Samsung has some good quality once they have done the R&D, and it shows. You may need a firmware update to prevent some damage to the drive long term; some of these 990 Pros had issues with overwriting data wrong and consuming cells. A great standalone drive at current prices (~200$ USD).

I have a 980 Pro, so confident that this 990 Pro would be just as good. Just got a killer deal on another 4TB.
