Get a regular chime and a better extender instead

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ended up getting a Ring Chime Pro hoping it would solve the poor resolution of Ring cameras. It didn't. This extender helped extend Wi-Fi a little and improved signal strength a bit. It has plenty of volume as a door bell chime. I ended up getting a more powerful extender from a trusted name. It improved the signal strength more than the Chime Pro. Unfortunately, Ring cameras just have poor resolution.

Most Ring security cameras are designed to provide up to 1080p HD video, so that you can see any activity around your home. We would love the opportunity to work with you to ensure your devices are performing as intended.
It sounds like you have some concerns with the video quality you are seeing, even after improving the signal strength. In this instance, your wifi speeds may be impacting the video quality. We recommend running a speed test to confirm that your speeds are sufficient for optimal performance. Follow these steps to run a wifi speed test:
Turn off your mobile phone’s cellular data and connect to the same wifi network as your Ring device.
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (☰).
Tap Devices.
Select your device.
Tap Device Health.
Under Tools tap Test Your Wifi.
Tap Start to run a test that will measure your upload and download speed.
Both upload and download speeds should be at least 1 Mbps or greater, but 2 Mbps or above is ideal.
Check the numbers on your wifi speed test. If either your upload or download speed are below 1 Mbps then you might consider replacing your router (especially if it's older than five years). Contact your internet service provider to learn more about getting newer equipment and faster speeds.

Good Chime

Is as big as the electrical outlet it's plugged into. Extends my wifi very well for things in my living room. Night light is nice to have for late night trips to wherever. I think there is a problem with picking up the door bells. I don't always hear it but my cell phone rings so I know someone is at the door.

Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issue you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like you are experiencing issues with the device in regards to notification. Even with your Chime Pro, your router is still your main source of connection for your Ring device. Ideally, the maximum distance between the router and your device is 20-25 feet with the Chime Pro about halfway between the Ring device and your router. If possible, try moving the router closer to the device. Also, make sure your router is not in a closet or behind furniture, like a sofa, so the router has an unobstructed signal.

We have two ring doorbells. One of them is located about 50-60 from the router so the extended worked wonders with that doorbell.

All my Ring devices are connected to this device, connectivity was very easy, and is working perfectly. The chime is also loud enough to hear throughout the house. I will recommend this device to anyone.

You can have it relatively far away from the Ring camera and it will still work well. Easy to set up and control. The one piece of equipment from Ring that has not given me any issues so far

It was easy to install and program. I love the features. It gives you many, many choices for your ring tones and other things and set-up is a breeze. Also love the night light feature.

I can set Ring and motion tones to my liking. It has a night light which is a plus. So glad I bought it, my only regret is not buying it sooner.

I like how it is much flatter than than previous model and that it has an LED nightlight. The sound it produces seems louder than the previous model and connectivity has been really good.

The setup was simple it even talks you through the process. One of the best features is the nightlight you can turn off and on.
