Terrific remake of a classic game. A lot of improvements were tackled for this one. Performance is fantastic, even better on current gen consoles (2022). Can't go wrong in picking this up, specially at a low price at BBY!

This resident evil 2 remake is truly awesome with better camera angles, graphics and original music. A must buy for any RE fan or zombie fan as well.

If you're in your 30's like I am, chances are you grew up playing the old Resident Evil games. They were amazing at the time, but if you try to play them nowadays, whoa boy...you're in for some struggles. It's not that they are bad, it's just that modern gaming has improved upon some of the 3D mechanics that these early games just didn't have a grasp on yet. So, when I read that Resident Evil 2 was being remade, my first question was, "what about the controls?" Suffice to say, I wasn't disappointed because the controls and overall gameplay has been completed revamped. Below is a quick bulleted review of the PROS and CONS of this release... PROS: - Incredible graphics. Totally overhauled (obviously since it's re-creating a PS1 game) and it looks beautiful. - Movement has been modernized. Gone are the tank controls of yesteryear, instead replaced with modern controls. - Immersive story with new cutscenes and a more believable tale with less hamfisted dialogue. - Like playing the original all over again, but for the very first time. CONS - This game is tough. It's the same game as before with the stalking enemies and the overall lack of ammo. Thankfully, there are difficulty levels. - Obtuse puzzles. This isn't really a pro or a con, but if you're not familiar with these types of games, you might need to utilize a guide. Overall - highly recommended and will probably be on some peoples Game of the Year Lists for 2019. If you've been itching for a new survival horror game, think about picking it up!

what can i say? It's a classic game. you can't be from the 90s and not know about Resident Evil. Overall the graphic is a lot better than the OG Playstation version. At $10 cannot beat that deal. only downside is once you beat it , you probably won't play again for a while. Or maybe because im old lol

This game has all the great story elements from the original with areas where they expanded the details. The controls are a welcome improvement over the original tank controls. The only part that can be annoying is that the base zombies can take quite a few handgun shots to put down.

I had played the original back when it first released. It’s insane that I am more terrified of this game then when I was young. The upgraded visuals, controls, sound and lighting make this truly an amazing remake. Absolutely recommend this game. Survival horror at its finest.

I will admit that I had never played the original Resident Evil 2, but I really enjoyed the first Resident Evil Remaster so I thought I'd give it a shot. This game has everything a Resident Evil fan could want. Jump scares, intense action sequences, and smooth gameplay all make this a great experience. You can choose to play as either Claire Redfield or Leon Kennedy, with each character having 2 distinct playthroughs featuring different enemies, items, storylines, and locations. There are also a few additional game modes, so there is plenty of replay value. The inclusion of the Mr. X character constantly following you adds an extra layer of fear and tension that enhances the experience. This game is not for the faint of heart, but fear not! There is an assisted mode for those (like me) who need a little help getting through the challenging experience.

I have never played the original but after hearing reviews and knowing about the franchise I decided to buy this on sale. The game is pretty difficult and you have to conserve ammo a lot. The atmosphere is just the right amount of creepy as well. Graphics look great on my series x even without the upcoming patch. Overall definitely recommend for most gamers but some may not enjoy the difficulty.

Bought this game because I was looking for something different to play and had seen it got really good reviews. Pro's: Graphics are amazing and story line sucks you in. If I had to find any fault ( and it's solely a personal preference ) the game has too many puzzles. I prefer games where's there's enough ammo take everybody out. If your looking for a game that has a balance between action, puzzles and at times killing zombies this is the game for you. All that being said no matter what your preference this game you still be glad your bought this game.

The updated graphics look amazing. The controls are smooth and the story feels fresh. I hope they keep remaking the older Resident Evil games cause if they do I'll keep buying them.

The original Resident Evil 2 was regarded as one of the best survival horror games of its time, and arguably ever, making any type of remake a difficult task to take on due to its source material. Boasting impressive Japanese development and keeping the original game's spirit intact, the modern Resident Evil 2 here is probably the best survival horror game this generation of consoles have seen thus far. The atmosphere of the game is continuously tense and gloomy, puzzles are abundant, supplies remain relatively scarce and the classic Resident Evil vibe is present throughout. What more, then, could any Resident Evil and/or horror fan ask for? Highly recommended!

Game was scary as **** could of made the side missions a little easier but love a challenge.

Amazing Remake! The original was my favorite in the series and this surpassed all expectations!

Having only played Resident Evil 7, I was still feeling like a newbie to this style of horror survival style. Limited ammo, not killing every zombie that comes your way, it was different from what I'm use to. After a little time, it seemed easy to adjust to. You learn to he conservative with ammo, when to fight or flee. The puzzles aren't very challenging (to me, although I have little over 2 decades of gaming) but they are fun. I still have a ways to go on finishing the game 100%. I'm about 1.5/4 playthroughs. Plus there's been free DLC, so that's a plus.

Resident Evil 2 has rightfully gone down in history as one of the best survival horror games of all time. This game, is a remake of the original and it shines in every way. It has two campaigns, one for each playable character and the two campaigns intersect at different points, and diverge at different points- making for quite an adventure! The graphics and sound are amazing. Buy this if you haven't got it already!

Love this game so far. It's gone back to the good days of when Resident Evil was truly a survival horror. If your a fan of zombies, horror, or Resident Evil you have to pick this game up. The sound track is great and really gives it a scary vibe. I'm playing in an Xbox One X and the graphics are truly stunning. My only critique is it seems like zombies can sometimes take too many bullets to kill. Sometimes they die in 3 head shots, sometimes they take 10. That can be a little frustrating.

The game is well worth purchasing if you are into survival horror or just Resident Evil in general. This game is an excellent remake of the original second game with all new graphics with HDR10 support and Dolby Atmos (XBOX ONE only) for an immersive horrifying experience. The game may scare you away at times, but eventually you'll return to the game with it's highly addictive gameplay and eerie atmosphere.
