6 months of play time before review.

Before I purchased this Razor Wolverine Ultimate, Gen one Elite had been my favorite controller. The Elite Gen one and two are decent choices for sure. In my experience the analogs start to drift within 30 to 90 days. For the price, I feel like I should get more time before this process begins. I have owned my first Razor Wolverine Ultimate for 6 months and I did not experience drifting or buttons sticking. The only reason I’m on my second Ultimate is because I dropped a heavy object on the USB side of the cord and even though the performance did not change, I knew eventually it would become a problem. I had the extra Geek Squad protection and no questions were asked and I give much respect to the service I received from the staff. Customer service is always on point toward me. I’m 44 and I own a ton of consoles and accessories dating back to the 80’s so I have a good feel and experience on what I want with my gaming. I have large hands so ergonomics are very important. The extra buttons, button placement and overall design was well thought out and works well with my Racing and FPS games. My only minor complaint is I’m not a fan of the bright Led lights on the face. The application allows you to make adjustments to your preferences and is very precise and user friendly. I use this controller on my Xbox One X and my Skytech Gaming PC switching back and fourth is a flawless process. Soon I will add a second Wolverine when my Series X/S arrives. Some may not like the fact that it does have a cord, for me personally, I am very competitive and I prefer the direct connection with my controller and even to my router. I love the fact that the buttons click like the Razor gaming mouse. It’s a little thing but I like it. I would give more stars if it were possible. I hope I provided enough information for you to make a well informed purchase. This is just my experience and opinion so definitely do your research but I highly recommend this controller.

Previously owning a Xbox Elite (V2) controller, I can see why this is a better alternative. It's very light (no battery obviously) and the customization software is okay. For me personally, I think the controller is a little to small, or that my hands are a little to big. The extra bumpers are kinda annoying tbh. Overall, it's good enough for a competitive advantage.

Plugged in and worked immediately for my PC. I didnt need drivers or any kind of set up. The RGB effect is cool and the additional triggers and paddles are in very comfortable positions to use. 10/10 would recommend over any other "Pro" or "Elite" controllers

Very cool and fun to use. Only part is a little hard is downloading the app to set up and modify the buttons. You have to go through Xbox and find the razer app. Besides that the buttons feel and work like a PC mouse. Quicker resound time. Better than the elite. Well worth the money. I like the cord so I don’t have to keep buying battery’s or charging them. It’s long enough for a bedroom use setup. Can make it longer.

I bought this controller because i was having trouble with the new Xbox controllers on pc. They would randomly drop wireless connectivity sometimes snd some games that i had used the old Xbox one controllers on no problem began giving me issues when i switched to the new Xbox controllers. I also could not find a new Xbox elite controller for sale from any retailer. So the price for this controller tends to vary a lot especially in the last few months so make sure you’re checking around for a price match before you purchase. As of the date of this review this controller is $50-$60 cheaper than the Xbox elite controller Ok so I’m going to start with the cons first. I use this for PC , and the wire is super super long so it’s kind of a nuisance. This controller also has some features like the mute button for example that are better suited for console and i also don’t utilize all of the extra buttons. I really think if you’re a PC player you’ll do just fine with the Wolverine tournament edition or the Wolverine v2 for a cheaper price. I wouldn’t pay full retail $140-$160 for this unless i was a console player who didn’t mind having a wired controller. The protection plan is also pretty pricey but i ordered it anyways so at this point i could’ve bought 2 tournament editions for the price of an ultimate condition w/protection package. The app that you use to adjust the controller settings isn’t the greatest to use but works fine on pc. Pros- interchangeable d pads and analog sticks are great to give you more options. I love the trigger adjustment and the case that the controller comes in is super super nice. I actually bought one of these for myself and 2 for friends because i liked it so much and they were on sale. I LOVE the RGB lighting. It is subtle but just provides a little better sight of the controller in a dark room. After a couple of games you will get used to the controller and resume normal pwning activities. I tend to like razer products but they will only honor warranty repairs from authorized retailers that’s why i purchased new off bestbuy. Overall 4.5/5 stars due to lack of being wireless and the razer controller app not being that great

Took a bit to get used to, about 36 hours of play time to be at the top of my game. But once I reached it I havn't been happier. I know this is said a ton, but if you're new to razer controllers, those extra buttons (M1 & M2) are so natural to press without compromising the feel of Lb & Rb. Durability doesn't seem bad, the constrution feels nice and not cheap. The buttons although very easy to press, have not seemed to wear at all. It hasn't even been a month yet since I've owned it, but believe me when I say I'm a very brutal gamer. I play Fighters, MMOs, Shooters, etc. Some games hitting 4-6 inputs per second for hours. This controller hasn't let me down yet. The only downside is if you're into rgb, you can't change the color of the on light, only that rgb strip bar. I don't care much for rgb, and I don't mind turning off the bar or making it white like the power light so yeah. 10/10 will buy again for my pc setup.

