We bought a battery operated Ring Video Doorbell about two years ago. The battery charge was advertised as lasting up to a year. Not! After about a year, I found myself charging the thing every two months and this was with strictly normal use. We really did like it though. We decided to use some Xmas money to buy two of the Ring Pro bundles at Best Buy for a third off. Installation in our 90 year old house was tedious but not particularly difficult. We had removed the old doorbell so I had to run 18 gauge wire and use separate transformers at the two locations. Ring recommends using a 16-24 VAC/ 30 VA transformer. I couldn’t find a 30 VA in stock anywhere. Home Depot has Hampton Bay tri-volt doorbell transformers with a 24 VAC/20 VA setting in stock. I chatted with Ring tech support and they said this was ok to use. The units came online without any trouble and I have to say the bundled chimes have come in handy as I was able to sync each doorbell to a separate chime to differentiate between front and side doors. The video is good, sound ok, and the night vision surprisingly very good. The monthly subscription price is the most reasonable in the industry so I would recommended purchasing. If you haven’t already, you should invest in the speediest broadband you can afford. Likewise for a wireless router. The wireless signal is where the rubber meets the road with these devices.

I installed my Ring Video Doorbell Pro in late November and my family and I think it's GREAT. It was quick and easy to install. Replacing an existing doorbell button gave it a good source of power, and it still rings our old chime. The chime pro accessory is highly recommended because it provides a voice announcement of activity and extends the doorbell range. (I am thinking of getting a second chime pro for the basement, so we can be alerted there, but not really needed because the cell phone alerts work so well.) Appreciate the great HD video, but there is a bit of a delay to connect and view live video. It took a little effort to tune it so the motion detect didn't trigger for passing cars. The features that adjust the sensing area were quite good. The extra cost monitoring subscription is required to get the most out of this product, so count on this extra expense. I feel it was worth it to purchase the pro model for the smaller size, sharper video and other improved features.

Much better than I expected. Extremely well packed and comes with all relevant tools and extra connection you need for bell box. Easy to install. Wiring was to an old bell but the connections were easy. The App was easy to use and instructions guided you through the install. The WiFi extender is needed as our side Door is way from our router. With the extender we do not experience any dropped connections. Takes some trial and error to adjust the detection field, but once dialed in it is great. Images are clear and crisp. Sound quality is great and you can talk to people at the door. Picks up anyone coming close to the door. Loved it so much I bought a second one for the main door. You have to pay for monitoring, but it’s worthwhile and you can view via your phone to tablet. You can also allow your family to view who is at the door or even share images with neighbors who have Ring products. Highly recommended.

Very easy to install. Very clear picture, even at night. Motion zone feature allowed me to block out busy street in front of our house while still covering doorway. Took a little maneuvering to get adequate WIFI signal, that’s where the included extended helped.

I had read a lot of reviews with the wired doorbell concerning the transformer that comes with it and connectivity issues. Very minimal delay with motion detection and alert to my phone.
I have had mine installed for a couple of weeks and the install was very easy and everything worked as expected.
This kit does come with a total of 4 faceplates in varying colors so one is sure to match what you need and it also comes with two wedges. One that can help angle the camera up or down and one that can angle the camera left or right.
I purchased the deal they had that included the echo dot, chime pro and haven't had any connectivity issues at all.
One thing to note, the sound coming from the camera unit is probably not as loud as expected but overall I love it and would recommend.
Maybe I am one of the lucky ones, but I am very pleased with it.

Easy to install and setup with the phone app. Was also able to setup with my existing door bell ringer and put the Chime Pro in the basement. The camera works really well, even at night. It will however detect all movement so you will have to adjust the settings if you don't want a notification every time a car drives by. You can setup detection zones or setup to just detect people movement to reduce notifications.
Note that the videos are stored in the cloud so you will have to pay an annual fee if you want to continue to save the videos after the initial free period.

I needed an internet-connected video doorbell that would alert me when people/cars/animals entered my property and didn't have too many false alerts, and was reliable.
Pros: Fairly easy to install, attractive styling with several faceplates to choose from to match one's house trim, excellent daytime video quality, pretty good editable motion zones reasonable rejection of unwanted motion triggers, nighttime monochrome vision, outstanding support experience, cloud video storage, easy to use App.
Cons: charge for cloud storage (but not too bad), lots of false triggers during snowstorms, occasional delays in motion triggering (several seconds, but probably expected since I have a slow internet connection through the worst ISP in the country. Overall, this is a pretty good product and I bought two more of them.

I bought this over the Nest or other Ring models. The next not being Alexa friendly, and the other ring models not having zones. Luckily I bought the pro, since I could customize the zones. There has been a lot of wind and the trees were alerting that someone was at my door too often. The picture quality is great during the day. The night vision is really good, at least where I have it. Theres no light and I can see well. The installation was very easy. I had a hard wired doorbell so it was a matter of taking that one out and putting this one in then following the instructions on the app. Took 10 mins to install everything.

First the package came in perfect shape. It came with all I needed including screwdriver. I am disabled but I was able to install the whole thing in about 15 min. . I did have a simple wired ding ding sound non digital doorbell. You get 4 different doorbell faceplates, a black, a brown, a tanish, and a silver. The picture and sound quality are very good, this includes the night vision. You do loose color on the night vision but clear. Ring.com has easy to use website to navigate thru to customize your doorbells sensitivity.

The Ring Doorbell Pro and chime is an okay doorbell system. Setup was easy and I was able to install it within an hour. The video quality is great and the video/audio makes it easy to talk to individuals that come to the door. There are a couple of things that I didn't care for. First, after your initial 30 day trial audio/video storage, you have to pay a monthly or yearly subscription fee. There are other video doorbells available that provide free storage for a certain period of time and are less expensive than the Ring Doorbell Pro.
I also moved my Chime Pro to the upstairs and tried over and over to reconnect it to my doorbell. I finally gave up after it kept telling me it was connected..., even though it never chimed when the doorbell was pressed.

