We bought the LG OLED 55"tv, and after using it for 2 months took it back to target. In every way that TV failed the Sony had blasted through with flying colors. The picture is better than the LG and the user interface is smarter. Plus the LG has NO APPS!! The sony has everything, if you're going to spend the money just pay the extra and get the Sony.

    The best

This tv is superb. I am aware that there is an A9G model which has a very slight upgrade in technology, but either is the best 55 inch money can buy you. If this or the A9G are on a deal for $2500 or less you need to snatch it up. I got mine for $2000 on a one day deal. It was out of the box ready, no picture or sound modifications needed. I bought a separate table top mount which was easy to install the tv onto. The layout of inputs on the back of the tv and labeling is clear and easy to understand. The sound quality is excellent (I personally prefer my sound bar but if you are looking to be cost conscious the tv speakers will perform just great for you). If you haven’t had an OLED before, this will blow any tv you ever have had out of the water. I previously had an LG OLED from the C7 series, and that tv had a stuck pixel the third day I had it. I used the tv for a year and a half and it never went away no matter what I tried to do to fix it. It was a nice tv, but in a lower league than the Sony. Buyers advice: if you do not own or stream a good amount of 4K or HDR do not size up higher than the 55 inch. This tv does play all content nicely but watching lower quality media can be a little uncomfortable. Getting larger than a 55 inch will make viewing lower quality media even more uncomfortable especially if you’re viewing range is not very far.

Best TV since the Pioneer Kuro

I own an LG B6 OLED and recently bought the Sony A9F. The A9F is just a level beyond the LG. Picture processing and color rendition is simply the best. The picture has a dimensionality that was always missing on the LG. Motion is superb with black frame insertion, especially with film content which will then play back at 48 Hz, just like at an actual cinema. Overall I feel like I am looking at a reference monitor when watching movies. It's worth mentioning the upscaling on the Sony. It actually lives up to the hype. You can kick it up even further by turning on the "reality creation" setting. Now even standard 1080p content on blu-ray or netflix looks almost like native 4K. Build quality and design are also top notch. Not only does the all black picture frame look really elegant, this TV is built like a tank with premium materials in a time when every other TV is built with cheap plastic. Verdict? Best TV since the legendary Pioneer Kuro and Panasonic ZT plasmas.

Best OLED TV if you like realism

Beautiful display and perfect sound. The TV is a must buy if your got a PS4 Pro and some money to waste. I will not tell you that is better than LG or Panasonic, but is different and in areas like sound and smoothness is way superior. More realism in the display than any other OLED (If you like excessive colors-stay with LG)

    Sony Out-Performs All Others

Sony has created the best television experience you will be able to get this year. That is until the Sony 2019 Models come out. You have to see it to believe it. The level of detail is truly remarkable and the sound from the TV speakers holds its own against any other TV sound system. Utilizing the TV as the center speaker just improves any surround system. For all you lucky ones purchasing this model or the 2019 models you are in for something special.
