This DashCam set comes with a front and rear camera to capture everything in and around your vehicle. Talk about security!! These cameras cover most everything imaginable for your vehicles safety. This comes with wiring and everything needed for the two different ways you can hook it up to power and plenty of wiring for having the cameras just where you want them. I like that the front camera of the vehicle also has the interior camera which your cheaper dash cams don’t necessarily have. You can view what is going on in the vehicle itself, and should it get stolen it is capable of actually getting a picture/video of who is stealing your vehicle to help the police apprehend and identify them. The two different ways to get the cameras powered are hardwiring it (seemed way to difficult for me and probably should be done professionally unless you are hard wiring savvy) or if you have a vehicle that has an OBD outlet. Now to begin with I had no idea what an OBD outlet was, so had to Google it and find out where it was on my Subaru vehicle. In order to set this up you need the iQ app for any installation as these did not come with any instructions. They only came with a QR code for a video of the installation (which only helped a little) and a QR code to download the app. Once you have the app and set up an account, it gives step by step instructions on where to put the cameras and gives you a view to see if it is at a good angle. That was the easy part. The hard part is hiding all that wiring. The installation video gives you a good idea on what to do and it takes a bit of common sense to figure out where to route the wiring. In all the installation took a good hour since it was bit of trial and error. If you know vehicles well, you could probably get it installed in a half an hour. I hid the wiring very well and you would not even know it was there unless you actually purposely looked for it and saw a few spots where the wiring showed a tiny bit. So proud of how well I hid the wiring with the little tool they give you to stuff it in available slots. Now when you are setting up the app and cameras, you will be asked if you want to set up a subscription or go without a subscription. I went with the lower priced subscription. To use this properly, you really do need this subscription which I think is very reasonable for all that it does. This subscription will save all your videos on a cloud for 30 days, give real time image notifications, witness mode, smart sense parking and a few other things that are VERY helpful for you. I feel this subscription is enough for what I need the cams for. If you travel quite a bit the higher priced subscription is probably the better way to go. The subscriptions are priced at $10 and $20 a month and you get two months free if you pay annually, so I believe the subscriptions are worth the very reasonable prices. I highly recommend this NextBase DashCam set. As a woman, I feel much safer while driving/traveling or leaving my car parked in large areas, such as parking garages, parking lots, etc. If I, with absolutely no idea of installing this dashboard cam, can do it so can you.

This was the first time trying a Nextbase branded item but I was excited to give the Nextbase iQ 4K Smart Front and Rear Dash Cam with 4G LTE and GPS system a try. I had been interested in having a front dash cam installed in my vehicle but wanted to make sure I chose something reliable. Installation was fairly simple but I'll admit that if I didn't have someone I trusted to help me I wouldn't have tried it myself as it would have taken a lot longer and been more frustrating for me. Setup was simple. The 4K resolution is top notch (far better than I expected when compared to other dash cams I have seen used by friends). We are in a world where it is becoming increasingly necessary to pay for a monthly subscription to get the best out of any tech device you purchase and this dash cam system is no different. That's absolutely something worth keeping in mind because unfortunately in order to get full access to the full multitude of features that make this unit a good option you will need to be comfortable committing to a subscription. For some, the peace of mind will make it worth it.

