To give you a little history on me, I have been a Samsung user from my first smart phone, the Samsung S3, which I quickly upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 that fall. From that day I have upgraded every year to the new Note series phone, up to the current Note 10 Plus which I now own. New tech is my downfall, I’m the gotta have type guy. I have been watching the Galaxy Fold come to life for what seemed like years to actually launching. Maybe a rough start, but it was all for the better of the product. So even after saying I would wait for the next generation, I could not resist and purchased the new Fold a few days ago and I have to tell you I’m blown away. This phone is the most awesome new tech on the market today and is a game changer for the cell phone industry. The build is solid and feels top quality and beautiful design. The inner screen although plastic, feels like glass when using and works perfectly. The crease down the middle is only noticeable when looking at an angle and I do not notice it while using the phone. Screen is big and work well, watching Youtube to Netflix and beyond is incredible. Opening pdf’s and work files is awesome. Camera is fantastic and I believe to be the same as the Note 10 plus with all the features. Plenty of storage at 512GB and with 12 GB ram the phone runs fast and smooth even with multiple apps running. Multitasking is a pleasure, read the news while playing a video and texting all at the same time on one screen. Finger print sensor is on the side of the case so it can be used in both closed and open mode and works very well. Samsung pay only works from the small screen which I hope there is an update for. I would like to see that feature from the big screen also. ( so far the only downfall, but not a deal breaker). One Note, this is not a phone to give to a child to play with, this phone is for responsible adults that can take of their tech. It is a plastic inner screen and can be damaged pretty easily, poking with a pen, sharp fingernails, coins or metal objects would be an absolute no-no and would definitely damage the screen. Right now Samsung is offering Premier service with the purchase of the phone which I believe is a one up for Samsung. They are also offering to replace the screen (one time) within the first year if damaged for $149, which is also a plus. I think Samsung realizes this is new to the market and users are going to have to get familiar with this new tech and stepped up to help us out with premium service. I highly recommend this phone, remember when you purchase new technology you adding to the popularity and will insure that the manufacturer will continue to improve on future generations and YOUR involvement and input will help with that development. I’m a Best Buy consumer and not a Samsung employee.

"Expert" Reviewers lost a lot of respect from me after today. It's the exact opposite of everything they said I should expect. Feels ultra premium. Front screen is perfect for quick tasks and dare I even say more efficient for such tasks. Can't notice the crease in usage. Etc. Even friends are saying the same after actually using it. This thing takes breathtaking photos and has awesome low-light capabilities.

This phone is amazing. Traded in my Note 10+ and I have zero regrets. Fast, incredible battery life, comes with galaxy buds, draws attention anytime you use it in public. Yes you can see a crease but when looking at the display straight on it's not visible. Wouldn't have bought it without the GSP. $249 to replace a phone like this is a great deal if anything does happen to it.

The design is good. I really need to take care of this phone in order not to break it. I don’t love the included case but it’s ok for normal use. The speaker is good. The biggest problem is the wrong placement of the camera when unfolded. I normally hold the phone one the side that I will not get in the way of the speaker, but the light sensor will get in to the way of you hold it like that and it will dim your screen which is a terrible experience.

I am about a week in using the Galaxy Fold as a daily driver and it has been a delight to use in pretty much every aspect. This device is a game changer on many levels and has me excited about the future of mobile technology. I have had almost every Samsung S series and Note over the last several years and have owned every iPhone except for the 4S and I can confidently say this is the most interesting device I have ever used. The display is obviously the main draw of the Fold. While the front display is very small, it is useful to perform basic smartphone functions. You can make calls, send a short text (I'm using Gboard and swipe typing is good with it on the front screen), do some basic one handed browsing of social media or the web but for most activities you are going to want the screen unfolded to that massive, glorious display. The 7.3" display is beautiful to look at as is typical with Samsung made displays. It's not quite as crisp and beautiful as the one found in the Note 10+ or iPhone 11 Pro Max devices that I own but to have a crisp 7.3" display that fits in your pocket definitely gives it an advantage over those. This weekend while on the go with our kids sports and other activities that kept us out of the house I was able to watch college football and the Cowboys game on it. So much better than watching it on my Note 10+, which isn't bad in itself. You will be hard pressed to find a better device for gaming and media consumption unless you go to an iPad or other dedicated tablet and lose the convenience of having the total package the Fold offers. I have played Call of Duty Mobile all week on it and am amazed at the experience. One downside however, despite being very careful per Samsung's recommendations, I have ended up with a few lines in my screen from fingernail presses. With gaming you have to make sure to not get caught up in it and start pressing hard with the edge of your thumbs. It will leave marks in the outer layer of the display. They are only noticeable when the screen is off and under direct light but it is still bothersome knowing your $2k phone has these imperfections once you see them and also knowing you have been very careful with the device. The crease everyone has been mentioning is definitely noticeable in the right light and on a bright white screen but when you are in an app and using the device, especially media or games, the crease tends to disappear. The dual speaker setup is loud and immersive. It sounds great and adds to the media experience. The camera is great as are cameras on most higher end smartphones. I believe the sensor is the same one from the S10 series and it produces great pictures just as my S10+ did before I sold it off to get the Note. No complaints at all and it is a delight to use, however, the night mode results aren't as good as the new iPhone Pro devices, Pixel 3, or Note 10+. Still a great camera and most people will have a hard time finding much to complain about. Battery life has been great through my week of testing. Under heavy use of Call of Duty Mobile, watching media, and typical smartphone tasks it still lasts a full day with around 5-6 hours screen on time. Despite the mostly mediocre "expert" reviews I have found myself loving this device. I'm a tech enthusiast and knew what to expect when acquiring it. While I would recommend the Fold to someone considering it, I wouldn't recommend it over the (also great) Note 10+ or iPhone 11 Pro Max to most consumers in its first iteration. Obviously the price, as Flossy Carter says is "TGH", there is no water and dust resistance, and the screen is still really delicate and should only be handled by adults who will use caution to take care of it. Despite that, I love my Fold and look forward to seeing how Samsung improves on it with the 2nd gen Fold. The Fold comes with the excellent Samsung Galaxy Buds (normally $~129) which is great. Not so great is that it only supports and ships with a 15W charger compared to the Note10+ which ships with a 25W charger and supports charging at 45W.

