It's a nice silent SSD I picked up at a discount. 500 GB is plenty and works well for expanding my laptop storage.

purchased to upgrade a older dell laptop and these help windows 10 performance and we can still make use of the laptops for standard office apps.

I attempted replacing my current 240GB SSD with this 500GB SSD using Acronis software, but failed. I'm unsure if the SSD was at fault or the cloning software. I had used the software , successfully, to replace my hard drive, so I'm puzzled by the outcome. I suspect the software couldn't deal with a SSD source drive. I believe the San Disk SSD was not defective.

Always have a back-up for your laptop and computer. That's the best advice I can give anyone. And make sure your computer is on so the back-up is able to do its job.

So, I needed to replace my 256 GB SSD, I chose this SanDisk and used the recommended software to clone the new drive (Acronis). Everything seemed OK at first, the new drive booted up and everything was perfect! However, next AM, my PC would not boot up on that drive! Ridiculous! Guess what? The old SanDisk 256 GB drive would not boot the computer either. Now I'm stuck!. Years and years worth of data and applications lost. I had to re-install Windows 10 and restore the backup I had made before cloning the new drive. Hmmm? New restore didn't have any of my applications and all my user files and profiles were in folders that I could not access. I will not do this again. Support seems absent! I still have the old drive and everything seems intact but the computer will not boot up.

I buy tons of these as basic, reliable ssds. They do the job and haven't failed me yet! I must've bought over 10 Sandisk SSDs and they work great.

My old hard drive was running very slow so I upgraded to this SSD. Works great so far and is very fast. I would recommend this SSD.

The drive does seem to work, but the documentation strongly suggest updating the firmware after installation. I downloaded the Sandisk update tool, installed it and then ran it. The tool could not find either of the two Sandisk drives installed! I only have two drive, both by the maker of the tool, and it could not find either. Sandisk support keep requesting a data-dump of my system which I did (twice).... then they stopped responding to me. DO NOT BUY THIS DISK.

I bought this to replace the HDD in my mid 2012 MacBook Pro and I couldn't be happier. The cloning process took around an hour since the original drive had a lot of large files onboard. Once that was done, the actual process of swapping the two drives too about 15-20 minutes. Very easy, even for someone who's never taken on such a task. I found several videos online that detailed the process, I followed them exactly and the results were superb. I didn't need any adapters, just a T6 Torx driver and a 00 phillips (really tiny) for the screws on the side of the drive and the case screws, respectively. Boot time is a fraction of what it was and everything is much faster over all. I'm planning on performing this same upgrade to my desktop machine soon. For the price, I'd be silly not to.
