Tv turn off by herself,

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So many issues with this 82” tv, when I watch any program (Cable or from any apps) the tv turns off and restart constantly .Greg squats came to and tried to fix to problem and replaced many parts in different occasions but the problem still ,i don’t know why they just replace the tv for another one???? Previously I brought the 65” Samsung for gaming and I never have any problem with, am thinking that have having Best Buy plan protection is not a great ideal after all ?

White Spots Everywhere
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this Samsung 82” TV for over 4 months. When I first got the TV, the picture was amazing with minimal ghosting. Then about 2 weeks ago bright white spots showed up everywhere. It gets worse every day and now you don’t want to turn it on to watch a movie because that is all you can see. The only time it goes away is if you are watching a football game or something very bright that covers the entire screen. Samsung will walk you through steps to correct the image but it only enhances the horrible bright white spots. They then asked me to go to the troubleshoot it yourself option and look at the preloaded image on the screen to see if I notice the white spots. Take in mind the picture covers the entire screen and is a picture of an extremely bright scene at the beach. Of course you are not going to see it in a picture like that. By far the worst TV I have ever purchased. If you only like to watch sports that are very bright and cover the whole screen, you won’t notice it. If you like to watch anything else such as movies, Netflix, HULU, Amazon Prime, TV Shows, I would recommend to shop for another TV.

TV has issues

It also started going black at random, still had sound. I called Best Buy but it was out of their 30 day return window. I called samsung and they sent a technician with replacement board. It did not correct issue. Now I am waiting on replacement screen panel. Part is there but no technicians available until 2 more weeks. It will be 3 weeks without a tv if that fixes the issue. I encourage you to look up problems with this tv other than the reviews on best buy. I think you will be surprised.

Screen won't stay on

Then the screen went black (power was on, sound was on). Did the hard reboot, factory reset etc. We've been trying to get it fixed since March but due to COVID haven't been able to. Repair scheduled for next week so we'll see if they can make it right. We have many other Samsung products that we have loved which is why we opted for another big screen in our main TV room. Really disappointed this time.

Since then, well... it's crapped out. Not as far as function, just quality. Several burn areas on screen, and the unit constantly puts me into setup mode after turning the TV on again after it's been left alone for more than an hour. Really disappointed. Cost me around 5k. Best Buy left me out to dry on this as well with the Geek Squad protection. They won't repair something that isn't broken. And since the issue is more about quality than function, it means I have to live with it. Lame all around

Worst Customer Service!!!!

I bought this TV 2 years ago and paid extra $380 for geek squad warranty, no problems till a month ago . I have tried to schedule a appointment with someone to come look at my TV and they won't do it till I give them serial # on TV . I been on the phone for 3 hours today, transferred to 5 different departments , put on hold more than 30 mins at a time, hung up on 3 times and send to wrong departments . I use to be a big fan of Best Buy, but now I am done with these people!!!!!!!

Great until it stops working

It will turn on, but then go black after a few minutes. Sound works, tv remains operational, but no screen. I've exhausted all recommendations for fixing it at this point. Total loss.

Second issue, doesn't stay connected to wifi. And now a year and 4 months later there is this line running across the width of the tv. Over all terrible experience with the tv.

No idea why I buy Samsung products anymore. Cell phone bursts into flames, washing machine explodes, and TV has white dots. Lovely.

Utterly bad user design experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro; Great Look, superb picture quality Cons: The usermenu, apps, setup are really bad once any of the advanced features are to be configured. Let's start with the home screen: Full of useless Apps and advertising for more Apps. Most Apps can be removed, but they eventually come back. Advertising for new Apps cannot be turned off or removed. If all you want is run an Apple TV and a Playstation you are out of luck. It will force other TV apps and built in programs on you. To configure the TV properly you need to use the Samsung SmartThings App. Thats where it gets really bad. On iOS e.g. iPhone XS Max most of the functionality needed to configure is actually broken and will not work. Some screens have the user controls literally outside the iPhone screen area and you can only kill the App or be stuck on that screen forever. The SmartThings App insists to perform another setup and will always crash. Have contacted Samsung support and other than rebooting the SmartThings Hub on the TV have been of no help. As beautiful as the picture quality is, as bad is the user experience. A pattern of Samsung products as of late.

Great picture, poor quality control
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought TV as Open Box, was told returned because it was to big and only GeekSquad had touched the TV. 2 weeks later, none of the HDMI ports work. Reset TV and sat on phone with Samsung support for an hour with no resolution. Samsung support told me They could send repair person but I should return since it was so new. Very disappointed as I have 2 other Samsung TV’s that have never given me an issues, but I will have to go with Sony as replacement.

Don’t Buy

Reached out to Samsung and the keep on delaying the service appointment. Now we will not be able to watch the Super Bowl. Thanks Best Buy and Samsung.

dont bother if you want it to support PS4

Everything went smoothly minus the ps4 pro. It WILL NOT CONNECT to ps4 pro, after more than 2 hours with samsung tech support they said they were going to send me to "teir 2" and someone would reach out to me in 2 days. UNACCEPTABLE. This TV will not work with your Playstation, so dont bother, for the amount of money this TV costs this is UNACCEPTABLE. At a glance this is a known issue, wish I would have researched more before buying. GOING TO RETURN. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!