I’ve been using the Ring Pro for a couple years now. I have no regrets. After installation (which was easy to replace an existing doorbell), there was lag. The problem was the location of the doorbell from the location of the wireless router. There were too many walls (including brick). After some moving around, it was much better. I recently decided to fix it for real by installing a mesh network. No lag at all.
Picture quality is great and motion detection is great as well.

There's plenty of smart doorbells available now, but what separates Ring is their owner network. Their lead in being first to market really helped them as they were able to build a large network of owners who share incidents, etc. It's like a neighborhood watch. As for the doorbell itself, video quality is pretty good, but it takes a while before your phone is notified when someone rings the doorbell. The chime often disconnects itself for unknown reasons. A great feature of the Pro model is the ability to select the area you want to be sensitive to motion detection. The other models lack that ability so there's much more false alerts (my relatives have the Doorbell 2).

Pros: easy to install, user friendly, compatible with phone, video quality is great
Cons: there is a 4-6 second delay to get notifications(doesn’t seem like much, but I’ve had kids ringing and running away in the time it took to get notified of motion) I’m pretty sure I have really good internet service...the mic sounds distorted a lot of the time but I guess we can hear the people outside...you HAVE to get the Protect Plan, otherwise you can’t see who just rang your bell(a second after someone sets motion on, it’s basically history so you can’t see the video unless you hit live view, which like I said there’s a delay and by the time you check they’re gone)

I was initially hesitant to buy a smart doorbell as our home was built in the 70's and I wasn't sure if I was mentally prepared to find out all the hoops that I would have to go through to install and use this thing. I finally broke down due to the heavy discounts during Black Friday on this device and I sure am glad that I did.
The installation was a snap....Granted I did watch a few Installation video's on Youtube before I purchased so I knew about what I was getting myself into. The entire installation process and setup took less than 30 minutes and was done in the evening with no light....It was truly that simple...As long as your current doorbell is powered.
Once setup we were testing and using the device for multiple days to get the configuration down. Found that you really need to adjust the motion zones otherwise every leaf or branch that blows in the wind will set it off.
After a few days of tinkering with the settings we now feel like we can reliably count on the Ring Doorbell Pro to provide us with motion and doorbell notifications wherever we are on this planet.
As I initially said my only regret is that it took me so long to actually pull the trigger.

The Ring doorbell camera works flawlessly. It is very easy to set up and interface with my other cameras and it interfaces will with my Echo Show. You can see who is at your door as well as see the recorded images for past instances when the doorbell was rung. The Chime Pro allows the doorbell to ring in a specific room along with the home chimes This device provides an extra layer of security for our home which can be monitored from anywhere.

Perfect addition to home security, the deal was awesome when we picked this up from best buy. Haven't had an issue with the ring since installation and it was an easy DIY, installation instructions were easy to follow. Had the thing setup in minutes, will definitely recommend to anyone that wants to keep up with what goes on around their home. Perfect for keeping an eye on your packages.

Ring - Video Doorbell Pro and Chime Pro Bundle - Satin Nickel. Purchased for me and my children. Easy to install and setup. I'm considering purchasing another battery so I don't have any downtime while charging. I like to know what is happening at the front of my house while I'm home and away. Bought for my mom and children as well. Purchased the service to have video archived as well.

You won't go wrong with the purchase of this camera for outdoor security monitoring. it has become my own personal doorman. I screen my visitors and pre-check them for sales intentions and sanitary preferences. The quality of the video ain't so bad either. I have had a few of my Ring products to go offline and fail to provide me with live and/or recorded footage, which defeats the purpose of having the product. If it fails even once out of 100,00 times, its the time you really needed it that counts the most. That said, I would not trust anyone who hasn't been in the business longer than Ring with similar solutions. Connecting the device to your WiFi and/or to your Chime unit is not too difficult, but as you can expect with any encryption, technology is not yet perfected on sustainability of wireless signal handling. That being said, if you decide to use one of these for security monitoring, consider purchasing other devices (from Ring or any other reliable manufacturer) for window and door alerts. Short story: In 2020, you may never have 100% reliability on video signaling and event recording. Things happen... And, where there are frequencies, there are ways... Be reasonable in your expectations and you will be pleased with the results, but don't be foolish in assuming that the camera alone will solve all your little problems. Get a really big beautiful friendly d-o-g with no bark and all protection. Also helps if your neighbors and friends are members of law enforcement who care about everyone (everyone) in the community. One thing I would like to see Ring do to improve the feature of this camera - I want to use the quality to zoom out so that I can monitor the end of my long long long driveway. The camera has the potential, but the mobile app is not configure to allow the property owner to take the camera(s) on a visual scroll to look around in vivid detail. I'm just saying... It would be nice to have the functionality. That's all.

I was leery at first with the camera and the angle, but after installing (which was rather easy, about 10 mins for physical install, and about 10-15 on the wifi set up). Camera is very good and I can see up and down my whole street. Being able to recall prior recordings (with non expensive subscription) makes this not only good for a door bell, but also for security. 3 zones for motion can be set up so now my cars are also more protected.

I bought this during a Black Friday deal and it was discounted heavily. Setting up was very easy and quick. You don’t really need the chime if you have any Alexa devices since you can link it and use as a door bell. Picture quality is good but if someone is moving fast it gets pixelated and hard to se the face when watch the recording. My only issue is that is take a few seconds to turn on, there have been times were it only records the back of a delivery man due to the delay. Otherwise..I like this device.
