Pros: The system expanded wi-fi capabilities in my home so that we get it in all rooms. My old system only worked in the living areas, but now we get it upstairs and in all the back bedrooms as well.
Cons: It was very expensive (~$350) and the wi-fi in the living areas where the old router used to give me seamless use doesn't appear to be any better; I sometimes get buffering and stalling now where I didn't before. I had to have my son install it though I don't think it would be difficult for most younger people who are used to such things.
I would recommend this if an expanded system was needed for the home and a regular one wouldn't do the trick or if the price drops significantly. Otherwise, it's too expensive.

This was super easy to setup for a two station system. I love it ability to cover a wider space hat is dependent on your placement rather than just a radius from a single location.

Worked great for my house -- set one up near my workstation PC and another across the house for an office and bedroom. Easy to set up and pair. Works well with most devices, as long as they can see the SSID (wifi name). If you are setting up smart bulbs or smart devices, make sure you can enter some kind of AP mode or WPS mode to pair them to your wifi. Would definitely recommend and has great coverage.

There always seems to be euphoria when router companies tell you how much house area their product covers. This is the RBK50, which is supposed to cover 5000 sq ft. Well, maybe without walls. Luckily, I overbought and live in a much smaller house, so the RBK50 is great, but looking at signal strengths, one more set of walls and I'd be in trouble.
Still, it does what I need and covers the whole place with decent strength. The single SSID for both 5GHz and 2.4GHz has caused some trouble with an Epson ET-3600 printer, which can't tolerate 2 radios with the same name. It's now connected by cable to the router. And I can no longer control the 2.4 and 5 radios' on/off with Version 1.12.0.18 of the orbi firmware.

Purchased the orbi in mid February and I'm extremely happy so far. Fast and easy setup. Wifi through out my house including outside with full bars. Don't let the price scare you.

This is a solid product. I bought it to replace an aging Asus router. I get great coverage all over my house. A little on the pricey side, but it is worth it.

After a few weeks, I’m very satisfied with the Orbi. I have Gigabit internet and get 300-500 mbs download on WiFi. I rent a small place, so range isn’t an issue for me. The app tells you how many satellites you have and which one your device is connected to. I used my desktop to setup the system. Connect your cable modem to the router and then connect your PC cable to the Orbi and your browser should automatically load the setup page. I didn’t try to set it up with my iPad. Mesh WiFi is a bit pricey, but I’m using more wireless devices now and the speeds are worth the price for me.

I purchased the Orbi system after reading many online reviews and the system exceeded my high expectations. The range and speed is consistent throughout my entire house and I wonder how I ever used the internet before the Orbi. It lives up to the hype and I highly recommend.

Great System for Large houses

I have a large house with three levels and this system covers it all. The house is long at 80' from the garage to the back bedrooms and I placed the main unit in the back office that is at one end of the house, then the Satellite was place in the center of the house both on the main floor. Setup was a little problematic as it gave me an error and I thought I didn't finish but it actually did. I ended up calling the help line one time. Overall this thing is super fast and I am getting 200-650 MBPS throughout the house now.

Great Quality Product-No Dropped Signal

Prior to Orbi purchase I bought several other cheaper routers hoping to improve my signal as my Nest Cameras where getting dropped signals. Each of these other routers where a little better than the Comcast provided router, but still had way too many dropped signals. I checked the signal strength at each of my Nest Cameras and logged in the signal strength for each. After much research I decided to up the ante and spring for the Orbi. the Orbi signal strength was way better. Other than price I have not been disappointed with performance and it looks good too. In 2 months I've had a couple signal drops and that could have been comcast.

I purchased and installed my Netgear Orbi router about one month ago. I am extremely pleased with the router. I get very fast and reliable service on all devices throughout my entire house. The only problem I encountered was during the setup; I couldn’t get the satellite unit to sync with the router, but with assistance from Netgear Support, I was able to easily fix the problem. One initial drawback to the Orbi router was the lack of a Guest WiFi network. However, Netgear recently upgraded the Orbi system and now offer a Guest WiFi network option. If you’re looking for a high performance router, the Netgear Orbi router is the one to get.

Our home is 1800 square feet over three floors, and we have 14 sources using our internet. We were having dead zones and slow WiFi. The Orbi system completely solved our issues! It is easy to set up, and the app is very useful in managing the system. One thing to point out: if you ever have to reset the router, or it gets unplugged, remember to resync the satellite! It’s simple to do; and if there are any issues syncing the two, just unplug the router for 30 seconds and push the resync buttons. Love our Orbi system!
