Induction is Great! Product could be better.

Induction has all of the temperature control benefits of cooking with gas, but it is much easier to clean and better for the environment. I'm glad I switched, even though I had to have an electrician install a new circuit for it. The Chef Collection temperature control knob doesn't work well enough to be useable (it lives in a drawer), and the touch controls can be annoying when there is water or grease on the controls. The "burner" layout would be better if it were designed for two large pans, rather than having the Flex Zone. These are minor things compared to the benefits of cooking with induction, but the product itself could be better.

Great technology, poorly executed

On the surface induction seemed to be the answer to everything. In reality not so much. Even heating across the burner? Nope, the large burner has a tiny inductor in the center that is much hotter than the tiny band inductor about halfway out from the center of the burner. I thought this was a malfunction so I called for repair. I demonstrated to the repairmen how water boils in the center of the pan, but the outer areas remain unaffected. The repairmen agreed this was a problem but they refused to take the time to repair it, referring me to the returns department instead. The sent a replacement, same thing. Thats just how it works, poorly. Digital controls, no more guesswork on settings? Nope, the supplied magnetic dial does nothing, touch controls are erratic, often after setting it, the whole thing shuts down, maybe right now, maybe in half an hour. Definitely not a set it and forget it operation. There's more but just writing this makes me mad how much I spent on this and I have to fight with it everyday. On a positive note, the simmer setting is fabulous!
