Best Buy store at Bay pkwy (Brooklyn) selling this camera as new. It's someone return. Was missing mounting hardware and plate. Ring does not sell those accessories. So, watch carefully that you buy.

Ring Pan and Tilt camera to add to your system

Ring - Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam with 360° Horizontal Pan Coverage, Live View & Two-Way Talk, and HD Video The Ring Pan and Tilt Indoor Camera is built from the ground up to offer a 360-degree view of the inside of your home. It’s built to Ring’s high standards and is small, clean-looking, and well-built with various mounting options. It can be purchased in either White or Black, and it is small enough to blend into the background. It can be placed on a table or shelf or mounted to the wall or ceiling. Included is a charging brick and a USB-C to USB-A charging cable. There is no option for battery power or backup. There is a manual privacy cover. Like most Ring products, installation is a snap. Download the Ring App or integrate it into your current Ring App by adding a device, scanning a QR Code, and following some very brief instructions. From unboxing to setup and recording it only took about 5 minutes. Then, you set up and adjust motion zones and sensitivity settings and play with the pan and tilt. You receive all the parts that you need to mount it to the wall or ceiling if you choose instead of popping it on a shelf or desk. And of course, what is nice is that you can change the orientation of the view if you have mounted it to the ceiling. The lens is wide angle so you can monitor a large area and it has a slight fisheye distortion to accomplish this but it isn’t detracting from the overall view. The Cam has a 1080P quality and has color night vision. Of course, the big thing is the Pan and Tilt, which allows you to change your view and scan the whole room with only one device. The Pan is 360 Degrees. In the mobile app, when you access live view, you will find a menu that lets you rotate the camera left and right or up and down and you can digitally zoom in on things. The two-way talk is clear but you will have to get used to a slight delay just like a doorbell camera. You can also use the microphone on the camera to monitor the room the camera is in. The privacy shutter is manual, so you must keep this in mind once it is moved into place. A subscription for cloud storage is available for a fee if you already have other Ring cameras; this is available for the whole system. A free 30-day subscription comes with the camera if you haven’t already subscribed. One thing to note is that with the subscription, you get advanced pre-roll, allowing it to capture footage up to six seconds early to capture motion events better. You can share this, like all Ring products, with others. The people you share with have basic functions. Complete control and setup are done by the Owner. Cons: • The camera doesn’t automatically rotate to track motion until it is out of range. • Mechanism for Privacy can’t be disengaged remotely • No Battery backup • No SD card slot for keeping videos or snapshots locally at the camera. • This version is only for indoor use. Pros: • Easy to setup • Easy to use • Good quality build • Works seamlessly with other Ring products. • Small and attractive • HD quality of video and snapshots • The microphone and speakers are good quality • Ring is a trusted and reliable brand for home security • Can share with other members. • Wide angle view with only slight fish-eye distortion This is a nice, attractive unit and can cover a large area. It works well with other Ring products. It works well with good Pan-Tilt control and a microphone and speaker. I would like to see a remote control privacy feature and local SD storage. And who wouldn’t like even higher resolution, like 4k or 12 MP? But even without these other features, I would recommend this indoor camera system.

This ring camera has a really good quality and is able to serve a large area due to the fact that it has pan and tilt functionality. If you have a Ring subscription, you gain some additional software features and you can locally record if you have a ring pro alarm base station and supply memory to it. Overall, the device has been good and works well in decent wifi, it is sluggish if you are at the end of a wifi zone. I got this one sale, forty dollars for the level of functionality is awesome!

