Great if you cant get straight to the cable modem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the second one of this brand I bought the first didn't have wireless and after a few years it quit but it was on 24-7 for almost four tears. I got 100MBPS with it and it plugs in the wall by the cable modem and it goes thru the wires in the house and you plug the other end in by your pc and Ethernet cable or wireless to your pc. It says it does more through the wireless but I seem to have better luck with the Ethernet cable. My house wiring is 30 years old so I wonder how much better it would b with a newer house and this one you can shut off with a switch on top so it should last even longer.. Cant get any faster than if you were plugged straight into the cable modem. A-! + Unit

Great product, check compatibility
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really great product. It adds a wired port and wireless access via power line. If you need wireless access in a remote area of your house this might be a solution. Power line does not work in every place but if you have a reasonably new house it has a high probability of working. I had an office in my house that was far from my router. A wireless access point did not work very well. With this product I was able to hook up a computer with an Ethernet cable AND was able to add wireless in that part of my home too! It streams video with ease. The only downside is to check compatibility. I thought all power line products would work together and that is not quite right. This product would not work with my power line nano. I needed another pair of nano devices where I thought I could get two new ports instead of one new port. (Note, my pair of nano devices worked in the same house but it required a pair of nano devices.)

Good solution with good results
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Powerline 500 to extend wifi from a Netgear router to a separate, detached bunkhouse. While the setup was a bit cumbersome, I finally got them working and they appear to provide a reliable signal that is strong enough for Netflix and Amazon streaming via a Roku stick in the bunkhouse that is 200 feet away from the main house. I had to try several different outlets for the wifi broadcasting unit but finally found one that provides a good transfer rate. The light is amber and I could not find an outlet to give me a green light. Amber appears to be strong enough for streaming and web surfing. While it's only been in use a couple of days, we watched a HD movie via Nerflix tonight without any signal drop or disruption to the movie.

Great once setup and working
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to get my wireless internet to the upstairs rooms of our house as I was only getting one bar in areas. The installation manual was OK, nothing great, but should be able to follow. It wasn't working at all though. I used the chat for support and was told that both had to be in outlets on the same circuit breaker. That didn't make any sense as that would be in the same room of the house. I then tried again on my own and called support. I got an opposite answer and was told that neither had to be "hard wired" to my router. That didn't work either. Finally on a 3rd attempt at support I got someone who had a clue what I was trying to setup and worked with me for about an hour. We ended up having to reverse the two boxes from what the directions say and now it works great. I get full signal upstairs and even outside on the deck.

Mostly works
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not sure if this is an issue with the device or my cruddy Comcast connection. Most of the time it works fine, but occasionally it just freezes up. It looks like its still broadcasting and has a strong signal but there is no internet connection. Even all the lights look like its working fine. The fix is pretty easy, just unplug it from the wall and replug it in. It doesn't happen a lot, but when it does, the big issue is that our phones start burning more data without our knowing it. If we don't notice it soon enough, suddenly we're getting warnings from our carrier. Call their help desk which was hit or miss. One guy clearly had never helped with this product. I felt I was teaching him how to fix it. Next guy VERY knowledgeable. Also, the installation instructions don't match what you see when you're using their connection software. Had to figure it out myself.

Great Solution for Dead WiFi spots in the home
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had a weak signal in our bedroom and needed a solution. We spoke with a young man at the South Park store (Austin) who recommended this product. It works like a charm! Great signal strength and speed. Kudos!

Great Product, works better than expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product works surprisingly well. My router is in my basement office and I added this product to my bedroom which is on the next level and opposite end of the house. Before using this I was receiving 2 bars are on my phones WiFi. With this product I consistently get full bars. I would give this 5 stars however it takes a little time to get it set up properly with security.

Great range extender
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We needed additional wifi coverage in our basement and this item performs great. We now have better signal in the basement then on the main floor where the main router is located.. Easy to install and use.

Works well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an older house with multiple levels. Although I have a fairly good netgear AC router I needed a solution to the down stairs when I am doing work. Installed the access point in after pairing with the router which took a grand total of about 10 minutes including opening the packaging and now I have consistent down stairs connection without much interference.

Works great if......
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this after being recommended by a fellow peer. One thing which cut my experience short is it does not work well with my houses old wiring. Easy to setup. Easy to manage and get running just my older style house (early 50's) did not work well with the Ethernet signal

Excellent network extension
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use a very effective and fast wireless network for my entire house and all my devices. However, my daughter's internet was slow because of the distance from the router and physical interference from walls and a fireplace. This wireless point access saved me from having to run an Ethernet cable and converting my network and saved me hundreds of more dollars. It was easy too. Just plug one end into the back of the router and and an outlet, and plug the other part into another outlet near the computer and plug the Ethernet cable in and it was ready to go. Easy as pie. No need to even read the instructions.

This is a great product just one thing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product worked well and was easy to install and increased my internet speed. All good! But since it works off the electrical outlets it ended up creating a frequency disruption to my AT&T tv service. I called in my service provider to help correct the problem but could not get the problem resolved.

Good powerline access point
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are needing a powerline and wireless access point combo, this will do the trick. The devices are plug and play, just plug one in near the router, the other on the other end of the house. Don't expect lightning fast speeds, but to get a signal in a "dead zone" at all is great.

Amazing!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We needed this in our home to amplify the signal. Our modem/gateway device was way to far from our living room to provide signal to our new smart TV so this easily fixed that issue. The set up process was a little confusing, but luckily my brother was able to fix it for me.

Nice Net Gear power line wireless
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This item was easy to install, I loved how you could just plug in to the wall in one room of the house then plug the other one in the other room and it would connect. (Just make sure you put on wall outlet not surge protector) it is made well I always like Net Gear

Enhanced Wifi with Netgear Powerline
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical that this would not work. When I stream a movie, I was getting several stalls, but with the powerline, the stalls have been kept to a minimum. My router is about 30 ft away and this gave me better wifi range and quicker response overall.

Better than traditional wireless extender
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Powerline adapter has been a good upgrade to my traditional wireless extender. The speed is only slightly lower than if I were standing next to my primary wireless router (traditional extender was less than 50%). Setup could not have been much easier. On the negative side, I will still loose a signal occasionally, but disconnecting and re-connecting usually re-establishes. Only once in the past 6 weeks have I needed to unplug to reset. My traditional extender required a power cycle 4-5 times a week. I have a smart TV hard-wired to the wireless adapter which works great.
