    Great speaker, expensive

It's a great speaker for someone looking for good music, bass along with voice when watching movies. You can adjust the volume and bass from zero to ear bleeding music. Night mode is a plus, though not something I use frequently Three HDMI in sources with one HDMI out to the TV is great, especially since my TV only had 2 HDMI in, now I can transmit without having to changeover my HDMI cables. It will transmit the video through the speaker to the TV and the audio will play from the 2.1 speaker. The balance is great and wireless bass means less clutter. Issues: Casting with Google home is sometimes a pain. Tries to start my TV everytime I cast music, which doesn't make sense. To stop it from doing so, I have to disable the start TV on signal setting, which clearly negates the whole HDMI interaction feature. They should provide an option to choose whether we want it to start the TV when casting music, for all other purposes you can start the TV. Doesn't play well with my Samsung smart TV, don't know whose fault it really is. The sound doesn't come from my smart TV back to the speaker even though the TV supports ARC. For signals from outside to the TV it works OK, even though sometimes it is a pain to get it to send the audio to the speaker and I have to restart both my speaker and my TV a bunch of times to get it to work right. Rear surround speakers are 199$ each, or 299 for 2 speakers. It's definitely on the expensive side and the 2.1 system doesn't support any other speaker.

    Not What I Thought

I purchased the sound bar and surround speakers thinking I would have improved TV sound but also stereo (music) capability. I was told that my Bose Wave system would connect to the Sony ---not so. I probably spent 16 hours on the phone with Sony trying to get the darned thing set up. Once complete, I discovered the speakers would disconnect from the wireless system when the system was shut off and it was a real hassle trying to get them to connect again. With the inability to connect my existing music system to the Sony and with speakers that had to be reconnected to the wireless network each time (difficulty to do), I was left with a sound bar that only enhanced my TV. What I need is more music, not more TV. I am returning the item in hopes of finding a product line that better suits my needs. The sounder is very nice but for the money, I need more capability.

    Wanted To Love It

Purchased as Open Box at Best Buy (store display with no remote) so I added Geek Squad for install. The wireless subwoofer would not pair so the Geeks thot I NEEDED the remote. Found one on eBay called the Geeks back, same result. The TV and Blue Ray player are newer Sony products as well so I thot adding the soundbar would be seemless but NO-O-O-. The Soundbar itself is a good product but the unit as a whole looses function without the subwoofer. Sadly, I'm GOING TO RETURN even though I love the sloping design of the soundbar.

For the price and value, seems to be a good fit. Sound is crisp and clear. But... its hard to separate the voice from the noise, so when you turn it up to hear the voices, you also turn up the noise (and by noise I mean all the crash booms and bangs) and it can carry some loud noises! It definitely enhances the sound if you are just listening to your TV speakers, but doesn't separate the voice channel enough

    Need Rear Speakers

I purchased this to replace an inexpensive 'wired' 5.1 Sony surround sound system. This might have been a little naive on my part. The soundbar is clear and has plenty of volume, but the idea that it can produce a cinematic surround sound experience alone is deceiving. I purchased (2) Sony bookshelf speakers today in an effort to remedy the situation. Fingers crossed it works.

I would give this more stars, but every time I turn my TV on the main menu for the sound bar pops up. Very annoying. Makes us have to use two different remotes to simply turn the TV on. I haven’t been able to figure out how to avoid this issue. Other than that sound quality is good, but nothing to blow you away with.

The bar sounded good in the store but when I got it home not so much so I went back to the store & talked to salesman about it & he said I needed to get the heavy duty HDMI cable for $70 so I did but it didn't help that much more so I returned them both.

I would rate this higher if the dialogue audio was better—maybe I didn’t calibrate it right—the audio sounds wimpy and not robust. The subwoofer is a beast—you’ll wake up the whole neighborhood on full blast. I like how it syncs seamless with the Sony Tv—WiFi capable—very responsive

We were told & in store shown sound quality but after getting it home we can’t seem to keep it connected & it’s so aggravating trying to connect it every time we want to use it..we don’t. IF I knew how to use it properly I guess I would use it.

    No Remote

Only reason why I will give this a 3 star because I traveled 40 min to go to bestbuy for this item. It was an open box item and no remote. Are you kidding me no remote included in the soundbar purchase. I will be calling corporate to make a complaint regarding my purchase.

It’s ok. Not crazy good sound. Bass seems a little soft. I wish it had a leaning function on the sound bar for remote volume. I hate to use there remote along with my Fios. I got it to work a little but doesn’t always work great.

I was looking for a free standing sound bar and the sales rep suggested this product. I did NOT want a wall mounted bar and when I got home to open it, it was not the product I thought it was going to be. Never tested sound. Returned right away

This product has great features. However, I am not fully satisfied with the level of volume I'm getting. One need to put the volume all the way up to get clear output. When I googled the issue,I found out that many people have similar issue.

Purchased this soundbar with the hopes of loving it. Sound came across with more of an echo. Subwoofer offered good bass. Would recommend looking at Sony 9000f or eventual model I purchased the z9f.

I had to replace a 5.1 HTB, and choose this after speaking to an associate. It starts up very slowly, and sounds thin on the default, but sounds fine on the movie setting. Haven't tried adding surround speakers yet.

This put out good sound and is much louder and clearer than the speakers. I gave it 3 stars and not more because the sub woofer is very week. Doesn't really give much bump.