I have been waiting for over 8 months for this phone, I was one of the first people in my area to get it, I pre-ordered it on Thursday at 10PM 26th, and picked it up in Oxnard at 10am on the 27th I was scared they were gonna run out so I'm glad I got on it quick. I got the AT&T version black. First of all this phone is eye catching the technology makes people's eyes and mind blow away. The front screen is perfect for one handed, and then you unfold it into a mini tablet and wow you're just blown away. It's super fast and accurate with amazing colors. SAMSUNG has the best displays in the market. 6 cameras 3 on back 2 inside and one in front small screen amazing pics compared to S10 plus. Free Samsung buds included, warranty included free case included. No other company gives you that much goodies, yes it's pricey but for $66 a month on payment plan is nothing compared to what we pay for health insurance. This phone is top notch, and also fragile not water restiant nor dust proof. Clear messages that come in the box will let you know. I dont recomend putting it in your pants instead maybe a fanny pack or a little backpack. The crease in the middle is not noticable as some people would mention, I have 20/20 vision so yes it's not there. Only from side views but what do you expect from a first gen and since it's a plastic polymer screen the only option for it to bend. Glass foldable screens are coming soon. This is top notch quality phone. My roommates who are all apple users were blown away they even thought of getting one, selfies are fire, sound is amazing stero speakers. I recomend to any tech loving person not for people who break things easily. Treat it like your own child.

This is an excellent device. There has been quite a bit of criticism directed toward Samsung, but I think it is misplaced. When it is closed, the phone is easy to use with one hand because it is very narrow. When open, it offers a great viewing experience for video or productivity. I have been using mine to review pdf and Word documents. It is also a great way to review a calendar because you can really see a full month at a glance. Another great feature is the battery life which is outstanding. The phone is not perfect. The line is visible but only at an angle. It is also a bit cumbersome due to the weight. I was also used to a waterproof phone, so the lack of water and dust protection does make me nervous. Overall, however, and despite all the "negative reviews," this is a great product. Ultimately, it would be nice if they can make it water and dust resistant and maybe incorporate the S pen. But as it is, I highly recommend it as a productivity and media viewing device. And no, I am not employed by or connected to Samsung in any way. I am just a consumer.

I got the Note 10 Plus as I have always been a note user. Had it for two weeks and had to trade up to the Fold! Once you actually have this in your hands and use it, you see how AWESOME this phone truly is! it is fragile but mind blowing! This next to a iphone 11 pro is just no comparison. You see the same boring design on apple next to the future! People are blown away when they see this thing in action! The phone is quick and responsive and the build feels sturdy and has a quality finish! If you love technology and the latest and greatest, this is a must have! It's not cheap but if you can do it, I would definitely recommend! Watching Netflix is Awesome! Love my Galaxy Fold!

long battery life (7-8 hours screen time) nice big display. i love the multi-tasking and being able to copy/paste info from one app to another. games are beautiful on the big screen and so is the camera. front screen is beautiful and you can pretty much use it all day unless you need to watch a video and or game on the bigger one. typing is hard on the little screen so i use the voice keyboard. dust still gets in so i vacuum the hinges. there is a little jelly scrolling when using the big screen ( right side scrolls faster than left) minor inconvenience but overall a great phone. be careful!

I think this phone is a really good device. I have owned it for 5 months now. In that time frame however my screen has suffered small wear were my thumb swipes the most. It also has a slight dip were the hinge is not to noticeable but still there. There is no damage aside from those two small issues. The software is great the transition from the front screen to the large screen is seemless, and the speakers are amazing and the screen quality is amazing great color and detail in every video and game. The pictures that it takes are amazing as well. All in all I love the device just two problems but amazing device.

