This expansion card is much needed for these new Xbox. The toughest thing here is the price but the performance is there and no issues yet. I have games loaded on the internal hard drive and on this external card. The Xbox performs the same with games loaded from the internal drive or this seagate drive.

Xbox Series consoles come with a fair amount of space as standard, but as more games utilize Smart Delivery and get upgraded software to take advantage of the Series-class horsepower boosts, that space will fill rapidly. While it is possible to shuttle titles back and forth between external media and the console, that becomes tedious and time-consuming.
Enter Seagate and its 1TB Expansion Card. This plug-and play storage solution matches the performance standards of the internal storage of Series X|S consoles and enables more optimized games to be stored. No formatting needed ... insert it into the slot in the back of the console and it immediately sees it.
Frankly, the price is still rather premium for what's offered, especially relative to the cost of an equivalent amount of external storage. However, when measured in time savings and quality of life, that's where the Expansion Card's value lies.

For xbox series s/x. Easy to install. Play games off of the expansion drive. Today a games size can exceed hundreds of Gigabytes. Expanding my consoles ssd memory allows me to download more games to my hard drive.

I recently purchased the 1TB Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S, an Internal NVMe SSD, and it has been a fantastic addition to my gaming setup. This expansion card has significantly enhanced my Xbox experience in terms of storage and performance.
First and foremost, the ease of installation is a huge plus. The card seamlessly slots into the back of the Xbox Series X|S, and it’s immediately recognized by the system with no additional setup required. The plug-and-play aspect is perfect for those who prefer a straightforward, hassle-free setup.
The storage capacity is, of course, the main highlight. An additional 1TB of space is a substantial upgrade, especially for gamers like me who have a large library of games. This expansion card allows for more games to be installed and played directly from the SSD, without the need to constantly manage and shuffle data due to storage constraints.
Performance-wise, the NVMe SSD technology is a game-changer. Load times are noticeably faster, and the gameplay feels smoother, especially in games with heavy load requirements. The fact that this expansion card matches the internal SSD’s speed and performance of the Xbox Series X|S is impressive and ensures that there's no compromise on gaming quality.
The build and design of the card are solid and robust, fitting perfectly with the Xbox’s aesthetics. It doesn’t protrude awkwardly and looks like an integral part of the console.
However, the price point is something to consider. It is a significant investment, and for some, the cost might be a bit steep. But for avid gamers who need that extra space and speed, this expansion card is definitely worth the price.
In summary, the 1TB Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S is an excellent choice for anyone looking to enhance their gaming experience. Its easy installation, substantial storage capacity, and superb performance make it a top-notch accessory for the Xbox Series X|S. If you’re looking to expand your console’s storage without sacrificing speed and efficiency, this is the way to go.

Awesome upgrade of storage space for the Xbox Series X. Super easy to plug in, very small and won't take desktop space or clutter like other drives. Speed is just like the internal Xbox storage. A must if you are on a Game Pass and want to load up on all the great games!

If you have a lot of digital games and don't want to bother with uninstalling all the time to make room on the built-in drive, this expansion card is great to have! The speed is just as good as the internal drive and it's super easy to use, just plug it in and you're good to go.
It is a bit more expensive than I'd like it to be, but if you have money just burning a hole in your pocket, go for it!

I am one of the lucky ones that snagged an Xbox Series X. I also bought the Samsung T7 SSD USB 2tb $269.99 with a $65-off rewards coupon.
With the freedom of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate $15/mo, 2tb just wasn’t enough anymore to juggle all of the 100+ games my friends and I play now. So, I connected my older Seagate ‘lime green’ USB Game Drive 2tb HDD that I had been using with my old Xbox One.
The problem with the Seagate Game Drive USB HDD is that it transfers files to/from the Xbox Series X like an old dog: faithfully but taking forever.
So I bought the Seagate Storage Expansion Card made specifically for Xbox Series X’s expansion card slot 1tb $219.99.
I hooked all drives up to my Xbox Series X, and this is how fast files transfer:

CONCLUSIONS
Based upon the transfer speeds, I now use the drives as follows:
Internal 1tb = only used for Xbox Series X|S Optimized games
Seagate Storage Expansion Card 1tb = used for frequently played games that are not Xbox Series X|S Optimized. Game library of this drive consists of mostly Game Pass games plus older purchased Xbox One games.
Samsung USB T7 SSD 2tb = used to store games that I don’t normally play unless the friends want to play. Load times are so fast off of the T7 that I play the games on it directly off of the T7, unless it is an X|S Optimized game and it is required to be played off if the Internal or Storage Expansion, in which case I just copy it (not move it) from the T7 to Internal and play it from Internal. If a week goes by and we don’t play the game again, I just delete it from Internal. (Because I copied it from the T7 instead of moving it, I am free to delete it on Internal instead of having to move/transfer it back to the T7).
Seagate ‘lime green’ USB Game Drive HDD 2tb = used to store games that I don’t anticipate playing again for quite some time. I would rather move them here instead of deleting them, because the copy time of 15m:30s/100 gb to get the game off of the USB HDD is still 2.5x faster than having to re-download it again.

