This game is a very challenging but satisfying platformer for the Wii U that does a great job of bringing Donkey Kong gameplay to HD. If you enjoyed any previous Donkey Kong Country, this is an easy get, plus it's now cheap enough that I would recommend it to first time players as well.

Its a Donkey Kong game, what else is there to say? For a great review, check out Mark Brown on youtube, I bought this game based on his video and he's correct----its like a Mario-style game with some important tweaks. Really fun and has a lot of replay value.

Kong of the jungle. Holds the spirit of the original donkey kong country games on the snes. Just an amazing game overall: levels are creative and feel alive with so much going on in the surroundings, enemy designs are unique and have character(penguins), soundtrack is superb(David Wise), extensive cast of characters from the donkey kong family to choose from(Diddy, Dixie, Cranky), great art style, and most importantly is just a blast to play. If you love challenging 2d platformers, you'll love this game.

Say what you want about the Wii-U and it's lack of games, but there's no denying the quality of the first party titles the system has to offer. While this game is punishing at times, if you develop a rhythm of sorts, the levels are unparalleled. Additionally, I find the controls much more accessible than those of the previous DKCR iteration from the Wii. I hope you enjoy this masterpiece as much as I have.

Very old school in approach. Sidescrolling goodness that gradually ramps up the difficulty and has side challenges for those who want a bigger challenge

I bought Donkey Kong for my husband and myself...we love playing this game...we did as youngster now as adults. I recommend more people to buy it!

I love this video game! Me and my son have a great time playing and sometimes when we have friends visiting they play with us and we all have a lot of fun.

This is an amazing game that has a beautiful color pallet. The controls are smooth, and makes game play easy. The story line is fun, and the puzzles are challenging. The graphics are incredible. You can see fine details in the scenery, as well as hair and textures. The characters are well thought out, and the bosses are challenging. A fun and up beat game that everyone will enjoy!

I have been a Donkey Kong fan since the SNES game "Donkey Kong Country" came out. I like this game because it still shows resemblance to the original and is still full of fun secrets in each level. I also appreciate the addition of old characters that are playable in this game. (I used to love Dixie Kong!) I do think that this is a bit harder than the Wii version (Donkey Kog Country Returns). It is still very enjoyable and I love the cute penguins throughout.

If you are a fan of the Donkey Kong Country series you will love this game. Everything great about those games with HD graphics

Game was purchased as a family game night gift! Everyone from my 3 year old nephew to my 64 year old mom love it!

I jumped on the Wii U late, but don't regret the purchase despite the negative stigma it has in the gaming media. Tropical Freeze is a must have especially at the $19.99 Nintendo Select Price point. Its a challenging platformer with beautiful art and tight gameplay. Highly recommend for any Wii U owner.

Donkey Kong has always been one of my favorite franchises, now that it's an affordable price I can play it!

I was expecting something more. Controls were good, graphics were good, levels were good, and even the story was good. It was just good though. I found myself playing for 20 minutes at a time at most. Usually doing only 1 level every time I turned on the console. It was good, but it didn't draw me in as I had hoped.

Nintendo Selects: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - Nintendo Wii U is a fun game to have.

The game looks incredible. It gets to be pretty challenging but still fun. Plus with GCU it's $15.99
