Great picture quality, colors are vibrant, nice thin bezel, 3 hdmi ports and a usb port. Sound isn't too great but a cheap sound bar can easily fix that. I've had this tv for about 4 going on 5 months now and haven't had any problems with it. Only cons I have is the first two I got. The first one had a loud buzzing noise whenever turned on. The second had a stuck pixel. Finally the third one was perfect and has stayed that way. 50" for under $400 with plenty of ports. Great deal.

I found it on brads deals for 300$ with free shipping. I got it for the Black Friday price a week early. It was the best deal I had found on every website and ad by far. The reviews were good and I am incredibly happy with the picture and size.

I wanted a new TV that was not 4K, had three HDMI inputs, was not smart, and didn't have the crazy high refresh rates that screw up movies. This one fit the bill perfectly. The prices was perfect as well. I realize that the audio on all of these flat TVs will be bad, but use a Sonos soundbar anyways. It's great for movie night! It appears to support 5.1 audio passthrough on the optical output, which is good. Lastly, the picture "out of the box" wasn't great. I pulled up some tuning videos on Youtube and made adjustments. After that, the pic is great. So far, so good.

I have had this TV for almost a year. Picture quality is great. I can't speak for the audio as I always immediately plug an amplified speaker into any TV I purchase. I did recently begin to notice some cloudy discoloration on the sides of the screen. I put in a call to Best Buy for warranty service and they responded perfectly. They are ordering a replacement screen and will come to my home to repair it under the manufacturer's warranty. Happy customer. I will update after said repair.

You can't beat this TV for under $300. Volume may be a little low but just connect a soundbar or speakers . I have had sharp LCD/LED tvs and never had issues with them. This one I placed up on the wall in my bar area. Looks great.

This was my first Sharp TV purchase, and overall I was very impressed. I had previously been brand-loyal to Samsung flat screens only. But recently I lost three TVs in a storm, and I needed a short-term replacement while I waited for parts to be delivered to fix my existing TVs. I found this TV in-store as an open-box deal. Priced at $300 (for a 50 in), it was equivalent in price to a 40 in. Samsung of similar specs. After spending 30 minutes in-store adjusting the picture settings, I felt that the TV would perform as needed for a month or two while I repaired the Samsungs. After getting it home and spending a bit more time dialing it in, I can say that it is performing extremely well. While it has few frills (it is not a Smart TV), what it does it seems to do very well. I've owned it a month, and am very happy I chose it. When a nice, clean, hi-def signal is sent to it, it is sharp, the color is saturated, and the refresh is totally fine (even for sports). One notable surprise was how loud the speakers are. For evening viewing, I rarely have it above 7 or 8. For those who like to watch music channels, this TV will perform great.

I bought this set to replace an old TV in my home office that I use to watch CNBC during the day. But the quality of the picture is high enough that I find myself watching college ball on Saturdays and DVDs of old PBS series that I own. The only real negative are the speakers. They are adequate. But if you want a more complete viewing experience, invest in a soundbar or a small receiver and a couple of speakers.

I was debating between a 40 inch Samsung and this 50 inch sharp for roughly the same price on Black Friday. The only thing I consistently saw in reviews was that the sound was poor, and being the owner of a 60 inch sharp already I wasn't surprised to see this from others. I went with the sharp over the Samsung and I don't regret it at all, the speakers are way louder than the 60 inch and thanksgiving football looked great on it.

I purchased this Sharp 50 inch LED TV a month ago and I am completely satisfied with it's features, functions, picture and sound quality. Some reviews say they do not have good picture and sound from this TV. I learned that from taking time to tweak the picture and sound settings one can get the type of picture and sound desired. Take the time to adjust the settings on this TV, and downloading the user guide will help greatly. Best Buy treated me very well in helping me make the purchase and gave me an excellent price. We have this TV on most of the day and its performance has been excellent. Again, Best Buy was outstanding in their helping with everything necessary to complete the purchase. I highly recommend this Sharp TV and Best Buy for everything !

Great price great picture, and it's not a smart TV. Seriously those are over rated. The sound is even a step above most flat screens. I play games and it is a huge improvement over my previous 48' plasma. If this is your price range you might not get a better deal and if this is your size requirement this is a great TV.

