I have owned for 2 years. It is a great camera Coming from d7500. It will take time to learn the AF modes and when to use them and for what. 45 megapixel allows for ease with cropping. The ftz ii adapter will allow use of AFS lens with ease and zero optical difference. The viewfinder is natural view. I’m no pro, but a 68 year old enthusiast. O need to spend more for z8 unless you have pro aspirations or just disposable cash. Invest in good glass and rent Lightroom mobile. You will have pro level images! The focus tracking isn’t A plus but if needed will get the job done.

I upgraded from the d7500 and it's a night and day difference. I absolutely love the speed and quality of this camera (used with nikkor z lenses). If i could complain about something, it's that the auto focus (on all nikons, from what ive read) are just not quite as fast as brands like sony or cannon, but it does good enough if your subject is well lit. It doesnt affect me enough to drop down to a 4 star rating.

This was the upgrade I needed at a price point that allowed me to finally take the plunge into full frame. While I have been shooting with a Nikon for years, I have never had a full frame. As someone who shoots weddings and enjoys shooting events, I have found myself really exploring the many features and trying new things. Having compared the options before making my decision, I knew this camera would fit my specific needs without going overboard or not getting what I truly wanted in my upgrade.

This is my first mirrorless camera. Never realized how impressed I would be. It's fun to use with its many attributes that I still learning to use. It will be my primary landscape and portrait camera.

I have been a Nikon DSLR user for many years. I transitioned to the z7ii mirrorless from a D810. After a bit of a learning curve to get comfortable with the dials and menus I find this to be an amazing piece of hardware. I was reluctant to go mirrorless because of my comfort zone with the DSLR and its controls but I’m loving my new gear. Highly recommended

Upgraded to mirrorless from the D3300 I bought back in 2016. Wow. What a difference. With the FTZ converter I can keep my old F-mount lenses. I was focusing on GoPros the last 5-6 years. This is going to bring me back to photography.

Love this camera! It's lightweight, easy to use, and takes the sharpest photos. I have to give props to our sales person who helped us navigate using Christmas gift cards to buy it. He was great!

Good camera- better than the Sony I had before. I've had it for a bit over a year and use it for my full time portrait photography business. I will say I've had some issues with sharpness, though that's likely from not using native lenses. I also had to get the USB-C port fixed because it got damaged and wouldn't connect to my computer anymore. Lastly, I find that my camera changes settings on me without warning and unless I use the aperture or shutter speed lock, it auto adjusts settings even when in Manual mode which is very frustrating. Overall it takes great photos and has a lot of good capabilities. It's easy to use and I like the UI. I know mirrorless is the future but I never had these issues with my D750 DSLR.....

I decided go with the newer technology of mirrorless and love this camera so much. I really enjoy the electric viewfinder! All settings (ISO, shutter speed, and F stop) all show up in real life changes in light within the view finder. You can set this camera to beep when you shoot, if that's your thing, I have the beep off. It makes a quiet shutter noise that is similar to my old DSLR, that I prefer most of the time. However in instances where I want to be more discrete, there is a silent shooting mode where there is no beep or shutter noise... just a tiny motor noise which is barely audible. Works fantastic when I'm shooting photos of birds that can be very easy to startle.
All the button settings and dials on the camera can be customized to how you shoot. The pop up menus can be customized for the other settings you use most. It's a good weight, much lighter than my DSLR and smaller... yet it feels great in the hands and is balanced well. I don't use the LCD much but it works great and is touchscreen so you can use it to focus or change your settings at will and it also shows the changes in light. Another option I enjoy is the focus peaking. It has multiple colors and strength settings.
The only issue I see is that its auto focus can sometimes be a little wonky. It works excellent on people, and there is a pet option that does excellent on cats and dogs. However, birds and more fidgety animals can be a bit trickier... normally I turn it to manual focus and still get excellent results, but I wanted to give this a fair review. It is a little harder if you are used to shooting with autofocus, sometimes it's auto focus is focusing more on the beak than the eyes, especially trying to track animals. I almost exclusively shoot manual so for me it's not a big issue.

• A robust, weather-sealed build and comfortable ergonomics.
• Reliable autofocus and dual card slots, crucial for professional workflows.
• Impressive capability for stills, with solid video performance as a bonus.

Bought this camera body recently along with the FTZ adapter. I am a professional portrait photographer, mostly outdoor senior and family type photos. I have used D810, D850 and now the Z7II for these and having used it on three shoots so far, I can honestly say its fabulous, just fabulous, and I am picky about sharpness. Colors are wonderful, eye tracking focus never misses (yes these models are standing still), and it's nice and light. If you research the photography forums you will see some negative comments, ignore them, they are either commenting on the autofocus issues that have largely been resolved via firmware updates, or there is some picky personal preference that this camera doesn't have that they want (all axis screen tilt seems to be a big one). Bottom line, it's excellent, and even without the S lenses, using the FTZ adapter and my F mount lenses it is really really good. I sold my D810 and may, may even sell my D850, yes, it's that good.
Ok, that was the overwhelming positive, here are some picky peeves - you have to put a little time into learning the new "ecosystem" - auto focus options are a little different but not overwhelmingly so. You can only review images on both the screen and the view finder. There is no options to keep a live image in the view finder while chimping the screen. Again, not a big deal as you can just press a review button. I don't do video so I have no information on that.
Oh, and there is an AUTO BUTTON, the humanity.......
