    I couldn't get it to work as described and when I contacted manufacturers customer support they knew less about the device than I did. Sent back and purchased a Ring doorbell.

    We returned the item, app keeps crashing choose a different doorbell with camera.

    App won't ring

    8mos ago I bought 2 of these, one for me and another for a friend. Both of us have the same issues. The app drops the connection to the doorbell. The doorbell won't ring the app, that stopped about 2 or 3 updates ago. Tech support will blame it on your WiFi, phone or just you in general. I even have a brand new phone on Android 9 with a fresh install of the app and it still won't ring the app unless you are looking at the camera when someone pushes the doorbell button. If the app drops the doorbell you can log out of the app and back in to fix so make sure to keep your login info handy. If someone rings doorbell and you answer with phone you will spend a lot of time trying to understand the person at your door as you can barely hear them and they can't understand you or hear you. I have full bar wifi connection at the doorbell location. Before the update that broke the app ringing if you were on cellular and someone rang doorbell it would take 3-11 mins for it to reach app. If you have or want 2 of these on your house you have to have the higher voltage transformer. If not only one will work at a time. Once you put cover on it a pain to get off. They show you how to get cover off before you mount it but not after. I guess I could make a video about it. Best or only thing about the unit is the day and night camera, both are great. Playing back recordings takes getting used to. Can't say I recommend it to someone that is not tech savvy.

    Don't buy NightOwl equipment for any reason.

    I now have 2, neither works. The doorbell needs a device attached to the door chime that they call an amplifier. It has two leads on it, so i doubt it is an amp. they want an additional $15 for the solid state box. Tech support has been unreachable, They have been exasperating from the very start of my business with them. My first DVR died just after the one year warranty expired. I bought another one that included the wireless cameras, for use with this doorbell. It would not connect with my wireless IP cameras.

    half-ring-issue

    Reasonably easy installation and it worked for 6-9 months without an issue except it does not ring the app. HOWEVER now the the doorbell half rings several times a day at random times with nobody there. I had issues with weak signal indication. I moved the DVR to within 5 feet. I still have connection issues and it still half rings. I'm ready to throw this item in the garbage. Any thoughts?

    App is garbage, tech support is unreachable

    The app required for the doorbell is garbage. Every three or four times I open it I see a message the SD card needs formatting, even though it’s formatted. The person at the door can’t hear you speaking through the doorbell. You can only reach technical support through an online chat widget, but after waiting THREE hours I gave up.
