Wish it would work better with Google's Find Device network so that I could use it when I switched from Samsung to the Pixel. Lost my keys, so I couldn't use it to find them. Ended up having to boot up an old Samsung tablet I had to use the find functionality. Also, wish the shape was different so that we could attach to a wallet or something. Otherwise, works great with Samsung devices.
Howdy GregFromMN, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with using the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2. The advertised Galaxy SmartTag2 utilizes Bluetooth and the SmartThings Find network to track items, not GPS in the tag itself. This device pings nearby Samsung Galaxy devices to relay its location back to the app, creating a crowdsourced map, while Ultra-Wideband offers precise indoor searching on compatible phones, and the Find Nearby feature provides visual/audible guidance. If you would like to share additional feedback with us or if you would like any further assistance, please feel free to reach out to Support. We're always happy to listen and work toward a better experience for our customers. Thanks for choosing Samsung! - Debra

for less than 20 bucks it was an ok find. the instructions and adding to smartthings is easy. it relies on a network of other phone users to be near the tag in order to relay location data to YOU though. if you plan to place a notification that if said item tag is attached to, moves, --it may not work. it uses more battery this way, and, if nobody is around to receive the signal and pass it to the network, you'd never find out unless you were within a bluetooth's range from the tag yourself. So if your goal is to set this on a car or bike or motorcycle and thinking you'll get notified if the item moves, or someone steals it, you wont know if youre too far away.

I used these in my luggage when flying overseas. Thry kind of work.
I cannot verify completely that they wok as advertised or not because I have power save mode on, and so I am not sure if that effects the effectiveness of how they work.
I could tell that oyr luggage followed us and did not get plac3d onto a pkane going in a completely opposite direction so in this aspect they worked.