Great Dumb Dash cam, Disappointing Smart one

The Nextbase iQ is a two-camera system that records in 4K up front and 1440p in the rear. It comes with built-in GPS, voice control, and support for 4G LTE. While it looks like a high-end dash cam, it’s clearly aiming to be more than that. This is meant to be a connected, always-watching device for your car. You can stream live video, get motion and impact alerts when parked, and use the app to review footage or check in remotely. It’s trying to be the Ring camera equivalent for vehicles. Physically, the front camera is larger than typical dash cams. It includes the camera sensor, a small screen, a few capacitive touch buttons, and a mount that connects via an adhesive pad. The power and GPS cable connect through the mount, keeping things clean once installed. The rear camera is much smaller and connects to the front unit with a long cable that can be hidden behind trim if you’re doing a full install. The front unit also has a cabin facing camera. You can power the unit using either the OBD-II cable or hardwire kit. I went with the OBD-II option since it was faster to install and still provides full functionality including parked monitoring. It will draw a small amount of power while the car is off, but I haven’t seen any battery issues so far. Setup was mostly smooth. Once powered, the camera boots up and prompts setup through the Nextbase app. After pairing, you’ll go through a firmware update that took about 15 minutes on mine. After that, you can customize camera settings, sign up for a 4G LTE plan (optional), and choose how sensitive you want parking detection to be. A free plan subscription was included with my review. LTE activation was straightforward and worked within a few minutes of configuration in the app. But the LTE seemed pretty inconsistent. Video quality is excellent. The front camera records in 4K and does a good job capturing license plates and road signs during both day and night. HDR helps reduce glare. The rear camera is wide enough to cover the full rear view and captures more than enough detail to be useful. Audio quality is fine for spoken context but nothing special. One feature that works better than I expected is Smart Sense Parking Mode. The iQ detects when someone gets close to your vehicle and starts recording automatically. With LTE enabled, I also got alerts on my phone. In my testing, the system consistently recorded motion within a few seconds. The detection is good enough that I never worried about whether it had missed anything. The app gives access to live view, event recordings, and timeline history. You can download or share clips directly from your phone. Load times are not instant, especially for live view, and it seemed hit or miss whether you’d connect. I mean, eventually, I’d connect and start navigating through video, but playback or a live view would be jumpy like it was intermittently losing signal. Furthermore, the app doesn’t feel especially fast. There’s a short delay when opening it and navigating through menus. Alerts seemed to always get delivered so in that respect, I find the LTE connectivity nice for knowing something happened in real time. But there’s a lot of work still to be done to use this as a internet connected camera or to monitor what’s going on with someone borrowing your car in real time. The iQ comes with a 64GB microSD card with support up to 256GB. You’ll want to use one if you expect to keep high-resolution footage for longer. 64GB will give you about 90 minutes of recording before it starts to overwrite data. Honestly, I think this is fine for most use cases. My previous 1080p camera used 32GB and while on long trips, it would loop and erase older video that didn’t matter as I only care about footage that captures an event. The iQ has a similar feature you can activate with a voice command to protect a file. This will ensure that events are not lost. It will also automatically protect when a crash is detected which I could trigger with very hard braking. Despite the voice control, I found the capacitive button on the side to be quicker and more reliable. Voice commands were hit or miss depending on cabin noise. A few other areas for improvement. The front unit gets quite warm after a long drive or while parked in direct sun. It hasn’t shut down or thrown a warning, but it’s something to be aware of if you live in a hot climate. There’s no support for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto integration, so you can’t view alerts or recordings on your in-dash screen. Not a dealbreaker, but would’ve been a nice feature. The rear camera cable is also thinner than I expected and might be prone to wear if not routed carefully. Overall, the Nextbase iQ delivers as a high resolution dash cam with all the high end features that have been available since 2017 without needing to be tethered to your phone for GPS and other input. The 4G connectivity is what’s supposed to turn this into the true “smart” dash cam, but it fails on that front. Poor connectivity means all those things barely work or do so intermittently enough to be frustrating and cause you not to use it. About the only thing I found reliable was notifications and that actually works without the subscription. While 4K is definitely nice, I’ve found 1080p has been good in most daytime conditions if the camera sensor is good. 2K or 4K really shine at night. The improved rear cam resolution is nice, my previous set up used 720p. But I cannot recommend this for the smart features and without it, this is just a higher resolution version of the dash cam I’ve had for almost a decade. If you’re getting a new system today, by all means go for 4K. But I’d give this a pass until the smart features are a lot better baked. It’s not clear if the issue is firmware, hardware (poor antenna), network (maybe a service provider that sucks), or some combination of the three. I gave it three stars because objectively, this does a good job as a standalone dashcam. If that’s all it was, I’d give 4. But because it fails to deliver on a lot of it’s promises, 3 stars is a better representation of what someone who is choosing this camera can expect to experience.

