Shatter prone, but almost a great headset

First, this headset is excellent for sound, comfort, battery life, and connectivity. It just doesn't stay in one piece. In 9 months (7 months of use), I've had to replace the headset twice. Both times, one of the plastic connectors joining the earpieces to the headband cracked, ending up completely shattered on the inside. The first break occurred after 3 months of regular use, under normal wear and tear. Razer replaced it under a "one time exception" to their warranty policy, but it took 2 months all told to get the replacement back from them between back-and-forth debates on "defect in manufacture" and "user abuse" and apparently the replacement request getting lost in several stages of warehousing. I will partially own up to the second incident, though - I put the headset in my carry-on bag for a flight over the holidays, without packing it back into the foam-lined box it's sold in, and it had a partial crack when I landed. Some reinforcement with electrical tape got me through another month, but once again the plastic ended up as a shattered mess with the earpiece hanging loosely by a cord. This time around, I replaced it through Best Buy's accidental replacement plan, and decided to give the model one last chance - though I'm leaving room in my budget to upgrade to something more durable in the near future in case third time isn't the charm. To the headset's credit, though - I use it for an average of 10 hours a day (work from home, social video calls, music, videos, gaming) and, when it's intact, I couldn't ask for a better headset. It's comfortable to wear, it can last for days (though I try to charge it every night or two), and it switches pretty easily between devices. I wouldn't call myself an audiophile, but the sound quality is fantastic, especially when you're plugged in to a PC for THX support. Overall, I'd *cautiously* recommend this headset if you're willing to treat it like it's made of eggshells, and if you get an accidental protection plan from the seller rather than the manufacturer (can't give Razer customer support many points, unfortunately). But you're probably better off looking for a different product line - this one seems to have the complex technology down, but not the basic engineering.

Been looking for good pair of wireless headsets for PS5 for a minute! All the ones I liked were either comfy but sound was low or loud and not comfy. I was finally giving up and said let me try these and so glad I did. They are comfy with a great battery and the sound on these are great. I have zero complaints with these. The SteeleSeries are louder but they are not as comfy. But sound on these are really great! If need a good headset for PS5 and gaming I recommend these big time!

The BlackShark V2 Pro is hands down one of the best wireless gaming headsets on the market. It nails the trifecta of sound quality, mic performance, and comfort—plus it’s built for competitive players who demand the best. Highly recommended for gamers, streamers, and anyone serious about audio performance.

    Amazing with one problem

Very great headphones for a decent price, build quality is amazing it feels light but sturdy and flexible. Comfortable on the ears and you won't even notice they're there. Sound quality is decent and they have the razer app which you can tweak it through. The mic quality is astonishing on these things it sounds like I'm a professional streamer or artist whenever I'm talking to friends in a party. The only problem I have is connecting to my asus zephyrus g16 laptop via the USB dongle worked once and then never worked again and I've had to settle with the convenient bluetooth option it has. (could be a windows 11 problem on my end) The headphones also connect to your phone or other devices. Overall these headphones look, feel, and sound premium.

Absolutely excellent set of headphones. 70 hour battery life, insane mic quality. The headphones are semi-noise canceling simply because they are closed ear headphones. There's no software noise suppression but you hardly need with these bad boys on. My only complaint is that there's too much plastic on the mic attachment. It's there to anchor the mic to the headset when plugged in, but can wriggle out of slot when adjusting the mic placement. Not a major deal, but as you can see in the pic I've attached, you're going to fight with the mic sometimes to plug it all the way in and keep it so. Overall stellar headphones if you have the money for it.