Razer brand products are my go-to for quality on accessories for consoles and PC. They have not let me down. I got this for it's gaming setup where it gives me extra buttons to use as well as the fact it has all sorts of ways to fix it up so it works best for me. Even d-pad options that let me customize which to use, which works better with which game. It's a perfect fit from the analog sticks height to whether you want buttons or a smooth d-pad. The color setup is fun if you're going for a certain look. 2 thumbs up if you're looking for going above standard controllers to something you can customize just to fit you and your preferences!

Controller feels good with rubberized grips and clicky more responsive buttons than a standard controller. The D-pad and dpad replacements are VERY BAD. Dont get this controller for the D-pad. Youre much better off with any standard Xbox one controller by Microsoft for that. The bumpers and triggers feel very plastic and cheap, like they may not last. One of the analogs seems like it may already be getting drift issues. The elite controllers also break within a few months. I dont have enough hours on this controller to compare durability yet. There is a feature on the paddles to slow or accelerate aiming speed and it works great for some games. Stick tension doesnt have much resistance. I like the higher stick tension setting on the elites, but as mentioned the controllers do not last. This may be a good alternative to the Elite controllers.

It's not Scuf, but it's worth it

Not cheaply made, a little heftier than I expected. The magnetic joysticks can occasionally be knocked off if you're into some intense game play No issues with the Xbox App to program the controller. Macro buttons take some getting used to and you will find yourself constantly accidently hitting them or forgetting you have them In it's default setting the bottom paddles decrease and increase your controller sensitivity as long as the button is held. This is good for slowing down your aim while long range sniping, or speeding up your aim speed while in close quarters. These paddles can be remapped to any other button on the controller as well. This controller is NOT wireless. Something I overlooked when purchasing. That being said, it comes with a 10ft braided cable that slots into the controller to stop the plug from breaking. My only real gripe about this controller is that the paddles on the bottom do not come out to the sides. This makes them difficult to manipulate at times

I don't know what to say about this other than i play a lot of rocket league and this controller is ... perfect. the extra inside bumper buttons are great. the tactile gaming-mouse feel to all of the buttons is amazing, the analog sticks feel way more sturdy This is genuinely much better than my elite series 1 controller, and another friend had already sold his series 2 elite to get this controller (which was enough convincing to make me take a leap on a 3rd party controller) This is better than any controller microsoft has released since the xbox 1 came out, aside from needing to be wired (i'm perfectly fine with a wired controller) This is the controller you want if you want "the best" -- IMO

Just go get it. Is it wired? Yes. Would it be cooler if it was wireless? Yes. Would it be neater if the controller cord was longer than 10 feet? Yes. With all that said, this is hands down the best controller I have ever used and I have been gaming for decades. I was a big fan of the xbox elite and xbox elite 2 but I ran into shoulder button issues. My awesome Best Buy warranty fixed that. So, I turned in my last Elite 2 and then gave this controller a shot and I am not looking back. 6 programmable buttons. The controller feels great, sticks feel great and the buttons feel great. Run out today and get it. As a matter of fact, I will probably another one so I can have a back up. Love it!!!

Surprised by the quality and modifications in the button layout. I also own the elite 2 controller for the xbox and i find the wolverine to be lighter. I purchased it due to sway issue with the elite 2 (which i sent off to Microsoft for repair) the only thing really that i prefer on the elite 2 at this point is the grip texture but besides that im starting to prefer the wolverine over it for my gaming needs.

Love the controller. Nice coloring the rgb effects are great the buttons feel better the a regular box controllers. Love the hot swap for the joysticks. The extra buttons are easy to program. The software for the controller is very easy to navigate. The cord is braided and very long and has a tie on it to shorten the length for good cable management.

Good Quality, very responsive, and love how you can switch profiles on the fly. the things that I dislike are that you cant set a button to do what you want, you can only change it to replace existing buttons, the app you use to set it up its a little bulky because you have to use the controller to navigated and the lights donot match other razer keyboard or mouse.

I wasted money on the scuf prestige. this thing is 10000% better if you can deal with a cord. The paddles are built in so they dont crack and cost you $12 every time you break one of a different shape. Button placement is much better, audio controls at bottom are icing on the cake. no gritty crap all over your controller from the thumbsticks deteriorating. you can feel the difference as soon as you pick it up.......i could go on for days.

One of the best controllers I have owned, but both D Pad options were pretty terrible for fighting games or platformers so I had to return it. I've owned the Wolverine TE, Elite 1 and Elite 2, and this controller has the best paddle/rear button placement of all of them. If it was wireless and had a better D Pad it would be perfect. Would recommend picking up on sale.

Tactile push buttons and ergonomics give this controller an edge right from the start over the OEM controller. The added programmable buttons also add a custom edge while playing FPS games. Overall I would Recommend this controller.

Love this controller and all the different customizable mapping you can use for both the PC & Xbox. Live how the buttons click like a mouse, faster response.