Installation Setting up the Ring camera was incredibly straightforward. The package came with clear instructions and all the necessary tools, so I didn’t have to run to the hardware store for extra supplies. The app walks you through every step of the setup, from mounting the camera to connecting it to Wi-Fi. Even someone who isn’t particularly tech-savvy would find it easy to install. I also appreciated the versatility of the mounting options. The camera can be installed almost anywhere, whether it’s a wall, ceiling, or even a flat surface. I chose to position it above my front door for a clear view of the entryway, and it provides excellent coverage. Video Quality The video quality is outstanding. The camera offers crisp, clear HD footage, even in low-light conditions. The night vision mode is a game-changer—it provides a clear view of my property even in complete darkness. Whether it’s a sunny day or a rainy evening, the camera consistently delivers high-quality video. The wide-angle lens captures a broad area, so I don’t have to worry about any blind spots. I can see everything from my driveway to the porch with a single camera, which makes it incredibly efficient. Features What sets the Ring camera apart are its smart features. The motion detection is highly accurate, and I can customize the sensitivity and zones to avoid false alarms. For example, I’ve adjusted it to ignore cars passing by on the street and only alert me when someone steps onto my property. The two-way audio feature is another favorite. I can talk to visitors at my door or deter potential intruders, even when I’m not home. The audio is clear, and there’s minimal lag, which makes interactions seamless. The integration with the Ring app is intuitive and user-friendly. I receive instant notifications whenever motion is detected, and I can view live footage or past recordings with just a few taps. The ability to review footage from anywhere gives me an added sense of security, especially when I’m traveling. Subscription and Cloud Storage I opted for the Ring Protect subscription plan, which offers cloud storage for recorded footage. It’s reasonably priced, and having access to recordings is invaluable. Whether I need to check on a delivery or review an incident, it’s all stored securely in the cloud. Design and Durability The camera’s design is sleek and modern, blending seamlessly with my home’s exterior. It’s also weather-resistant, which is essential for outdoor use. I’ve had it through a few rainstorms already, and it’s held up perfectly without any issues. Final Thoughts Overall, I’m thrilled with my Ring camera. It’s reliable, easy to use, and packed with features that make home security simple and effective. Whether you’re looking for a way to monitor your property, communicate with visitors, or just add a layer of protection to your home, this camera is an excellent choice. I highly recommend it to anyone considering a security camera—it’s worth every penny for the peace of mind it provides.

The picture is clear enough for the purpose and the night vision is as well. I love the ability to rotate it and to close the cover and turn it off and also to listen and talk through it. It would be nice if there was a battery backup for power outages.

I am pleasantly surprised with this little camera. It was a great value. I only bought it for inside of my apartment to just keep an eye on my cats when I'm on my way to make sure they're not destroying anything because it does have a call in function where you can kind of shoot them away. It has great video quality and it's very easy to set up and navigate through the app very pleased.

I am new to home camera systems as I've never had one before but recently with package delivery problems plus wanting to know who is at the front door when knocking before I answer along with some street facing security, I figured it was time to give it a try. This review is from the perspective of not only a RING newbie but someone new to home surveillance. Arriving in a small, compact box inside you will find the Ring pan and tilt camera, a decently length power cord and a wall adapter. Also included is a snap on stabilizing mount and a wall mount with screws so basically you're good to go however you want to use/mount it. You get a few small pamphlets but really all setup is via a QC code. I decided I wanted the "full" Amazon experience (since they own RING) and opted to update and use my Fire HD 10 tablet which is a ~3yr old 11th generation model as my primary monitoring device. Once updated, downloading the Ring app was easy and as soon as you create an account which is mandatory, you can set up your camera via the QC code which was the first problem as my Fire HD tab could not focus on the incredibly small QC code. I tried from many angles. I even took a picture of it and enlarged it with my phone to try and capture it that way to no avail. I ended up just having to manually punch in the number which in hindsight was much easier than scanning the code. Once punched in, you make sure your Ring camera is near your router and setup is a breeze. It finds and links to it automatically with the tablet Bluetooth and will sync it to the network you're using. Be warned, these are only 2.4ghz devices and do not support 5.0ghz so make sure you're either using an older router or have dual band set up. Once synced and setup, you can adjust the various settings you want (home / away modes, live vs delayed feed, pan/tilt settings, etc...). I set it up in its dedicated location and since it is wall powered, it can be left unattended. I really like the fact it uses a USB-C to USB-A cable and standard USB-A power adapter as this gives you plenty of flexibility not only in cable run length but if you want to power it off a USB hub. Once I placed it where I needed it, I was able to immediately pull up my feed and see my front door, driveway and a bit more. The camera has a very wide angle. The app is more than quick enough even on my 11th gen Fire HD tablet. I suspect it would be much quicker on an Apple or faster Android device but for my needs it works fine. As always, nothing is perfect. I do wish it was in color, but the 1080p picture was good enough. I like that I can monitor it via the tablet and my PC. My main issue is there is no PC or Mac native program and everything has to be done via the Ring website which makes it a bit cumbersome and obtuse. If there is an app for mobile devices, there should be a stand alone application for PCs and Macs. I'm not a huge fan of a lack of direct local streaming mode. Everything has to funnel through the cloud back to Ring and then to you. There needs to be a direct Wi-Fi/LAN only mode to conserve uplink bandwidth and more important localize your privacy options if all you want to do is monitor the cameras and that's it. You do get a free month of Ring Protect that allows you to save and review videos along with other features but if you opt not to pay monthly, you only have real time/delayed video and it still has to be uploaded/streamed to Ring and then re-sent to your various devices (in my case, Fire HD and PC). If the Ring camera was in color, had a native PC or Mac program and a way to select localized streaming only, this would be near perfect. Alas, it lacks these three things but overall I'm generally content with this first step into home security and most likely after my trial period is over I will just use it for real time streaming of my front door/area and that's it.

The Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam offers 1080 HD Video in color. It sounds like you are experiencing an issue with the video showing in black and white instead of color. Please ensure that you have the proper settings enabled on your mobile device, tablet, or PC for optimal video quality. You can also enable Color Night Vision under the Device Settings tab in the Ring app. Please follow these steps to enable Color Night Vision:
      Open the Ring app.
      Tap the menu (☰).
      Tap "Devices."
Select the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam that you want to adjust.
      Select "Device Settings."
      Select "Video Settings."
Toggle on the switch for "Color Night Vision."

The Ring Pan Tilt Indoor camera is great because you can aim the camera remotely while in live view. The camera is able to detect motion and get a clear picture through a window and screen. It does not have a built in battery and must be connect by cable to a power source. It works in the day because it lacks a light although I could get around this by having a motion sensing LED bulb in a light fixture in the camera zone.

In my pursuit of a discreet yet effective indoor security solution, the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Security Cam has proven to be a commendable choice. Its sleek black design integrates seamlessly into various interior aesthetics, offering both form and function. The camera’s 360° horizontal pan and 169° vertical tilt capabilities provide comprehensive coverage, ensuring that no corner is left unmonitored. The 1080p HD video quality delivers clear and detailed footage, while the color night vision enhances visibility in low-light conditions . The two-way talk feature facilitates real-time communication, adding an extra layer of interaction and security. Additionally, the customizable motion detection zones allow for tailored monitoring, reducing unnecessary alerts . While certain advanced features, such as 24/7 recording and person detection, require a Ring Protect subscription, the core functionalities of the camera remain robust and reliable . The setup process was straightforward, and the integration with the Ring app offers intuitive control over the device. In summary, the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Security Cam delivers a balanced blend of design, functionality, and performance. It serves as a dependable component of a comprehensive home security system, providing peace of mind with its thoughtful features and user-friendly interface.

These are very easy to install. Just plug into an outlet (10 ft cord) and connect to the Ring app by scanning the device QR code. If you already have a Ring device, you just add a device in the app. It can be free standing or mounted. I suggest trying the device free standing until you decide on the best viewing angle. This is an indoor camera. Ring offers Basic (one device), Plus and Pro plans which store data in the cloud for 180 days. Without a plan subscription you will only see live view events and won’t have a video recording. NOTE: Ring says this connects to a 2.4GHz network but wit works fine on 5GHz for me. In the Ring app you can adjust settings for this device. One of the settings is for colored night vision. It really doesn’t add much, if any, color. Ring needs to work on this feature. Clarity is great in light, but the night vision clarity is so-so. Another setting is to capture people only and we also set that feature. The motorized pan-tilt and 360-degree coverage is a great feature if it actually tracked. It reminds me of BB-8. It whirls around but doesn’t track a person. We put our cam in the garage for now. The two-way radio with noise cancelling is handy. Sound quality is very good. The cam also works with Alexa if you wish to setup that feature. We have several Ring devices and they all do their job of watching our property. This device needs to track people and have better night vision. Then it would be truly great.
