This Ring camera system comes with everything you need to get started: the camera, various mounting hardware, a heavy-duty power cord, and even a small sticker for your window. Personally, I love that this camera plugs in, as I don't have to deal with the hassle of changing batteries. The initial setup was a bit frustrating. I downloaded the app to set up the device, but it kept insisting I needed to update the app and rescan the QR code, even though the app was already up to date. After hitting this roadblock, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and thankfully, that resolved the issue. From that point on, the setup process was seamless. The camera connected quickly, and the app walked me through mounting the camera step by step, complete with clear, detailed pictures. I chose the wall-mount option, and the guidance was excellent. The camera’s video quality is outstanding—extremely clear. It offers customizable notifications for people, vehicles, or general motion detection, depending on your preferences. Recorded videos are neatly organized on a timeline, making navigation a breeze, and you can also select the live view option to monitor activity in real-time. This camera is packed with features! You can download videos, take snapshots, filter clips by motion type, and easily share videos in various ways. I especially appreciate the ability to snooze notifications, which is perfect for planned activities within the camera’s range. All in all, while the initial app hiccup was frustrating, the camera’s performance and user-friendly features more than make up for it. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable and feature-rich security camera system!

It's an average camera. It does what it's supposed to. Let's start with setup. Some of the packaging is a little hard to get off, but overall it's not too hard to open up. Assembling it is fairly straightforward. You do need to charge the battery via the included Micro USB cable before you start using it. I left it on charging overnight and it was fully charged in the morning. Setting it up is very easy. You just need to download the Ring app and scan a QR code on the camera. After that, it's quite simple to set up. It uses Wi-Fi to connect to the camera I believe. The picture quality is pretty good as well. You can clearly make out faces (although I haven't tried it in the dark) and the video just looks clear overall. You can also receive and send audio via the microphone and speaker in the camera, which is a neat feature. Now for the negatives. Firstly, the camera requires actual mounting, I'm not sure if this is just me, but I thought "Mount it wherever" meant that you didn't need to drill any holes or anything. This was kind of annoying. Secondly, you need a subscription to actually use the camera fully. From what I can tell, the only thing you can do without a subscription is view the camera live, enable motion detection, and turn on the siren. Other than this, it's basically useless without a subscription, which is the main reason I gave it such a low rating.

I am a more and more a Ring convert. The doorbells and cameras are easy to setup, share across family, and the Ring app is intuitive and user friendly (would be perfect with Homekit support). At home, I only have a single flood light camera but have been wanting an outdoor camera - mostly to keep an eye on the yard when we're on vacation, but don't wan a permanent solution. The Outdoor Cam Plus fits my needs perfectly - can attach and power it via the generous long included cord using an outlet on my deck. Initial observations is the Ring Outdoor Cam Plus is bigger than the indoor cameras, notably bigger. I am guessing to better weather proof it. The USB C power cable has ample length with the power transformer about mid way into the cable, which is s smart design decision because then there's no bulky wall wart - so it fits neatly into weather proof outdoor outlets. I do kind of wish the cable was black not white, same for the camera really, as it would make it more discrete - there are black versions of the Ring Outdoor Cam Plus, which I would probably get instead next time. The only other comment to make is the mount does allow you to install the camera with the mount attached against the wall (if you need) but the mount is super tight. The first time I tried to adjust it I thought I would break the mount - but it just needed a firm pull and click. Worth knowing.

Good product but prep for setup instructions not good. Vague. Plastic parts assembly are very hard to click together almost feeling like to break it before final assembled.

Ring has gone down hill. Customer service is always ify. You could get the same answer to almost anything. Now with the USB CONNECTION ON THESE don't think your solar panels will work and the old models included a adapter cable .... Not this time sold separately or buy a new panel. More money and frustrating thinking it would work out the box with no issues. I have yet to see the difference in the previous 1080P 3rd gen wireless cams. So far view looks like looking through a peep hole. Rounded like. I will update later.
