I purchased the 4K July 2024, the unit is larger than most dash cams, the features that makes this dash cam unique cannot be used without paying a monthly subscription. Advertised features like "AI" still are not available. Unfortunately, within a year my dash cam failed and customer support is not very supportive. I recommend purchasing the Best buy warranty. Important Note, per Nextbase policy, if your unit fails and needs to be returned to Nextbase, you must completely uninstall the unit cables and all, send it back to Nextbase, before they send you a replacement unit. This means if you paid to have it installed you will need to pay to uninstall and then pay to have it reinstalled once they send you the replacement.

I've had this product for nearly a year and it has been nothing but problematic. I've been waiting nearly two months for a warranty replacement from them and they do not do advanced replacements, so I'm without a dash cam until they send me a new one. Half of the advertised features have not been delivered on. The parking mode is a joke; it doesn't buffer/pre-record video so by the time the device starts recording, someone who has damaged your vehicle will probably be far enough away that reading the plate would impossible. Get a Nexar instead.

The rear camera it just keep off and the 4LG helps you to check the car while it’s parking but the connection is too poor as well.

I was excited to test the product and its AI capabilities. This product was marketed a year ago since it finally was released but still, not all features are available, especially regarding its AI-related features. It's surprisingly very bulky...and very pricey since you would have to pay for subscriptions as well.

Camera works when it wants to work, watching live on the app is difficult at best. I get 3-4 bars on 4G takes for ever to load and sync with rear camera. For the price being paid, this is a rip off. Get notification on the app, try to pull it up, just say retrieve etc, never see the notification. With the Nextbase 622, never had these problems, it worked great, wish I would not have sold it. Also cannot connect the IQ with my Donger Technologies Power Adapter that I can connect to my rear view mirror elect connector. Now you have to run wiring, (I will not plug into my OBII port, not able use it when at service center, as they need to unplug it) to the fuse box. 622 took less than 5 min, IQ up to 30 min running it and rear camera. Should be easier to use, with camera connection to the app should work better (faster), its connected blue tooth also, so dont understand why it takes so long to get any video feed. Engineers need to go back to the drawling board. Also they need to make the app where it work with Apple Car Play.

You could argue that Nextbase is a bit pricey, but think of it as getting a fancy cellphone plan for your live streaming dashcam. Now you can spy on your car from anywhere with decent signal and capture any fender benders. Plus, it even doubles as a cool intercom system. Investing in your vehicle's safety never looked so good!

I regret purchasing the Nextbase - iQ 4K Smart Dash Cam with 4G/LTE and GPS in Black. My experience has been largely negative due to the device frequently being offline, significantly undermining its reliability and effectiveness. A major limitation is that motion detection footage is only accessible through the app, and not available in real-time while driving. This significantly diminishes the dash cam's utility and convenience. Additionally, the subscription fee required to access basic features is exorbitantly high, adding insult to injury. In contrast, I have had a positive experience with the Ring Car Cam. I own three of these devices and have never encountered any issues. They offer immediate access to footage, reliable performance, and no unreasonable subscription fees. My advice to potential buyers is to consider the Ring Car Cam over the Nextbase iQ 4K. It's a decision you're less likely to regret.

Recording is great the are able to hear everything and send you notifications of movement and has mp recordings

I REALLY want to like this dash cam. The idea is great. The execution not so much. You must invest time to go into literally every setting and tweak them. I still have not been able to download a video from the cloud to phone. It stops half way and gives an error. Sometimes GPS connects and sometimes it doesn't. If your looking for Plug and Play. This is not for you.

Great camera but very software. Camera records when it wants to. Doesn’t show live view or videos I want to view 50% of the time. This is my 2nd camera by the way!!! First one was same thing. Called customer service various times and they can’t do anything!!! My $200 black view camera worked better than this supposedly high end $700 camera.

Great product all voice controlled I actually use it in my semi only bad part is it records in 1 min increments and can’t be changed

If you do not intend on paying for the subscription, do not consider the Nextbase iQ. Even the most basic functionalities--functionalities that exist on Nextbase's Series 2 dash cams--are locked behind the paywall. For example, without a subscription, files recorded locally on the SD card are inaccessible directly in the app. If ever you need to show authorities footage at the scene of an incident, you'll either need to 1] eject the SD card from the iQ and use a nearby laptop and a SD card reader to access the files, or 2] pay for a subscription. Most people do not carry around a laptop nor a SD card reader, so it seems unethical that iQ owners will be forced to purchase a subscription during a particularly stressful moment as their only means of accessing evidence. Stick with the Series 2 dash cams--noteably, the 622GW. They cost less, give local access to files on the SD card, allow local streaming, and do not require a subscription for the life of the device(s) to make it real-world functional.
