I love this alarm system. My fiancé and I bought this when we bought our house. It makes me feel really safe on top of having my dog with me at night if I’m home alone. Very easy to use.

So far so good. Simple to setup and use. Small home and haven't setup the range extender, as I haven't needed. I like the rechargeable keypad as I can take to bedroom at night and family room in daytime.

Awesome alarm system! Very easy to set up and use with the app. Notifications are sent to your phone every time a sensor is activated. Battery backed and controllable with keypad when internet is down. Loud siren.

Very easy to install and set up. Great price from BEST BUY. I bought the system on a Black Friday Sale.
Only wish I had done this earlier. The system works great and the monitoring costs are significantly less expensive than my prior system.

Easy Setup. Since I had bought the ring door bell and echo show 10 together. It made sense to get the alarm system. Quick and easy to tell Alexa to set alarm for away

Bought this during the holiday season and installed within minutes. Integrated seamlessly with Alexa commands and also has the best monitoring system for the price.

We purchased our Ring 8 Piece as we had other ring products. Having total tech support with Best Buy was helpful if we needed it. The device was easy to set up and activate and we were able to do it on our own. We tested it several days before converting to monitoring which was a simple option and it allowed us to avoid false alarms.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. We are pleased to read that you are enjoying your new Ring Alarm Security Kit 8-Piece! This security system has been working well for us so far, the battery life on everything seems to be pretty good and it gives us peace of mind.

I rate this system good, but not great. I had purchased, installed, and used a Simplisafe system at my previous residence for a couple years, so I have a good reference for comparison, as this system is a pretty close competitor in style and price point.
1. Affordability: Ring wins this one. I would say this and the Simplisafe system, when purchased during promotions or sales, seem to be close enough in price for the initial purchase that I didn't see a big difference there. The simplisafe system does provide the ability to create a more custom set of sensors in the initial purchase and get better pricing with the initial purchase, whereas Ring pretty much as set bundles, and then you have to pay normal pricing for any other items a la carte. However, post-purchase, if you have the subscription with Ring, you get a nice discount on additional accessories, which is much better than Simplisafe, which gives pretty much zero price breaks outside of when purchasing a new system with base station. Ring wins for sure when paying for monitoring; their monthly rate is just notably less expensive. Hopefully it's as good!
2. Completeness: Simplisafe by a small margin. The Simplisafe system has sensors that do not exist with ring, such as the glass break sensor, which was a bit disappointing. However, the Ring system has a very nice retrofit kit that allows tying in existing wired sensors; that was a big part of why I decided to give Ring a try. It's overpriced for what it is, but I did get the discount for having a paid Ring subscription set up before buying it, which helped a bit. It was very easy to install and get working, and was a much better solution than adding a bunch of wireless sensors to doors and windows that already had wired sensors integrated in the frames. The reason I still say Simplisafe wins is due to the missing specialized security sensors that almost any other security system includes.
4. Interoperability: Ring wins this one, hands-down. Their app is better and they have better compatibility with 3rd party vendors. Simplisafe is too closed.
5. Usability: Tie. Simplisafe has a better keypad. It's antiquated in some ways with its throwback style display, but at least it has a display. The ring 2nd gen keypad has no indicators on it whatsoever. Additionally, the functionality, requiring the input of a PIN to change from any mode to any mode, is a bit silly. The Simplisafe system only requires a PIN to switch from an armed mode to a disarmed mode. I shouldn't need a PIN to switch from disarmed to an armed state. I also should be able to glance at the keypad, or at worst, press a button on it, to get feedback as to what mode the system is on. The base station is the only thing with an indicator, and I don't keep the base station in a visible location; I don't consider it a fashion statement in my home. Additionally, the base station is the only place where there is a speaker for letting me know the system is counting down. This is also frustrating, as I have had a couple of false alarms due to not realizing the system was counting down because I simply couldn't hear it. All that said, Simplisafe's app is not as feature-rich as the Ring app, so Ring maintains a tie in this category for that reason alone. I really wish Ring would make the keypad a little more usable, though.
So, while Ring won in a head-to-head with Simplisafe from my perspective, it still has room to improve. It needs a more complete set of sensors akin to that offered by Simplisafe, and they still have a good bit of work to do on the camera software motion detection, as well as giving me the ability to set more specific customizations for recording behavior.

Easy to install and link to home network. Batteries last a LONG time (haven't had to replace any since install last year, other system were needing replacement about every 3 months).

Excellent system. Have been using it for about 6 months now and it hasn't had any issues. Am using it in a small business and rings team has been excellent. Wish some sensors had hardwired power instead of battery though.

Easy to operate and able to observe wherever I am from my device. This security system is better than the one I was paying hundreds of dollars for each month. Inexpensive, reliable, and dependable.

The alarm was purchased more for internal home monitoring than for burglary prevention.
The only complaint is that the settings seem to be ALL or NOTHING. Each monitor can be turned on or off manually, but the one click set button arms a terribly loud alarm that doesn't appear to be disabled. So someone too slow to disarm gets blasted by noise.