Expensive but great! This SSD works just like the one in the Xbox Series editions. It’s super fast and easy to use as the memory cards back in the day only this little card is a terabyte . It’s great for transporting games over to a friends Xbox instead of downloading.

It's pricey but that goes for all nVME drives nowadays of this caliber. Easy to install and performs just as well as internal storage. Considering the number of games that get a benefit from this type of storage, this is almost essential.

Impressive, not just in price but it's performance. If the price has you thinking twice, I get it. However, the speed is there and this thing is just like internal storage. If you need extra space, consider it.
You can get other storage for far cheaper, but that may leave you managing your library more than you would care to as you balance optimized games with non-optimized. This takes that out of the equation.

If you have a Series X, or I guess a Series S (though if you're considering this within the first 6 months of owning a Series S, you should've just have gone for the X) this is a great product to have.
I have a lot of games, more than I probably should. So I use this to keep all my FPS games on. COD can suck up quite a lot of space on its own.
Its a bit expensive, until you compare it to high-end NVME SSDs on a PC. Then the price is on par.
The stick will sometimes get a bit warm from extended use, but nothing bad has happened yet.
If you don't care about being able to play your Series optimized games off of the drive, a good recommendation would be to get a large hard drive instead. Got a 6tb drive for under a $100 on Prime day. I use that for my back catalogue of games.

Not bad after the price drop to $150, but still ridiculously priced for 1TB of storage in todays market. However, being that it is proprietary and does the exact same thing as the internal drive, 4 stars is my take. I would give 5 stars if priced at $99, especially now that the series X/S have been out for 2 going on 3 years now. Anyway, it is extremely easy to install, the system recognizes it right away, and you can move games around in storage manager. You get approx 902GB, which is not bad, but game files are SO LARGE. You easily need the 2TB version for breathing room. Wish there was a way to daisy chain these drives if that is even possible. Overall, I am satisfied with the price break and performance. Get one soon before prices go back up to over $200. You've been warned.

If you are not familiar with high end storage for computers or gaming, then it is easy to see where most consumers will think this price point is outrageous. Do yourself some research to understand the tech this storage device uses and compare with other high end external storage options and anything that comes close may be any wager from $20 cheaper to $80 more expensive and you cannot play games off of them like you can with this storage card. To me it was well worth the price for plug n play functionality and it is the same speed as the internal ssd of the console. I can’t recommend this card enough. It’s so worth it that I have 2 storage cards myself. You won’t regret getting this in my opinion

Gift to a close friend for christmas. Increased his storage on his xbox series s. Only issue i have woth this product is cost. There are faster nvme ssds for pcs and playstation that are way more affordable than this first party solution. This does have a way easier installation compared to the nvme counterparts on the compititions gaming platforms.
Flawless performance, integrates into system well!

So far so good, really appreciated the extra storage. Im not the go crazy kind of gamer, but i have at least a good 12games downloaded right now with some extra space to go! The performance is flawless, and I've had no issue playing games, would recommend to anyone, though it is kind of pricey. (I had some bestbuy certificates from the cc so i justified the money)

With how big games are getting and consoles having limited storage this was a must. I wasn't thrilled about the price but I have a terabyte of additional storage and all I had to do was insert and it immediately started working. I've used Seagate hard drives on my computers so I knew this would work great. It's very cool to have that much storage is a small form factor and it's solid state. It is pricey but for ease of use and that much reliable storage you have to "pay to play".

This has been a great investment!
It's simple to use just plug it in the console reads it and you're good to go. There haven't been any issues running xsx games through the card and there has no drops in performance between the internal drive or the card. (I was rearranging a couple of games I played just because ...yea lol.)
I was lucky enough to get the console day one so I ran over to Best Buy and snagged this while trading in my previous gen Xbox.
At the time of purchase the price was cheaper than prices of normal ssd by around $5-10. Not that you can use different manufacturer's ssd in the xsx anyway. At least that I know of currently.

Got the 1TB card. Stores plenty of games and is fast. Only 2 complaints--1 is the price (though it is on sale frequently), and the other is that you can't manage the storage on the card remotely on the Xbox app on my phone, so if you want to install games while you're out, you have to make sure you have space on the internal storage instead. Other than that, great product.

The price is quite high, but now that I gave in and purchased one, I'm glad I did. All of my "Do Not Delete" games had already filled up the Internal Hard Drive on my Xbox Series X, and with Game Pass constantly offering more games, it was obvious that I needed to buy this Expansion Card. It works just as fast as the Internal Hard Drive of my Xbox Series X. It's just nice having more available Hard Drive space on my Xbox Series X. I was surprised at how small this Expansion Card is too. Even though it's expensive, I think it's worth having one if you fill up your Internal Hard Drive on your Xbox Series X or S, especially if you have a Series S.