    Excellent Dash Cam Set

The Nextbase iQ 4K dash cam bundle is one of the best dash cams I have ever used, just be aware that to take advantage of all of the "Smart" features, you do need to subscribe to their monthly service. So the iQ features a 4K front facing camera, 2K cabin camera, and 2K rear window camera. It also comes with a 64GB SD card pre-installed, and all hardware needed for installation. Installation seems daunting at first, but it really wasn't very hard at all. First, you download the iQ app, and follow some quick setup steps. Then it walks you through the entire installation process, complete with diagrams and videos. They include a little spudger type tool to help tuck away the cable along your vehicle trim. Installation took a total of about 30-45 minutes in my case, but I was going extra slow and tucking the cable gave me a little trouble in some areas of my car. But in the end, I was pretty happy with how installation turned out. The front camera was much bigger than I expected it to be, however, if you place it where they recommend, it is pretty out of the way of your view. The actual camera itself really isn't very big, but the part that sticks to your window, and I guess has the cellular radio in it and stuff, is pretty chunky. The rear window camera is relatively small, and doesn't get in the way at all. The picture quality on all 3 of the cameras is really great. The 4K camera is of course the best, and captures amazing detail, which is perfect for the main cam since you want to be able to make out details like license plates or get clear pictures of faces and things. The cabin and rear cameras are both 2K, but still get nice clear video. If you don't want to pay for the monthly iQ service, then this is pretty much the end. In order to view or save your footage, you'll have to take the memory card out of the device and load it up on a computer. However, if you do pay for the service, you get to take advantage of all the great smart features this camera offers. That includes live video, notifications, cloud storage, and more. The live video was really impressive. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the first time I got a notification on my phone, I clicked it and I was very surprised to be taken straight to a live feed of my wife driving home. The quality isn't the greatest since it's streaming over 4G and not 5G, but it's still clear enough to see what's going on. And all video is still stored in 4K or 2K on the device or in the cloud. The camera even still functions while the car is parked, detecting motion or other events near the car. Great for security purposes. You can even set speed notifications if for instance you have a teen driver and what to keep tabs on their speed. There are so many features in the app that are really useful. I think it's worth it to at least try out the subscription to get a better idea of everything this camera can do. Luckily, Nextbase does include a free trial with every camera. If you decide you don't like paying a monthly fee, the main function of this camera is still worth it in my opinion. You still get 3 great camera that feature really good picture quality. You'll just have to get the footage off of the SD card, like most other dash cams, which isn't all that bad. Overall I am very happy with this dash cam bundle. I really appreciate all of the smart features, even if it means I'll have to pay yet another monthly subscription.

I’ve used several Nextbase dashcams over the last few years, starting with the 322, then the 622 and they’ve done pretty well by me. Most recently I got the opportunity to test the latest generation Nextbase iQ 4K smart Front and Rear Dashcam combo with 4G and GPS. It is a much more advanced dashcam system that’s meant to be more of a 24x7 car audio/video monitoring system for all intents and purposes. What makes this dashcam so much different is its intelligent AI/iQ capabilities that unfortunately require a subscription that pays for both the 4G LTE connectivity with a built-in SIM card and for the AI features and cloud storage that only work with a paid monthly subscription plan that currently costs $6.99/mo for the basic Protect plan or $9.99/mo for the Protect Plus plan. Installation is not too difficult if you’re a bit handy and follow their step by step in-app instructions. They include a long power cable that can reach to the OBDII port under the steering wheel column or the fuse box for always-on connectivity. They also include an even longer cable for the rear camera, probably about 24 feet long. This installation could be more difficult if you’ve never routed wires through your car’s dash, trim, kick panel. Using the plastic car trim tool is a plus that will help you guide and route the rear camera wire all the way to the back window. This camera system is much bigger than your typical dashcams, mainly because it pretty much comes with a 4G LTE hotspot that’s the round speaker base with two antennas that attach to your windshield with the included 3M adhesive pads. The actual camera hangs down from the hockey puck size base. Much like any other smart camera, it requires the use of your phone w/Bluetooth and WiFi enabled for initial setup and viewing live video feeds or recorded clips. Video quality and sound recording is great, definitely a couple of steps up from my old 1080p dashcams. Unfortunately all the great, intelligent features this camera has to offer are totally dependent on the paid subscription - real-time image notifications, live view, witness mode, remote alarm, cloud storage, emergency SOS, automated incident back-up, (roadwatch AI, guardian mode - coming soon). I wish they allowed most of those features to work over WiFi while connected to your phone or home WiFi while parked which would be a lot faster than the spotty 4G connection. You’re better off removing the pre-installed 64 GB SDcard and viewing the recordings on your PC. I personally can’t justify the nearly $500 price tag for this camera system, plus the additional on-going subscription cost. Iff money is not an issue for you, then the Nextbase iQ 4K Smart Front and Rear Dashcam combo with 4G LTE and GPS is an impressive car monitoring/security system.

