disappointed in picture and sound quality

I expected much better from Sony

It may be limited to the Slim Backlight Drive technology. Maybe a software update could help the problem (running PKG3.531.0108NAB). Unit has difficulty displaying "fast forward" content from BD, DVR, etc.. Has problems switching HDMI formats when changing channels. Sound quality is dismal. I own four other Sony units - this one just doesn't compare favorably to previous Sony offerings. Going to repair my plasma and sell this one.

Product great service terrible

Power went out at the kickoff of the superbowl so I spent my superbowl Sunday running to Best Buy to see if it was the power cord. Ended up returning and having them bring a new one. They were supposed to unbox it for me as i live alone. Delivery guys did not and tv ended up getting damaged when i removed it on my own. Still works but very unhappy with Best Buy and would likely go to another store for purchase in the future.

Tv was awesome until it broke today

Go through the support and warranty bs . unplug it plug it back in. Im not an idiot Ive already tried it. Warranty guy does "online" diagnostic, says it needs parts, I say ok are you Extending my one year warranty answer is no. I had an xbr4 that I never had a problem with that I gave away to buy this pile. Sony youre fired.I guess ill have to buy the next kia disposable junk from another manufacturer

disappointed in quality

This 55 Sony very disappointing in color, contrast, crispnes, menus, setting up, sound. had to buy $800 sound bar. nothing like the one i had. Recd TV and got LG OLED 55 which out preformed Sony 100% Sony TV has lost what they use to have.

If Geek Squad can't fix, I'm going back to the top of the line Samsung, full refund and and exchange, since I purchased the protection plan.

Stay Away

It was an open box $1500 tv that was discounted. I used my bestbuy credit card and bought it because no interest credit card and thought that I was getting the best. WRONG! The salesman offered additional geek squad coverage, but I declined because he said it was fully covered by the manufactureres warranty for a year; WRONG. Now I have a bad tv that I am making payments on

I purchased this TV after reading about the slim backlight drive and the great reviews from buyers and experts. I am amazed by the picture quality. I sold my Panasonic ZT60 an year ago, and regretted it ever since, thanks to Sony's XBR55X930D, I am finally satisfied with picture quality. While out of box picture quality was good in itself, I do like to play with different expert settings, I tried the settings from Cnet and Rtings, still wasn't satisfied with settings for regular/non-hdr content, but the settings that delivered mind blowing picture quality on regular content (non-hdr content) was www.soundandvision.com settings (http://www.soundandvision.com/content/sony-xbr-65x930d-lcd-ultra-hdtv-review). I will play with hdr settings later, I think any of the settings from cnet, rtings or soundandvision should work great for hdr content. Thank you Sony for making this TV, thank you soundandvision for providing me best settings. I am a happy TV viewer now !

Broken Twice - Sony won't help

Sony will not help. When it worked it was great, but it has not even lasted 2 1/2 years. Spoke with Sony and they refuse to offer any help or stand by their quality. Used to respect the brand. Not anymore.

Sound bar is the worst product ever

I have to go through your geek squad and I'm leaving in one week to live in a different state, so I'll never ever shop there again

Image has a dark tint, and when a white background is displayed, a dark grey shadow appears all around. I have purchased Sony in the past. I not ve a return customer after this experience.

Didn't last four years

Absolute Disappointment