I've had the Galaxy Fold for two weeks now and have really enjoyed using a true all-in-one device that can be both a phone and a tablet. Professional reviewers have written about the device being fragile, but I think many are overreacting due to the initial samples back in the Spring. This phone has a very solid build quality. It has some weight to it, but that makes it feel sturdy and well constructed. If you've seen the iFixit teardown, Samsung implemented a large number of under the hood changes to strengthen the device and the inner screen. Yes, the inner screen is a plastic material, and you could scratch it if you rubbed sand on it or dug your fingernail into it, but why would you do that? The screen handles normal use just fine and looks beautiful like all of Samsung's AMOLED screens. There is no dust or water resistance, so be careful around water sources, but the majority of phones have only had IP ratings over the past few years anyway. Depending on how light reflects off of it, you can see the crease, and you can feel it with your finger, but it responds perfectly to touches and swipes. When looking straight on with content on the screen, you don't notice the crease at all. The aspect ratio of the inner screen is great for displaying web pages, reading books or magazines, for viewing productivity apps, and for playing games. It creates an immersive experience, even with the notch, which I barely notice anymore. Video content will have black bars, but it looks fantastic. Pull up some HDR content from YouTube or Netflix and the colors really pop. I was initially concerned about the size of the outer screen, but I've grown to like it quite a bit. It is a great one-handled screen to quickly scroll through emails, web pages, and social media feeds. You can adjust the font size slightly to make the text a little easier to read. The keyboard on the outer screen is cramped, but with some practice it works well, and swiping across the keys works well. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase of this phone. It is something different than current phone designs which are all basically the same. I'm sure Samsung will iterate on the design and make it even better, but this device shows what can be done with a folding design. If you have any interest, don't hesitate to pick one up a try it out.

TLDR: buy the Z Fold 2/3, not this First thing's first: this product is an engineering marvel. That said, it isn't perfect. In retrospect, the main attraction (the folding screen) isn't worth the compromises. The outer screen is tiny, the phone is heavy and thick, the refresh rate is pretty low (60hz), questions about its durability still remain, and it's really darn expensive. I owned this phone for a month before deciding it wasn't for me. I realized I'd be much more comfortable with an iPad and a small phone. If you plan to get this device (instead of the ZFold 2/3), please get insurance. And stay away from beaches. Also, don't go out with it in the rain.

This by far is the best phone i have ever owned. I've been waiting on some thing new like this for a really long time. Once i found out that they were working on a fold able phone about 6 years ago I knew I had to have one. Phones in the past 10 years have gotten somewhat boring, nothing really new just increasing the screen a bit here and there. Now with the fold, this totally changes the game. a reason to be excited once again to get a new phone. I have been using the fold for a bit over a week now and I am still in love with it. I do recommend to get the extra protection though just to be safe and protect your investment. I really hope for the next version the do make it water and dust resistant that would complete the package

I have had the phone 2 months now, All I have done is put on the carbon fiber cover that comes with phone. No real issues so far. Screen is amazing, everyone that see's it, wants to know about and play with it. I usually show it to them but dont hand it to them. Probably best way to get it dropped, handing it to someone thats not use to it. It takes a little getting use to, as its little thicker folded than a normal phone and when unfolded its wider than a normal phone. About 1.5 times wider than a note+. But one you get use to it and know how to balance it, your chances of dropping are almost none. At first, I used it as my work phone that just sat on the desk and used for calls and sitting at desk stuff. I now carry it everywhere. There seems to be a lot of people that want this phone but are terrified of durability. I watched a bunch of videos on youtube. If you drop any phone above 3ft or higher, depending on where it hits and how hard of a surface, it will break. Watch this video, it says it all. Galaxy fold survived 3ft, 6ft drops on all sides of galaxy fold, open and closed on concrete. The 10ft first drop, killed it. But really what phone will survive a 10ft drop onto concrete. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OocYJCEtP-4 Dont be scared off by the haters, its the best, most unique phone ever made. If you have the $$$ for the phone, just get an accident plan and go show off your new toy. My 3 kids (16, 16 & 21 and wife are all getting a galaxy fold for Christmas. Thats how much I liike the phone and confident it can take the day to day use.

I had a Galaxy 8, which I then swapped out for an XS, before coming into the Fold. I do love new technology and this tickled my tech bone. I will say that this product has exceeded every expectation I have for it. The inner screen is beautiful, but does tend to be a lint trap. The crease is noticeable if you look for it, but when I watch a video or do anything with the Fold open, I never notice it. It's quick, smooth and is incredible to use on a daily basis. My hands are not ginormous, which makes using the front screen easy to use for most applications. My only complaint on the front screen is that when I swipe to text, you have to really be accurate to make it work correctly. I do know that this phone is considered to be more delicate than some of the other types out there, but it really hasn't been a problem. I would actually say that the smaller, folded form factor makes it less likely that it will be dropped or mishandled in the future. The case that came with it is adequate, but I wanted a little more protection for the back camera, so I got the thin Spigen case, which adds just a hair more bulk, but also much more peace of mind. I am so happy with this phone and can't wait to see what comes next!
