I wanted the ability to turn the lights in my home on and off while away. This does that and more. A bit pricey but, the different features make up for it. You can turn lights on and off or set mood lighting right from your phone. Also have the lights paired with my Nest Protect smoke detector. So my lights will flash if an alarm is triggered. Phillips Hue app is a bit limited but, there are a lot of other apps that are compatible and might fit your needs. Overall a great addition if you are into home automation.

Bought this starter kit to hook up to my Amazon Echo. Set-up was super quick and easy and Echo controls flawlessly all the time so far. The lights are nice and bright and are comparable to "regular" bulbs. Nothing negative to report. already recommended to all my family to help get them started on home automation.

Used this to link up with an Amazon Echo. Added another Phillips HUE light as well as some less expensive GE Wink compatible BR30 lights (which the HUE controller supports). The HUE bulbs work flawlessly with the controller and the Echo. The GE bulbs sometimes don't respond, but one of those was defective (has been replaced and now working much better). Overall, the system is easy to use, being controlled either by my iPhone or via voice commands on the Echo. You can create groups enabling you to control more than a single bulb (think several lights in a room or area), so even if you have a wall switch that controls many bulbs, you can create a group that just turns on a subset of those - pretty cool. Overall, a very easy to use system that is expandable, reliable, and flexible. Highly recommended.

I bought this on sale at Best Buy so I could get a Hue base unit and a few bulbs. I also bought a few single colored Hue bulbs to go with it. It was easy to setup and use. I love being able to dim my lights from my phone. I just wish additional bulbs weren't so expensive. The white dim able bulbs aren't too much more thAn a standard LED bulb so that mAkes these worth the money.

Product is very easy to install, the brightness of the bulbs is more than enough for what I need (some people were complaining about bulbs are not bright enough). Had some issues with the HUB trying to update the firmware but closed the Hue App and worked just fined. Had some issues pairing my Nest Thermostat/Fire Alarm with Hue but after trying 4 times it worked. I liked that the bulbs start flashing when the fire alarm goes off.

Setup was very easy and the lights work great through the Android and iOS apps. It took some effort to get the lights to work with my Harmony Smart Hub. But finally worked that out. It does seem a bit expensive for LED lights that all you can do is dim or brighten using your smart phone/ tablet. There are less expensive solutions that do the same thing. Unfortunately those do not work with the Harmony stuff.

I absolutely adore this product. It has made life so easy. The set up was very simple and took little time. The best feature, besides being able to control the lights via an app, is the opportunity to use it remotely if you forget to leave the lights on.

I bought the Lux Starter Kit because I was having Knee surgery and couldn't walk to turn on lights around the house. I love the dimming option and lights will turn on or off in the schedule. The bridge was easy to install and linked to many other devises in the house.

First attempt using smart bulbs, have had these for about a month. Used the Phillips iPhone app. At the price point, the lux bulbs are certainly a little extravagant. But, as far as set up and operation goes, five stars.

I was hesitant to get into home automation, for fear that it might not work the way that I'd need. Another thing that made me hesitant was only wanting a white color scheme and not needing a varied color bulb for different moods. This was absolutely the setup that I needed, especially due to my needing the compatibility with Harmony Home Control. After going through the setup, there is a slight delay using the Harmony Home Control with the Phillips Hue Lux. Even with the delay, it is fantastic and plan on adding more bulbs to the current hub. I haven't completely looked into how to separate different rooms and if multiple hubs are needed, but that is definitely something I'll be considering for the rest of my house.

This is easy to set up, works out of the box, threw power failures, internet loss, removed bulbs, multiple loads (ipad and Iphone) and this setup works PERFECTLY!!!!! DO NOT BUY that Wemo JUNK!!!

So the kit comes with everythinf you need to get started. The bulbs do fit into the domes that my ceiling lights at home have to cover the bulb without any issue. The app works really well to control the lights from in your home or away from home. There are plenty of third party apps to download as well for extra features. Works with Harmony Remote a big plus for me personally. Recently the wall switches havent been working flawlessy as when I first got them but I have been having issues with other internet devices in my home too so I am sure its an internet issue not a Phillips Hue issue. But just he aware that if you have poor wifi at home this might not be for you.

great starter kit. Able to add hue lights and light strips in the future. Easy to set up. Also have a wink hub. Was easy to connect to it. Lights from your phone, good stuff.

I really like the product. I could control it with my iPhone and Apple Watch. I'm planning to add more LEDs. The price is bit high. other than that I would recommend this product

These are a great addition to my home. The control is excellent. Setup was easy, and I've since added a few led light strips as well. All working great.

I have been looking into purchasing the "hue" light system and I am glad I did. It is a very easy install which only requires you to read the instruction and place that with your home network. The features included with the Hue system make your home safer and more convenient because your smart phone can turn the hue lights on just by arriving or have them come on from pre-selected time. I highly recommend this and the other devices in the Hue family.

The Hue system could not be any easier to set up. I have another set of connected bulbs made by a large lighting manufacturer and the method of getting their bulbs connected is far more hit or miss than the Hue system from Philips. If you're an iPhone/Apple user I would hold off on purchasing a new starter kit until they update Hue to be compatible with Apple's fall-arriving HomeKit. Otherwise this is a great connected bulb package.

Finally an E26 bulb which can light a whole room. The previous hue starter kit with the non-lux bulbs did some some cool things in that it could change colors. Unfortunately the bulbs weren't bright enough to use as a primary light source. The lux bulbs change that. Now you can't change colors but the lights are bright enough to actually be used as a light. Still have a dimming function. The whole system is by far the easiest home lighting system out. I've tried WeMo and other wifi solutions and none work as reliably and easily as the hue system.

In order to start my Hue family, I needed a bridge that was way to expensive with the colored LED bulb starter kit. So I looked into this starter kit to get the bridge and tried out these bulbs and they turned out way better than expected. They brighten my room when needed and are dimmable. I never have to get out of my bed as I can control everything through my phone! I love it!

The idea of smart lights was something that took some time for me to wrap my head around. The idea was awesome that with your voice or app, you could control the lights. When I got these lights in place, it blew me away with how well they worked. I really enjoyed being able to use them and when I walk into my home, glad I can light the place up without too much of a fuss.
