This is a good video doorbell. The video and camera quality has a very wide angle, and is very clear when you connect. I installed it myself into brick siding and did not have any issues. You may need a better pilot bit than the one supplied, but it was sufficient for me. I used the angle adapter provided and have a great view of my front yard. It takes a little while to connect to my wireless system when I receive a motion notification. That is my only gripe.

The Ring doorbell camera was easy to install and set up. The video and audio quality is very good, with the ability to share captured events with neighbors and law enforcement when necessary. The user has control over who can access those recordings. Motion detection sensitivity is adjustable depending on the individual needs, thus maximizing battery life. So far I’m very happy with the system.

Visually appealing design, sharp 1080p video, and easy installation. The Ring Video Doorbell 2 offers good 1080p video and is so easy to install because it uses a rechargeable battery and doesn't require any wiring. It also offers most of the features that you get with the Pro version including motion detection with triggered recording and support for Alexa voice commands. The only reason it doesn't get five stars: Ring requires you to subscribe to the Ring Protection Plan to view event history.

The critiques: it does sometimes have a slight lag in recording. As someone approaches it might not catch them right away, it waits until they are right there. Yet occasionally it senses motion from the garbage truck across the complex. Overall the motion detection is good. It just has a few moments. The people in the app sometimes can be a bit extra- it is an interesting demonstration of unconcious bias at times so I don't participate. For example, saying that there was a SUSPICIOUS PERSON at their door when it was literally just a normal guy in broad daylight ringing their doorbell for what could be a million legitimate reasons who happened to be a different race than them. It does get old. But there are some valuable postings. I never realized how many people walk around and check for unlocked cars at night, that's for sure. I bought an extra battery pack because I read negative things about the battery life. Its been almost a month and I haven't had to switch them. Install was easy. I did not hardwire. I am upstairs and my mounting spot was in the corner, and I was able to get a perfect view of my whole patio and stairs using the included mounting wedges. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it! I love having the security of it. Or the false sense of security, whatever it may be.

I purchased this last year. Geek squad came in and installed. It was a quick install with great features. It’s was all we needed. No extra cost for stuff we didn’t need. So far it’s almost a year battery has not needed to be recharged.... but I was advised an extra battery should be considered. The clarity, the volume level all great. Only set back is , it take a few seconds to see who is at ur foot via ur phone. Sometimes it’s just easier to just to the front door.

Everything for installation included (including drill bit). Easy to install, Great picture. Battery life has been great (many months). The ongoing fee is modest, but I would prefer a slightly higher initial price and no ongoing fee, like the amazon cloud cams. I like it well enough, though, that I bought two additional ones as presents. The one purchased in Nov 2019 has not been opened yet.

This thing is awesome super easy setup. I would definitely recommend getting a second battery for a back up when you have to recharge the main one however I will say that the battery life is more than I expected it’s been over a month and I haven’t had to recharge the battery yet. I did notice it’s not as responsive in sending the notifications for motion detection like it was at first but it’s recorded so I can always replay it. Overall I think it’s worth the price.

Easy to set up- everything is in the box that you need. Battery is easy to charge and notifies you when it’s low. Our doorbell area is too small for this to be mounted there, so we put it on the other side of the door and it’s not a problem at all. Delivery people place the package right under the Ring2 and push the button and leave. I’m very happy with this and I believe you will be as well.

The Ring Video Doorbell 2 offers good 1080p video and is even easier to install because it uses a rechargeable battery and doesn't require any wiring. If you have wires it will work with. It also offers most of the features that you get with the Pro version including motion detection and support for Alexa voice commands and IFTTT applets, I highly recommend it.

I’m not very tech savvy but, I was able to install and use this with no problems. After I charged the battery it took me less than 5 minutes to install and start playing with it. I love being able to see who’s at the door anywhere I’m at and I’m able to talk to them. So happy with this purchase I will be purchasing the ring security cameras to.

This has been a great addition to my home security. It is so much clearer than the base model. Don't let anyone tell you that there isn't much difference between 720p and 1080p on this product because it's night and day. The battery last pretty long on a really busy street (over a month). It was easy to install and to setup. Very happy so far.

I've been hesitant on buying the ringdoorbell for sometime now and I can say I'm happy with the purchase overall. It performs very well and has a crisp view while being easy to install for novices. The audio is great too and viewing with my phone is fantastic. I am disappointed though that the feature that let's you see motion incidents requires a monthly charge after the trial period. Otherwise it's a great product.

I bought my home new in 2016 which did not have a doorbell installed. It would have cost me hundreds of dollars to have an electrician wire one for me. After months of research, I realized the Ring doorbell was the right fit for me. Installation was pretty simple. I cut a custom piece of wood and drilled into my brick, then mounted the Ring over the piece of wood. This gives it a custom look and if I ever decide to upgrade or switch out the Ring, I can do so with ease. Battery claims to last for months. This is probably accurate if set to the lowest motion detection, etc. So far I can usually get about a week and half to two weeks charge before I have to charge it again. Yes, I realize this is probably due to the settings however this is no big deal for me as the app tells me the battery status so I can prepare for charging when it's low. Recommended for people like myself who have no previous doorbell wiring. I also recommend purchasing the Ring Chime accessory to notify you the doorbell has been activated if your smartphone is in another room.

Really good camera, comes with 2 wedge mounts and flat mount for 3 mounting options. camera quality is good during day and night. i recommend hard wiring the doorbell. If you hard wire it, it will charge keep the battery charged and you don't have to worry about recharging the battery. Its only 2 wires and it comes 2 wire jumpers with spade ends, and 2 wire nuts to easily wire to your existing doorbell.

Camera quality is great. I bought this one because of its battery function. The battery has lasted over 3 months now. I bought an extra battery to have the camera going 24 7. Very easy setup. Comes with everything you need to get it installed took me about 30 minutes from opening the box to having it completely done.

This is my 2nd Ring purchase. I had the Ring 1 and I liked the product, but it died on me after accidentally dropping it while trying to remount it after recharging the battery. I believe there is a lifetime warranty on the product, but only when theft is involved, so I decided to purchase the Ring 2 Installation was easy and I had it set up in practically no time. I like the new design and it seems to have a more secure mount than the Ring 1. I have the inside Ring plug-in doorbell accessory so that we can hear when someone pushes the doorbell and it works just fine. It has several ways to set up motion zones to avoid detections that you don't particularly care about. The night vision on the camera is not too great unless I leave my front porch light on all night which I usually do anyway. The daytime video looks great, but it gives a circle shaped view. My one wish is that it should come with two rechargeable batteries instead of just one so that you can have one on stand-by. You can purchase a 2nd battery, but at the price, I think it should come with two. I have not had this too long so I cannot say how long one battery charge will last. For my Ring 1, I paid that $30 annual subscription fee to keep a copy of my recordings. I don't recall how long they were kept in the cloud, but it was enough. My 1-year subscription had expired and I had not renewed it because I had yet to purchase another device. After purchasing my Ring 2, my account was not giving me my free 30-days of cloud storage which comes with each device, so I got onto the Ring chat service and they fixed my account promptly. Customer service seems to be great!

I purchased this as I had the original Ring and was happy with it. The new battery is great. No more hassles of having to take the entire device down. I purchased the extra battery, so I shouldn't be any downtown while switching out the battery. Great picture. The only complaint is there is about a 15 second delay from when someone rings it.

Very good video camera with lots of nice features. Shows clear video with great detail. Was easy to setup and get running. Has a very good Ring app with user friendly features.

The ring video doorbell was easy to install. Works like charm. Has a different ring for Holidays that are easy to activate. Camera is great!