I've been grinding a TV purchase for the last couple weeks and it looks like I found a winner. You can't beat this bang for your buck. Just got it home linked up today and picture and size is perfect. Lots of adjustments for color depth / brightness etc. Running in Atlantic Broadband HD and looks great. Might want to tone down the "color" a bit, but personal preference. Sales guys will push the Sony's or Samsung's but his looks just as good. I've worked for Sony before so i was comparing tightly. I don't need "smart tv" or 4k, which won't be broadcasted for years. I have a chromecast linked up and all my wireless stuff (Netflix, Plex) going into it threw that. Or just get TIVO, it has it all too. Super streamline, great picture. Lots of hook up's and audio out, which i needed for my HIFI for sound. Best TV out there for this size and price. $450

Since we live in the country & chose to use an indoor antenna for our TV service, this Sharp 50" TV was easy to set up! We've always had Sharp TV's with our last one lasting 13 yrs. This TV has a very clear picture!

I was pleasantly surprised by this tv. I originally came to Best Buy to purchase a Samsung tv that was on sale. It was smaller but many people told me that Samsung tvs have great picture quality. They didn't have it in stock and the girl felt badly so she showed me this tv. It is very basic with it's options. I really only wanted a tv that had good, clear, colorful picture. This tv really measures up. I figured I would just return it if I was unhappy at all. I held onto the box for two days to make sure I was completely satisfied. For the price I can't imagine finding something better in this size. My mom is actually considering buying one after visiting!

I got this set for $399 on a special and couldn't resist. My only complaint is that it really doesn't look like HD in some live NFL games. Particularly CBS. Im not sure if its the refresh rate or something on the other end. Unfortunately, this TV set was bought to upgrade my 42" LED in my living room. I wouldn't call it an upgrade. Other than the live NFL games, the picture is just fine. I will probably spend the extra coin next football season and upgrade to UHD.

The reason I chose this TV is because I've had a Vizio that cost about 500$ since 2009. Going on 7 years soon and it's incredible. So I don't just put faith in a name, processing picture engine, or refresh rates. I go with what I like, and this is what I chose. Also because of the price, no offense to hardcore TV folks, but paying thousands of dollars on a new 4k is just insane. You could get a nice used car for the price of some of these suckers. It's just a TV, they all have a picture, sound, color and most people use them for movies, TV, and some gaming. Period. I always (usually) go with what every one else DOESN'T have. I've found that many of these brands, that have been around for years, still make great quality stuff. Time will tell as far as reliability goes. But I will say I tried two Sony's, had great colors, contrast, darks, but horrible viewing angles. And one had a green line running down the center of the screen. The second had one bad HDMI port. And there were only 2. Samsungs "craftsman" ship is the pits. It has a good picture, but it's nothing special compared to this. And they are overpriced imo. LG seems good and good quality, but just doesn't interest me. Vizio, well I've already owned one and it's been great. I read the reviews and for the size and price, you can't beat this. Sadly Toshiba has went the way of the DOE DOE with it's last stand of a TV for 299$. So I chose not to go that route since it was a black friday deal. And their track record is horrible, and they use to be great. Also they stopped producing TV's all together. So not to sound long winded, but this has a great picture. No fancy Trumotion, Xmotion, Motionplus, yada yada. Just a good 1080p TV that does what it's suppose to. With very "natural" colors, that don't look computerized or overly processed like more expensive sets. Which is what I want. I don't like watching orange faces, or playing games that look like they are moving excessively fast. It's nauseating. Especially for a TV this size. I've played a few PS4 games, great. Two movies so far, great. I don't use cable since it's worthless (to me). I just use Netflix, and movies I've downloaded. And listen to music through it as well, with my 560w sound system. All I need. So happy camper here, and I didn't spend nearly a grand on it to be happy. So enjoy. Yes it's worth it, something goes wrong. It has a warranty, just like all the others (wink)

Overall I rate this as a good, no-frills TV. It offers a good, bright, fairly sharp picture. but is prone to degrade in fact action scenes more that other top-brand 60 Hz TVs on the market, including Insignia. The biggest drawback for me was it's external sound option. On-board sound sound is quite good, albeit a bit weak in volume. It's when you try to hook up external, powered analog speakers that you run into problems, namely that you can't control the volume from the TV, itself. You have to rely upon the volume control of the amplifier that powers the external speakers. Not so with my Insignia TVs, which allow you to control external, powered speaker volume quite well with the TV's volume control. You can control the volume of the eternal speakers on the Sharp if you choose the headphone setting, but the TV's preamplifier is too weak to do the job adequately. This Sharp TV is worth buying at the price I paid: $299, but I'd be reluctant to pay more for it. I rate it a B-. The big question now is "how long will it last before some component in it fails. The power supply on one of my Insignia TVs failed after only three years. Not good when you consider that analog TVs typically lasted 10 -20 years without any failures.