I don't typically review products that I buy, but I want to be sure that others have an understanding of what to expect from the quality of their products coming from Razer, and the support customers can expect to receive should the product's quality not match the price tag. I spend days researching headsets and decided on the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro. I purchased this headset in July 2023, and besides some driver-related initial sound issues, I was very happy with this headset. The sound was great (once working correctly) and the headset was extremely comfortable to wear. On December 3, 2023, my headset broke where the earpiece support arms meet the headband. The plastic clip broke a piece off (nearly hitting my eye but no injury luckily) when I was about to put the headset on. I want to make it clear that I take very good care of everything I own because work very hard to be able to buy good quality items that will last a long time. My headset is hung from a headset stand when not in use, and I am the only user of the headset in my household with no children. I promptly contacted Razer support and sent more pictures when the headband clip broke off the rest of the way. I recently changed departments at work, but previously worked in Quality Assurance inspecting plastic injection mold output quality for several years and quickly realized the headband clip's defect was caused by an internal structure failure where the plastic is injected into the mold from the injection nozzle. This is usually caused by insufficient pressure during the injection process, clogs in the injector nozzle, or the volume of the plastic material being under specification. The response received from Razer support is that this is not covered by the 2-year manufacturer's warranty. I've attached a screenshot of the response, with the name of the case worker removed to protect them backlash. Based off of my experience, I would not purchase another Razer product. You may feel differently, but if this review helps someone who is on the fence about who to trust for a quality purchase, Razer is not my recommendation. I'm out $200+, and back to using the Philips headset that I got on woot.com 9 years ago until I can save up enough money for another new headset - which will not be made by Razer. Reasoning for ratings: Overall rating is "Poor" due to low product quality, unhelpful customer service, and nonexistent warranty coverage. Value is "Poor" due to the cost of the item set at over $200 USD, yet unable to survive through 6 months of gentle use. Quality is "Poor" due to internal structural failure of a component caused by a defective plastic injection process and poor quality control and quality assurance. Ease of Use is "Fair" because after getting through the initial driver updates and configuring the Razer Synapse, Razer Cortex, and THX 7.1 Surround apps to work cohesively, the headset did work correctly until it fell apart.

I recommend this headset if you play cod or any games like valorant or ow2. I guarantee you won't regret it.

A great upgrade from the 2020 version. Many issues fixed, audio quality is still very good, still extremely comfortable. Easy to set up, practically just plug it in and you're good.

One of the best and most comfortable headsets I have ever owned. I have tried all of the newer headsets and this is the best overall. I would give every aspect of this headset a 10/10 but the mic. Thats a 8. Excellent product!

I bought this january of this year (its march now) and had no issues with it. The audio was amazing; incredible software support and good quality feel. The microphone is something else. Never had anything close to that quality on any other headset. And then it decided to completely fall apart on the left side when i took it off. This headset isn't good if you have a big head.

This headset is very comfortable, and sounds amazing, not just for a razer headset, but for any level of headset. The weight is good, and can be worn for hours at a time. This is my second device, because the first device broke, This is the only reason this is not a 5 star review, even with the break, the headset was so good, i ran out and bought another which i think speaks to how good in function the headset is. Also another positive, while the process was lengthy, Razer, after a bit of push and shove, warrantied the original headset, which has to be seen as a positive ultimately.

I have absolutely zero issues with this headset didn’t even realize it was Bluetooth as well but that’s a nice feature as the Logitech pro headset is not. I also like the black on black minimalist design with no RGB or colors out of a crayon box.

The sound quality is really good the only problem I am having just occurred yesterday after having it for a little over a year was the side tone not working. Other than that, the software was pretty easy to use and there are a bunch of settings you can look through to get the best sound you want

Bought in August 2024. Mic sounds fantastic, but headphones are sub-par at best. I am not one to really get deep into the mixing levels though, so maybe with some mixing, it would sound better. The real problem is that in December, a plastic piece on the right side snapped off. Headset worked fine still. I was annoyed, but didn’t want to pay to send the headset to razer and wait 2 months, so I just kept using it. Now in March, while putting the headset on, the right cup snapped off entirely and is hanging on by the wire. The headset had never been dropped, thrown, etc. I play games maybe 1-3 times per week for a couple hours. I pick the headset up, and place it down when I am done. A headset of this price has absolutely no reason to break in half while being put on (and it seems like a consistent issue among other reviews. I shouldn’t have ignored them, but I know that now.) This was my first razor product, and likely my last unfortunately.
