I upgraded from a Sony system to the thx onkyo and there was a pretty significant improvement in functionality and tunability. This receiver also has specific output profiles for klipsch speakers, which is very nice. There's still some tuning that needs to happen after setting them, but the autotune function gets you pretty close once the speaker types are chosen. I knocked off a star because periodically it loses cec connectivity to my TV and since I use hdmi-arc for certain connections, this often requires fully unplugging the receiver and tv and then starting up again. It happens occasionally, but it's not the worst thing in the world. I'll also add the chromecast built in functionality treats it as a singular device and you can't group the system in with a "speaker group". This is a pretty major downside for me for whole home music when entertaining, but I just use a plain chromecast audio to fill this functionality instead. Soundstage is much more "present" on this system vs the Sony, and the treble on the klipsch horns really needs to be balanced down, but once set, the sound is fantastic!

I wanted to like this receiver. Out of the box the setup was simple and the sound was rich and amazing! However, the unit would randomly power off, especially when I was watching my TV through the digital coax. I unplugged the unit, got new AV cables, used banana clips for the speakers and even got a fan to help keep the unit cool and it still would shut off randomly. I spoke to Onkyo about it and they suggested a factory reset. That did not help either. I figured the unit was bad and tried another and sadly the SAME THING happened. Switched to another brand and so far no issues. Sad, it's a great value for what you get.

I took back an Onyko NR434 because it had a problem dealing with my Nvidia TV Shield Pro so I decided to try this unit out instead. No problems at all. Everything looks and sounds great through the Onkyo TX-NR6100. The remote feels a tad cheap but it does the job. One negative, holding down the volume button for more than a second either shoots the sound up to ear piercing levels or down to zero depending on whether your turning up or turning down.

Plenty of power to push 7 B&W speakers and sounding great doing it! Great receiver.

This is a great receiver. Very powerful and has all the latest inputs, etc. The menu displays on the TV screen making it easy to setup. Quick adjust buttons on the remote make it easy to adjust speaker settings. 5 star!

It's great. I got this receiver to replace one that was 25 years old. The upgrade in sound quality is clear. It has enough inputs to handle multiple game systems and streaming service devices, and I can listen to music from my phone in one room while my kids watch a movie in the other. The whole hose has become a speaker.

This replaced my 14 year old Sony STR-DH810 that had the display die on it. The TX-NR6100 does everything that my old Sony bugged me about. I've had this a month and I'm very happy with it. I'm looking forward to being able to hook my turntable to this and play my vinyl collection which my Sony couldn't do.

This has all the power needed to push my Cerwin Vega speakers, and the added Sony Dolby Atmos speakers.

Where do I begin? I bought this receiver to replace a 25 y/o JVC receiver. I needed something better than the optical connection from the new LG C2 I bought last year. Set-up was easy and the sound is really good. Now to the issue I'm having. I am unable to get the BlueTooth to work with my iPhone and iPad. I've reset it back to factory settings at least 10 times in the two days I've had it and Onkyo's support was unable to offer anything other than what I found online. After having it for 2 days, I didn't want to risk that some other feature might not work, so I am exchanging for another TX-NR6100. Even the Onkyo service desk suggested I do so. Hopefully the next one will work better.

Good bang for your buck! Hands down. Sounds great with my klipsch speakers. Many settimg for your liking. Great for surround sound watching movies. Or entertaining your guess with some great music. This receiver is by far the great i have heard. I have had pioneer, martaz,sony,Yamaha, many more..

I purchased this to replace my Denon receiver that I purchased some 16 years ago to gain 4K compatibility. The Denon was great but it was much more complicated to use and wasn't 4K compatible. This Onkyo is much easier use and easily allows me to get the sound I want from the various sources I use such as DVD, TV, ROKU, etc.

Easy to set up and use, Easy all around and great sound.

Great receiver that replaced a low end Denon S540BT where the HDMI board went out. Only gripe is the room calibration tool was not the best for example it put one of my fronts at 12' and the other at 6'. Also make sure to look at what the crossovers it sets up at for your speakers. Other than those 2 nitpicky items love it and has some great power,

I LOVE IT! My only concern is if it will experience similar problems its predecessors had which led to me having to make this purchase. As I understand it that was a firmware issue I just was not able to get the firmware updated and gave up on the frustrating process. This unit connected to my wifi and updated firmware right off the bat so I know it can do it as needed. I absolutely love the sound quality!

Sound is amazing and like that the inputs can be renamed. Highly recommend. The only negative thing i will say is that their customer service troubleshooting lacks alot to be desired. Just had an issue where the menu wouldnt load. They told me to do a factory reset when all it took was unplugging it from the wall. I would have been so mad had i reset it and had to start all of my settings from scratch.

Crisp, clear and booming bass!!!! Great surround for theater applications.

This has been a lifesaver for me since it is hooked up to my main television and provides awesome sound to my movies. Just have some Bluetooth connectivity issues at times.

It's a great receiver. You have to have a good setup of speakers to get the maximum out of this. I used Klipsh Speakers of 5.1.2. T'was pretty good.

Great sound with high quality specs. The automatic surround sound setup worked flawlessly.
