    Great Clicky Mechanical Keyboard

For the longest time, I have avoided clicky mechanical keyboards. Mostly because of preference and being more used to less clicky membrane keyboards. Until I had to buy an RGB keyboard to complete a full Razer set-up I was building, then I chose this Ornata model. First impression was that I find the lighting cool and configurable via the Synapse 3 software. There's a number of preset styles, or you can make your own. Second, I really like how the wrist pad attaches seamlessly via magnets alone! I was used to old fashioned keyboards where you have to lift the keyboard to attach the hard wrist extensions underneath. This one, you can easily put it on or off thru magnet. Third, it took some time getting used to the very clicky feel of the keys. At first, my typing was slow and full of mistakes. But I soon got very comfortable with it and now understand why a lot of people love mechanical keys. It is actually satisfying to type on and feel each keypress. It's also great for WASD gaming as you can really feel the feedback per keyboard stroke. However, since I also have a 2019 Razer Blade 15, I can't help but wish that this keyboard had individual key lighting. The lighting in this keyboard is by zones, so you cannot really clearly highlight specific keys, it has to be a group of keys. Even then, the lighting would still not be perfect. It's a minor gripe, given the keyboard's good performance and price. But again, the moment I see a keyboard with per key lighting, I probably would not hesitate to upgrade to it.

Best keyboard I've owned, so far, like the sound and feeling it has, and I was hoping it would come with this cushioned pad for my wrists, and it did, and the packaging was nice as well. The color cuztomization and effects are really neat too, I currently have mine set to a wave effect and goes really well with my PC

So, full disclosure, I've never used a mechanical keyboard before, but I was interested in getting a chroma keyboard to go along with my new chroma mouse. The mecha-mechanical was enticing as it seemed to be quieter than true mechanical, and I figure someone like me wouldn't be able to really tell the difference. Well, I'll say that playing games and typing on this keyboard is way more satisfying than on a regular membrane keyboard. The click of the switch provides really nice feedback. I love that it is full sized with the 10-key number pad as well. The half-height keys are great for me, as I've grown accustomed to the chiclet keys on a laptop over the years, and full height membrane keyboards have caused me to make a lot of typos ever since. The bottoming out is mushier than a mechanical (I would assume) but its not something that bothers me at all. So if you're not already using mechanical, and you are looking for something with the feedback benefits of a mechanical keyboard on the cheap, with the added benefit of the super comfy wrist-rest and the chroma RGB (which I love) then this is a great option.

This keyboard is really great with gaming and for if you wanna make a lightshow. This keyboard is really cool and as a lot of features that one of razers other keyboards dont. Its also uses a new button system called mecha membrane instead of mechanical keys. I do like mechanical keys better but the mecha membrane keys are a little more quiet than mechanical. Other than that this keyboard is great for the price and for gaming.

This is a great keyboard for the price. Was able to get it for under $50 dollars. If you want a loud mechanical keyboard then I would not recommend this one. This keyboard is on the quieter side for a gaming keyboard. It does click but not as loud as the other one Razer produces.

Wow! Needed a new keyboard and found this keyboard on sale from $99 to $29. Absolute steal. The keys are mechanical but don't make too much noise. The RGB lights are really nice and change with my background. 1 month in and so far a really solid purchased I'd recommend.

    Good So Far

I haven't had this long, but I really like it so far. I'm not one to really go crazy with the RGB but I was looking for a new, mechanical keyboard. I'm very picky with those types of keyboards and the sound they make. This one was perfect because it still has a tactile feel without being too clickity-clack which I hate. It seems responsive and the color changing is a bonus. I really do like it so far and I hope it lasts as long as my last Logitech which I still use at work!

Setting the various color combos to work om the keyboard is too much trouble just to see flashing lights. Other than that, it is nice to have a lit keyboard, even if the colors are static. Easy to use, solid feel.

I got this on sale for $30. I would not pay $100. The keyboard is great and types nicely, and the software to control the lights is pretty easy to use. The lighting options are pretty much unlimited. My only complaint is I’ve had the enter key and the shift key stick on me. They got stuck down and just kept typing. It only happened twice but I’ve only had it a little over a month.

I won't say this keyboard is the best bang for your buck, but it is certainly well made, and the RGB effects elevate it even more. You can also use Razer's software to customize the lighting, and although it isn't the best implementation, it is still a welcome feature. Overall, its a great keyboard if you either are willing to spend extra for its features or get it on sale like I did.

I type 10 hrs a day, 4 days a week for work. In translation, that's a lot of typing. Typical keyboards made by Microsoft, Dell, and the like do not last long. Decided to take a page from my gamer friend's book and invested into a "gamer keyboard." If you do the math, the Ornata pays for itself after a year's use. I'd go through at least 2 keyboards by then. Plus, chiclet keys are no friend to me. Ugh... So all in all, the Ornata keyboard is well built. It has a metal frame and meant to take some pounding. And that wrist support though... I. Can't. Even. So bloody awesome! And them lights. I know right?! That's like icing on the cake right thurrr. My gamer days are behind me, but that shouldn't stop me from having a well built keyboard. The only thing I would watch out for is key cap replacement and some of the switches spazzing out. Razer offers a 1 yr warranty though. Did basic troubleshooting by unplugging USB and then replugging back in. Working so far... In conclusion, the Ornata was purchased for work for durability reasons and I have no regrets. I highly recommend you to consider this keyboard even though it's a bit pricey. Happy typing folks!

Great keyboard with a mechanical feel but has a softer touch. I still get the same feedback and click clack and the RGB makes it a must buy for the price I paid! You really can't go wrong with Razer products.
