    Not up to Sony standards

    Replaced old Sony Wega HD tv with built in surround with new Sony XBR55X900E tv. Knew I needed sound bar to have decent sound. Specs on bar alluded that dialogue would be okay. Not true, dialogue was drowned out with minimal adjustment capability. Took it back to store and the only Sony sound system that would meet my needs was $1499. Nothing in between! Disappointing. Ordered Nakamichi for half the price

    My review may not be entirely accurate since I got this as an open box item, probably because it was returned.It was certified by Geek Squad but on getting it home and setting i up to replace my mid level Sony sound bar, this unit had no volume and I couldn't get the sub to kick in. Maybe this was just a faulty unit but I went back to using my original sound bar which sounded much much better.Returned the unit.Still a Sony fan,

    Got a bad unit or the product has a defect which could be potentially solved with a firmware update. If I try to connect any laptop on it and reproduce in my TV I get a red/pink horizontal line on the top of my screen. Overall the product is good. Very satisfied. Uncertain if I should replace it.

    good for movies sound effects with non existent..

    Bought this as per best buy customers recommendation but returned back the next day. Reason; dialogues are not audible and had to cranked up the volume to listen to the dialogues. Night mode nothing helps at all. This sound bar has good cinematic sound effects. Subwoofer is subpar as well with non impressive bass.

    Sound Bar not so soundly

    The Sony sound bar I purchased did not live up to its expectations. I returned the product. It would not work on a consistent basis. One day it seemed to work, the next day it didn't. Strange situation. I could not keep the sound level consistent with the movie or show I was watching. Just not happy with this purchase.

    poor performer

    I got the speakers for my Christmas present for the house. unfortunately the sub wolfer speaker does not always pick up the Bluetooth signal and you have to turn it off then back on to catch the signal. sometimes this happens in the middle of a movie. I paid 300 and think I will bring it back!

    Difficult to connect

    Hooked this up to my 4K Samsung TV. Most times not recognized even though it’s connected via HDMI cord. Have to scroll through the inputs multiple times before the sound will play. Would take it back if it weren’t passed the grace period.

    This sound bar system sounds alright, but the sub woofer “drops” often. I was expecting more from the bar itself. I feel it’s not “clear” enough, somewhat scratchy. I also think it’s ridiculous how there’s only 2 drivers on the sound bar, considering the size of bar

    Only way this soundbar worked was by optical connection. HDMI did not work out of the box. Multiple calls to Sony support finally resulted in me sending this off for repair under the warranty.

    3 weeks after installing it lost connection and say “please wait”. It will not do anything... waiting on customer service to respond... Guess I will be going back to Best Buy and returning if I can.

    Quality is just terrible, stopped working

    Quality of this product is just terrible. First off all you could barely hear the bass. Remote is very laggy. And the most important is just stopped working after 7 months.

    I have the older version of this and this model is a down grade for sure. The bass is so quiet I thought it was synced at first. I returned this after a couple days as it wasn't worth the money.

    Was talked into getting a Sony soundboard with my new 900e. I have a Vizio that is half the price and twice as clear. I was unhappy with it and wish I could have saved my 10% coupon for another item.

    I find that it I have to constantly adjust the volume. The subwoofer is overpowering it drowns out the speech of the actors. Would not buy again.

    I had trouble from the first time I turned my tv on. I was told the sound bar would automatically come on but it didn't. I still can't get sound.