The Nextbase iQ 4K is an outstanding dash cam - especially the capture quality, where it matters most for me. The captures are really excellent, even at night. The detail is impressive enough to reliably pick up important information like license plate numbers, which is the entire point of a security camera like this. (As a bonus, I recently shared some fall foliage footage on a particularly scenic drive. I'm not a content creator or anything, but it was a big hit with my extended family.) I was pleased with the physical setup. The unit is sleek and minimal, and I was initially worried about it blocking my eyeline, but it blended in as just another part of the dash almost immediately. Installation was straightforward using the OBD power connection. Although it's not a pass-through and has to be unplugged when the car is serviced, that hasn't been a material inconvenience. Connecting the camera to the app was just as easy. Where the iQ gets crowded is the feature list. There are a lot of functions in the app, and many of them are redundant with my car's built-in driver and parking assistance systems. For owners of older models without those features, I think the advanced alerts and monitoring would be valuable. For me, there's a bunch of extra stuff to scroll through. I do appreciate having the GPS tracking and geofencing alerts as another layer of intel in case of theft or an incident, even if a bad actor would probably figure out how to unplug the unit first. I initially sweated a bit over the camera not having horizontal swivel—it only moves vertically and front-to-back—but I didn't have any trouble getting it perfectly positioned, so that turned out to be a non-issue. Overall, the superb video quality and the peace of mind that comes with it are worth the investment, even if the comprehensive feature set is more than I strictly need.

I think the Nextbase iQ 4K Smart Dash Cam with 4G/LTE and GPS is a clear step forward from previous Nextbase models with a more connected and smarter thanks to its 4G/LTE features. These new capabilities open up great possibilities, though they also come with the trade-off of a monthly subscription. For me, after the trial period, the real question will be whether the ability to access camera functions remotely (when my phone isn’t in the car) justifies that extra cost. I drive a large SUV and had been using a previous Nextbase camera for about three years. Moving to this new model was, for me, a step in three directions and one expectation: 1.- Better video quality. 2.- The ability to record from three views — front, passengers, and rear. 3.- Easier access to recordings through an improved app. 4.- And, ideally, a complete installation kit that wouldn’t require hiring an installer. I’m glad to say all four expectations were met. 1.- The main unit combines front and interior cameras in one piece, both shooting in 4K with a wide 140° view. Mounted near the rearview mirror, it captures everything from the road ahead to the passengers (even the third row in my SUV). 2.- With the rear camera added, all three views record simultaneously. In the app, you can switch between them with a tap very intuitive. 3.- The new iQ app is a big improvement. The initial setup took me longer than expected, about 30 minutes (linking via QR code and updating firmware wasn’t instant), but once done, the connection is solid. I can access and download clips, send messages to the car, and adjust sensitivity or alerts remotely. As of today (10/10/25), all looks great except one feature called “Roadwatch A.I.” is still marked coming soon. 4.- Installation was straightforward because everything you need is in the two boxes (for the front and the rear cameras). I powered my frontal camera via the OBD port and followed a couple of YouTube videos to hide the cable. The back camera is powered with the front camera. The result looks cleaner than the setup for my previous camera, which used the cigarette lighter. Now, all that positive has in my view a few trade-offs worth noting: a.- Subscription: The camera technically works without one, but most of useful features are locked behind the paid plan. The messaging about “solo protect” being enough is, in my opinion, misleading. Please note that I called the technical support to confirm that: "the "solo' option will give you access to recordings by reading directly the memory card in your laptop".  b.- Credit card requirement: Even though the first month is free, I don’t like having to enter my payment info right away before deciding if I’ll keep the service. c.- Mount type: The new adhesive mount is solid, but you only get one shot at positioning it correctly, unlike the old suction cup. d.- Warranty: For the price, a one-year warranty feels short, especially when my older model still works perfectly after years of use. Overall, if car security and connectivity are priorities and the subscription fits your budget (maybe even offset by an insurance discount), this is a great option. But if you prefer a one-time purchase without ongoing costs, one of the earlier models might be a better fit.

I’ve been use the Nextbase iQ for about a week now. Here’s the short version: amazing footage (can’t be 4K), advanced features, but some rough edges (and extra costs, oh yeah, subscriptions). The video quality for the front camera is on point, and what you’d expect from 4K. It captures everything in with good detail. I’ve used it during the day and at night… both have gotten good video. The rear camera (when it works…) also looks great, and the GPS tagging is fast and accurate. Build quality feels premium — this thing is solid, like it belongs in a luxury car. I drive a Lexus… though not a very expensive one… that counts right? The voice alerts and smart parking features are slick, and I really like the emergency SOS function for peace of mind since I didn’t keep that with my car services. Now, my only real complaint — reliability and cost creep. The rear camera likes to drop out every now and then, which is frustrating when you’re paying top dollar. Firmware updates help, but it’s still finicky and haven’t completely resolved the issues for me. Also, a lot of the fancy “smart” options (remote live view, cloud storage, AI detection, etc.) require the upgraded subscriptions. Without paying monthly, you lose a lot of what makes this system unique. Not a deal-breaker, but it feels a bit like buying a sports car and then finding out cruise control costs extra. Setup was straightforward; the app is decent, though not perfect. It took me a few tries to get everything paired and updated, but once it’s running, it’s mostly smooth sailing. Hardwiring is definitely recommended. This thing draws more power than your average dash cam. Excellent overall. Easily one of the best-looking and smartest dash cams I’ve used. Just wish the rear cam was a little more reliable and the premium features didn’t nickel-and-dime you with subscriptions.

