We replaced a single oven with double. This eliminated our built in microwave space. To place it above our ovens was going to make the microwave very high. Not a great option for me. Several friends have one in their kitchen is island that is low to the ground and involves bending over to get in. So the drawer was my best option. More expensive but love it!! Couple of my friends are talking about replacing their up high and down low with a drawer microwave now. The drawer to the eye appears smaller but not so. Did I mention we love it? It does have a lock feature so little ones can not work it. Does not have a turn table but have not missed it

We purchased a home that had this microwave previously installed. We owned the home for 6 years and used it daily. Never had a problem. The drawer mechanism was perfect and sturdy. We sold the house and moved. In our new home we are installing this same microwave. This model looks very nice. It stands daily use and we love it.

This microwave is fussy and incompetent. You can't just tell it to reheat a cup of coffee. Oh no. It has to stop in the middle of the process to tell you to stir the coffee. What? I'm going to go get a spoon from the drawer, stir the coffee, push the button again and then have a dirty spoon to put in the dishwasher. My last microwave (a GE) just reheated the coffee, which is what I want.
I tried the thing on Sensor Reheat and it boiled the coffee to the point of having it overflow all over the interior. There is no express as far as I can tell, press 1 for one minute. No, you have to press 1:00 and start to get it going.
It has a hundred functions, none of which seem to do anything except cause more work. If you're retired or bored, this is the microwave for you.

We upgraded our kitchen about 3 years ago. Purchased the Sharp 24" drawer microwave. In January 2015 a storm and lightning strike fried a circuit board on the microwave. We went through our dealer that we bought from and they, in turn, attempted to purchase a new board through Sharp. I have contacted the service department as well and even though the service person at Sharp attempted to help, no help. The after purchase care from Sharp is Zero. They got their sale and that was it for them. You can't tell me that in all of Japan or wherever else they manufacture these circuit boards, there isn't ONE that can be sent to aid in repair. I have told every one I talk to about remodel or construction of new home DO NOT buy Sharp because the service is severely lacking. I am extremely displeased with the care that we have received after spending almost $1,000 on one of their supposed premier models. Please excuse the rant.

Bad Design/Broke/Awful Warranty

We purchased this microwave in 2014. In 2016, the microwave stopped working. Now, if I paid $100 for a microwave that stopped working after two years, I'd be upset. However, when I pay $1000 for a microwave, although I don't expect it to last until the end of time, if it breaks after two years of only using it to reheat coffee, I expect a new microwave to be sent to me by the manufacturer. Sharp advised me, however, that the microwave only came with a one year warranty. Yes, you read that correctly, a $1000 microwave comes with a one year warranty. After three phone calls, Sharp agreed to provide the part needed to make the microwave work again but I had to pay to have it actually repaired. So, I had to pay $200 to have this microwave repaired. Also, in case it hasn't dawned on readers, it's not as if you can just go out and purchase a new microwave: your kitchen cabinetry has to be designed to fit this model of microwave. So, in my case, we had a house fire and when rebuilding the kitchen, I purchased cabinetry to house this Sharp model and never expected we would have replace it so soon. Now, in 2019, the microwave is not working again. So, my options are to purchase a new Sharp microwave or have a contractor come out and remove a perfectly fine 5 year old kitchen cabinet and replace it with one that will fit a different size microwave. As you can imagine, the latter is not a cheap choice but neither is purchasing another Sharp microwave that will inevitably break in a two years. So, you have been warned.

Contacted Sharp who said without an extended warranty they would only cover the magnetron. This is their most expensive microwave, it required a custom installation and they basically walked away from it with a "sorry for your trouble attitude". I also asked them to please record my last call to their service center because they never called me back even after multiple commitments over 3 prior times, said Management would meet to discuss how to handle my problem but it would take several days to decide, and on and on and on. Pretty poor service and support and def not what I thought I was paying for. Never again Sharp, never again.

I've purchased 2 of these Sharp Microwave Drawers. The first microwave was outside of the warranty period and had an issue that couldn't be resolved economically - so we purchased a second microwave drawer. The newer unit was purchased from Best Buy in June of 2020 and here we are in December 2021 and the microwave stopped working. I spent $1400+ the second time around for this microwave. A microwave so expensive should last longer than 18 months! I will not ever consider Sharp as a brand for any of my major appliances due to this experience. Now I have a custom-size hole in my kitchen and a dead microwave. I am stuck with the expensive of fixing my cabinets along with purchasing a new microwave. I am furious. (And yes, I HAVE contacted Sharp USA about this.)

this is a very expensive microwave and we only had it 3 years! Microwave just stopped working and called Sharp numerous times and got run around and around. I finally called a local tech to come look at it and he informed me it was circuit board that is 536.00 dollars. He also told me they are absolutely the worst microwaves ever made for that kind of money . I am sick over this and if I choose to remove I have a hole to fill in. Thank you NOT Sharp!

Sharp has poorly made this product. I purchased one and it came in damgaed and then had to package it back up and bring it back to Best Buy. I ordered another and recieved it two weeks later only to find after I used it twice it wouldn't heat. Sharps customer service was very poor and couldn't find a service technician to fix our new microwave
