Excellent Home Security Solution!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using my Ring camera for a few months now, and I couldn’t be happier with the purchase. The setup was quick and easy — the app walked me through every step, and I had it up and running in minutes. The video quality is fantastic, both during the day and at night. I was impressed by how clear the night vision footage is, even in low-light areas. The motion detection works perfectly and sends real-time alerts straight to my phone, so I always know what’s happening around my home. I also love the two-way audio feature — it’s great for talking to delivery drivers or checking in on the kids without having to open the door.

Ring Camera Purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a great purchase. With one fish eye lens above my garage I can see my entire cul de sac, which includes all my neighbors and down the street. It was a great price due to prime day. The install was a little frustrating removing the stand and placing it on the back end. Installing above the garage required for screws for the back plate. That part was very easy. You may want to buy tracking for the wire, but I used staples for the power source (separate purchase).

A Ring home run
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Outdoor Cam Plus, Battery, with 2K Video, Ring Vision, Low-Light Sight, and Mount-Anywhere Versatility to place inside my window for outside viewing. I was initially concerned that recording through the glass wouldn’t work, but to my surprise, the video quality is crystal clear, and the colors are vibrant and true-to-life. The low-light performance is also impressive, providing sharp images even at night. Because of this amazing quality, I was so confident in the brand that I purchased a Ring Video Doorbell as well. I couldn’t be happier with my decision!

Good quality and price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With all Ring products they are decently priced and quality cameras. The only issue I have with this camera is the lack of mobility. I wish you could move it more freely. Overall I would buy again.

An easy to install and use outdoor camera with HDR
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ring Outdoor Cam plus is not my first Ring product. I love their video doorbells and have installed them at several relatives houses. It makes sense to have all your cameras in one app and I have continued to add a variety of Ring cameras to monitor my yard, garage, driveway, and living room. I have installed and tried other camera systems, but none of them are as easy to use as Ring products. Ring offers cloud storage at a reasonable cost, Alexa integration, and reliable remote monitoring via an easy to use app. I installed the Ring Outdoor Cam (plug-in) in my detached garage (my wife often leaves the doors open and I don't want my tools to walk off). I went with the outdoor plug-in version, because my garage is not climate controlled and I was worried what the Texas heat and humidity might due to a less hardy camera. Pros 1. Installation and setup are easy. The app guides you through the setup to connect the camera to your network using a QR code. There are multiple placement options (table-top/shelf stand or wall mount) and the camera is on a ball for easy adjustment. The base and camera each have an additional "security" screw to make it harder to tamper with the camera or remove it from the mount. The power cord has an overall length of about 17.5 feet, with an integrated/mountable power supply at the 7.5 foot mark (after which the cable transitions to a thinner DC cable that should be easy to route). The install kit includes a variety of screws for mounting and cable routing (including anchors for drywall/masonry). 2. The Clean, compact design easily blends in. There is only a small blue LED that is lit when recording and 2 infrared LEDs that can be seen above the lens at night. 3. Wide viewing angle and 2K video, with HDR and color night vision. HDR really improved the contrast when my garage doors are open, allowing you to see the driveway in bright sunlight and the darker garage interior at the same time. The viewing angle is also impressive capturing the entire length of my three car garage from a position near the entrance door with a good view down my driveway. 4. Two way audio and a warning siren to let you listen in, speak with people through the camera, and warn tool thieves you can see them. 5. Alexa integration allows you to view cameras, receive notifications, and make basic changes using an Alexa device. 6. The Ring application is fantastic - working well on all both my Android and Apple phones. It is easy to enable the camera, view historical events, change settings, and manage multiple Ring devices. You can even set up smart notifications (people, cars), configured detailed motion areas, and set linked triggers if you have multiple cameras (example: one camera might trigger an adjacent one to start recording to capture an event across multiple camera views). Things to consider 1. The 2K video is beautiful when viewing a large area and better than my older 1080p cameras, but things like text are still fuzzy when you zoom in. Having a bad Wi-Fi signal can make this worse due to compression and can also cause cameras to lose connection. I have a mesh Wi-Fi system so I have pretty good coverage and still had to restrict the camera to the 2.4Ghz band (using the router settings) to get the best performance. 2. Low light images are clear and color night vison increases the color you can see at night in mixed light, but the color is influenced by ambient light color (my driveway and breezeway lights give the garage a yellow tint with the doors open) and in low light (doors shut/all lights off ) video looks gray like a standard black and white camera.