The Nextbase IQ XR dash cam bundle is a good way to add an additional source or security to your vehicle. The install can be a simple as plug and play with your vehicles OBD port and maybe a little more challenging such as adding the power source from one of you fuses in the fuse box. After that your next challenge will be what to do with all the cables and how to hide them. Simple enough I should say. The install process is guided by the app when you first start it up. Overall mounting is as simple as a double-sided tape. It feels very stable however the front vie camera can be a little bulky and heavy so time will tell how long it will last on that that hot windshield. The front camera portion has a camera to that will record the front and inside of the vehicle. The rear view is to be mounted in the back part of your vehicle to record the back as you drive. The local video files can be accessed by a memory card in the camera, however if you want any other future you have to pay for a subscription. You can always check their pricing online to give you an idea of the current pricing. With the subscription base you will be able to receive alerts and view a live feed, otherwise all date will be stored on the memory card. Overall, I rated 4 out of 5 just because the features are very limited on the free plan. An idea would be to add a free feature that would allow you to access video files from the memory card while you are connected to the same network. However, I do have to say it was niccelybuilt little things here and there that can be corrected but overall, this is a great bundle.

This dash cam bundle is one that I'm impressed with it has so many features to it that makes it very worth while and just to name a few which are the smart sence parking which is a 24/7 protection on your car or truck that lets you see everything going on around it along with fliming, the emergency SOS for if your in an accident and unresponsive the team willl call for the police or ambulance, the in cabin veiw, hands free voice and witness mode to catch the odd road raggers for the police just to name a few. Some of the features you do have to have a subscription for but hey they are worth it to hel keep you safe when driving. The only issues that I did have with it was the installing of it as there is not just enough information to show you how to even in the video they show as not all cars are the same, So with that said if your one that's not to inclined to try to put one in be ready to find someone who can do it for you which I had to get some help doing so on mine. It does take some time to install but in the long run it's worth it, the only other thing that I did have an issue with is the fact it comes with a sim card and sd card both of which are preinstalled and very well hidden the SD card is something that you should be able to remove to veiw any footage on your pc of to copy for the police /lawyer /court for evidance. Other than thosse two things this is a 100% get for anyone.

    Lots of frustration

The Nextbase iQ 4K Smart Dash Cam Bundle with Cabin Cam and Rear Window Cam is a conundrum to me. It wants to be so much and I wish that it could be what it intends to be, but as it is, it is a lot of extreme frustration. The setup is easy. To start, the dash cam/cabin cam unit is powered by either your vehicle's OBD port or via the fusebox. I chose to use the OBD port. The bundle comes with the necessary hardware for your choice of setup. Once plugged in, the camera chimed on and I thought I was ready to go. Apparently at that point I didn't have a good enough signal to do the needed update. A screen came up suggesting I drive around until I have good coverage. I drove all around my neighborhood and every time I saw that it was downloading the update, I would pullover to get it done. Every single time it would download the update, but it would not install the update. I don't know if it ever did install it. I did drive around to do some errands and I could get nothing to come up on my phone screen for the live-view, and I could not get anything in the library to display either, so I assumed it was not recording. Is it supposed to record 24/7? Is there a setting I can change for that? I couldn't find anything for this. When I parked at my destination, the camera showed me it was in Parking Mode and I was thrilled to see that. However, after I pulled out of the parking spot, the camera wouldn't come back on! I did come to find the files from my drive did eventually go to the library. But only the files up until I parked and nothing from after that. What I did see was quality - it recorded the front in 4K and the cabin in 2K and the videos were very clear. I could clearly hear myself singing in those videos as well! I realized there is a delay from the time of recording to the time it gets uploaded to the app to see. There is a monthly subscription fee that includes cloud storage and 4G among other things and is really necessary to be able to record videos. Because of the lack of connectivity that didn't allow the Nextbase iQ 4K Smart Dash Cam Bundle with Cabin Cam and Rear Window Cam to perform as expected, this is a no-go for me. Perhaps it is because I live in the Pacific Northwest I don't get proper reception? I really don't know and it is possible that this could work where you are. There are a lot of features that this dash cam has and I would have loved to be able to try them out. If this dash cam bundle worked as it was supposed to, I would love this thing!
