Good points: Small (extremely portable). Comes with connectors for both USB-A and USB-C, so it connects to everything. Seems to be fast. Optional whole-disk encryption is very easy to use, keeps private data private. Bought it on sale at about half price, making it an exceptional value.
Concern: On Windows, less usable storage than I expected. Explanation:
On any device, files have 2 sizes: the actual size, and the amount of disk space they use. On this SSD, files are allocated in multiples of 1MB. So a file of 100 bytes uses 1MB of disk space. A file of 1.001MB uses 2MB of disk space. This wasted space was a problem for me. I replaced a 4TB hard drive with this SSD. With 1.5 million files, the hard drive had nearly 2TB free. The SSD has less than 0.5TB free.
The wasted space might not be a problem for you. It depends on how many files you put on the drive.

Solid product, been looking forward to the increased storage in this series. Not too much larger than my 2GB model but double the storage! Durable, sturdy, solid. 9.5 / 10

The SanDisk 4TB SSD offers fast read/write speeds, ideal for video editing, gaming, and large file transfers. Its 4TB capacity provides plenty of space for extensive media libraries or software installations. Built to withstand shocks, it's reliable for portable use. While more expensive than traditional hard drives, it remains a top choice for those needing high-speed, high-capacity storage. Perfect for content creators, gamers, and professionals.

Exactly what I needed as a backup. I DJ a lot and always have 3-4 backup USB hard drives.
At first, my DJ software did not recognize my music folders or (or vice -versa). A folder with 700 songs would take over a minute to appear. The larger the folder, the longer it took. I almost returned the drive, as I was told as well as read that SSD’s were smoking fast.
After a few reboots and file scans using Virtual DJ, all is working well. I suggest a case to be in your budget as this thing is small. You could easily lose or misplace it.