Another Slam-Dunk from Ring
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another great camera from Ring. This Cam Plus with Video and Ring Vision is replacing one of my Ring Spotlight Cameras that just failed after eight years of use. I've always been satisfied with the quality and value I've received from Ring, and the Outdoor Cam Plus is no exception. Almost everything about this camera is great. It has crisp video, accurate and customizable motion detection, and the app is incredibly easy to navigate-even for first-time users. Ring has also made major improvements to its low-light capabilities and the addition of Pre-Roll video previews. These are features you don’t realize you need until you’ve tried them - once you have them, you won’t want to go without. Pre-Roll is especially useful for capturing motion just before an event is triggered. Essentially, the camera is always recording and can include 10 - 15 seconds of footage leading up to an event. This feature alone has helped me settle plenty of backyard arguments between my kids when the finger-pointing begins. There’s only one thing I really didn’t like about this camera: the way the mounting arm connects to the base. The Cam Plus ships with the mounting arm already attached to the base, but if you want to wall-mount it, you have to remove it and reattach it to the back of the camera. When you remove the single screw, two small plastic washers fall out of the mounting arm. Re-inserting those washers while repositioning the mount was a huge pain. I honestly think this part of the design could be much more user-friendly - especially considering that the washers need to be perfectly aligned for the screw to secure the mount properly. All things considered, you can't go wrong with this camera. I already ordered 3 more to replace my remaining 8 year old Spotlight Ring cameras. I definitely would recommend this system.

Worth the upgrade from Ring Stick Up camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using Ring products for many years. From their doorbells to their cameras. It is a great ecosystem with all their products working with one another. I currently have a couple of the Ring Outdoor Stick Up cameras. These have worked well over the years but their age is showing. Accessing the cameras to view live footage or reviewing are lagging. However, the video quality it records is still good. This new camera has a resolution of up to 2K. Installation is easy just like previous models with some improvements that I have noticed. The base of the camera can swivel in more angles, a lot more. I replaced on of my cameras mounted on the side of the garage door. With this new camera, I can now move it side to side and get better angles of the street. The view is also wider. This also has USB-C port/cable. Prior models have a barrel-style plug. It has mic and speakers. You can have two-way communication with the person it is monitoring. The improved performance, resolution, and improved mounting is worth the upgrade if you have just the regular stick up cam. If you are going to have multiple Ring cameras, you should at least have one Plus model for the reasons I have given. I recommend this camera if you are already using the Ring system or planning on using it. It is a great addition to their doorbell.

Great camera if you are already in the Ring system
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great new addition to Ring cameras and their security ecosystem. This camera is a wired "Plug-in" electrical outlet one and can be set up to work if you have access to an electrical outlet. This may not be ideal for everyone’s outdoor use, but I set up my camera in an outdoor location near an outdoor outlet. For me it would be a little too much work to have the wireless/battery version of this same camera in this location because I would have to pull the camera off the included mount and bring it in to charge it. This camera can also be set up to be used indoors as well. The camera comes with mounting hardware for various installation types, and was very easy for me to install. I would recommend that you make sure you pair this Ring camera to your ring app and account prior to mounting it in any fixed location, to be sure it maintains a good wifi signal to your router. There is no floodlight on this camera, which is good in my case, as I didn’t want motion detection to set off the floodlight on the neighbor’s side of the adjoining fence. This camera also has a low-light feature for night which also works very well. I have been a Ring user for a few years now, and have a ring doorbell, and a ring pan-tilt indoor camera as well at our home. While Ring may not have the most technologically advanced cameras, this Outdoor Cam Plus is only a 2k camera, what Ring does well is make everything super easy and intuitive to setup and use. Although the camera is 2k which I think is even more than enough resolution, I find that it is more than sharp enough for my use. I have it setup on the side of my home pointing down an area I previously did not have monitored. Setup was pretty quick and easy, and in just a few minutes I went ahead and mounted the camera. I have it setup pointing vertically so that it can catch the narrow space between my home and my neighbors fence. Overall, Ring I think has the best security ecosystem, and I would highly recommend this new addition to their outdoor camera.

