    Defective out of box

Was a sony action cam user. Thought I'd pre-order the keymission 360 for it's 360 photos and videos since Nikon is supposed to be a decent brand. However, this camera is defective out of the box. It will charge the battery / remain connected to the computer for 45 seconds at most (tried multiple USB cables, former Geek Squad Agent - I know how to troubleshoot). Spent an hour on the phone with Nikon just for them to recommend I send it in to them. I'm moving in 21 days and do not have time to run through their kafkaesque gamut of "solutions". First Nikon purchase ever; turned out to be garbage. Should've stuck with Sony; tried and true with all of my other purchases. Can't wait to return this heap. Also, it's REALLY BIG for an action camera tbh.

Hello - please attempt the following to resolve this issue. With your fully charged battery - press and hold the VIDEO button on the top of the camera for 7 seconds. The camera's lights located at the top of the camera will flash green, alternatively. This will reset the camera to allow it to be paired again. Once paired via bluetooth - go into the camera settings and change the Auto Off on the camera to 5 min. Attempt to connect again and remain connected.

We do have some instructions, located here: http://www.nikonusa.com/kmwifi, if you would like to use the camera remotely paired to WiFi. It will require a password for the WiFI network. The information is located at that link. Nikon

    What can I say?

The camera is clunky and has stitching issues. For iOS at least, it doesn't really fully work with out the phone app which other reviews will generously describe as "finicky". In fact, the phone app has achieved near complete uselessness. I mean, hand brake in a canoe useless. However, it you want an expensive way to post warped and flattened panos to Facebook, by all means, Nikon's Keymission is your "360 degree" camera. Oh yeah, fear not, they have included a "VR Headset Viewer" which IS made of cardboard. It looks like it should be the box the camera comes in, but it's not. See for yourself on Nikon's accessory page. Just in case you wanted something bizarre along with your $500 purchase.

Please make sure you have updated both the camera's firmware as well as the camera's app and Utility. Nikon has addressed these issues as well as the issue with photos not showing up in 360 on Facebook. For the most up to date information on the KeyMission 360 please see; www.nikonusa.com/km360. You will have access to FAQ's, as well as update information on firmware, software and app. Nikon

    Absolutely horrible!

Image quality is very bad, stitching is terrible. The Ads you watch on Nikon's website about KeyMission are extremely misleading. There is no lock for the buttons so as soon as you touch one you either take a photo or start recording a video. App and bluetooth/wifi connection is well... not really a "connection" the entire thing is a waste of money and time. Watch some reviews on YouTube you'll see how bad it is.
