reviews I settled on this router. The reasons were it had better support for streaming, the speed was really good (better than the google routers), and it had the ability to add additional units if there were issues. I have just the two units...one in the basement and one on my first floor. I don't have any more issues streaming. It works well on my second floor so I did not have to buy an additional unit . Setup was simple with the app and I like some of the features and controls/information it provides. I work in the software industry so I'm pretty savvy when it comes to networking and computer technology and I'm pretty picky about my computer & networking hardware. While it is a little more expensive than your typical router it was definitely worth the money. I would definitely recommend this router.

I have been there with a lot of tech over the years. From apple to d-link to netgear, extenders, bigger antennas, finally pretty happy with Asus RT66, upgraded to RT-AC5300 -- WAY BETTER than the prior names and overall pretty good, very capable stuff. Tried extending with the over-wire stuff too. A frustrating house for trying to get consistency. And hard to stay happy in my neighborhood with lots of wifi signal around. And galling to be paying for LTE service for my family , on their phones, at home, when the WIFI didn't do it. WITH THE ORBI : You get one network name, somehow mixing 2.4 and 5 GHz. That was quite helpful. You also get mesh, a wide ranging signal that actually performs well. I have good signal throughout my house. IF YOU ARE GETTING COX GIGABLAST, they are going to put their router in a rotten place, so being able to network to a central place for the main unit and then use the second to make it all work even better -- it worked out well. Pricey, but less than the other mesh networks. I think ORBI is a winner for netgear. Bulky, but once set up, it is hiding in the background and just doing the job. I considered all the other mesh networks, I heard about this from a gal at best buy, and now I have it. About a month in, happy.