Very good video quality and loads of features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently helped a family member install a Ring alarm system, so I’m somewhat familiar with the Ring and the functions. This was my first experience with a Ring camera. I was curious how it stacks of to other cameras I’ve used in the past. Setting up the Ring camera is just as easy as setting up the alarm. I plugged in the camera with the included power cable. Then I simply use the app to add a device, select camera and it worked seamlessly for me. After a few selections, the camera appeared in my Ring app dashboard. The camera needs the power cord to work, it can use a battery, but it is not included ($35). There are many camera settings you can adjust, some are common, such as motion sensitivity, motion schedules – to avoid getting notifications at certain times and days, camera zones – this would detect motion only in a designated area of the camera’s field of view. Others settings more unique to the Ring ecosystem, such as linking, an example for is having the cameras record when someone presses the doorbell, smart responses – camera can inform guest they are being recorded when motion is detected. I tested this camera by setting it up inside my house. I found the video quality to be very good in well lit conditions. The image is detailed and clear. In the app, the timeline makes it easy to scroll back to see when motion was detected. It even labels the motion in the timeline with “person”, it can also detect “vehicles” or “other”. In low light, the video is shown in color, a nice feature, first time I’ve seen that in any camera system. In complete darkness, the camera shifts to standard black and white. In complete darkness, even though the camera has night vision, it’s challenging for the camera to render video quality. This is true with most cameras though. Overall you get a lot of camera for the money, it’s got a lot of features more expensive camera systems have. The optional battery will run you $35, this seems a bit steep to me, almost 50% of the price of camera. Pet peeve: I wish they would design cameras that are more aesthetically pleasing, this reminds me of a garbage can.

Excellent top notch ring camera w/ great footage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This ring camera is outstanding. Video is crystal clear, and audio is crisp. Set up & connectivity was a breeze. Very durable so far with the Midwest weather conditions outside. Motion detection & alerting work very well. The camera has been very reliable so far. I have 4 of these cameras with a mix of both the battery and plugin models. The battery operating ones seem to hold up well with a charge. Would definitely recommend. Highly rated.

A good (not great) addition to the Ring system
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I currently have several Ring cameras indoors plus the Ring doorbell. This is my first addition of a Ring outdoor camera to my system. I choose a location where I could watch activity in my alleyway which also happens to be adjacent to a very busy parking lot. The camera comes with enough mounting hardware to place it in just about any position on any solid surface. The wiring is long enough to plug it into an outlet within 20 feet. Connecting to my WiFi network took longer than I expected. Once connected. it took several minutes to update. After that, it still required several minutes to be able to view the camera image in the Ring app so that I could decide where to physically place the camera based on the field of view and then select detection and privacy zones. The 2K color sensor is good, but not great, depending on how you want to use it. For example, at a close distance, such as a person at my garage door, I can determine if it is a friend or foe. However, further away, the image is not sharp enough to recognize a face or a license plate at a distance of greater than 15 feet. Tkink of the image as being similar to that of the Ring doorbell camera, but with a wider field of view. The audio system supports two-way audio and is similar to that of the doorbell camera. he Ring app does provide real time alerts. I have yet to test the alarm. Overall, it is a good addition to my Ring camera system and well-suited for this outdoor location. I recommmend it if you have a Ring system and are looking to add outdoor cameras to your system.
