Outstanding TV

The sound is very good though we added a Sony soundbar which makes it tons better. Picture quality is outstanding! Still on the fence regarding the Sony Bravia Core entertainment as most of the movies we have access to on Netflix or other platforms. Very worthwhile purchase!

Worth the price for this name brand

The processesor is fast to help switch between apps very quickly. TV startup time is quick. Picture quality is obviously top of the line. The sound is great since the whole screen is a speaker.

Dark scene too dark in light room

Owned for 6 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good TV good picture however, on dark scenes with a dark wood floor you can’t see the grain (for example), It’s hard to pick up detail specially in a light room. Also, HDR content is very dark. You have to make adjustments to lighten it up and you can’t see anything.

We are pleased you are enjoying the overall picture quality of your K-65XR80, but we are sorry to hear that you are struggling to see detail in dark scenes and that HDR content appears too dim, especially in your light room. This is certainly not the optimal experience.
This issue often relates to specific picture settings designed to handle varying room light. We recommend checking the following:
Light Sensor: Ensure this setting is enabled in the picture settings to automatically optimize screen brightness for your bright room.
Picture Mode: Switch to a Custom or Cinema mode, as these often provide a more balanced starting point for HDR.
Gamma/Black Level: Try increasing the Gamma setting slightly to lift shadow detail and make dark scenes clearer.

When I was at Best Buy looking at the TVs, this one looked the best compared to all of the others around it. It’s beautiful and works excellently with our new Sony Theater Bar 8 and the PS5. Super happy with this purchase!

Perfect for what I wanted in a YV

I had to adjust some pictures settings using some general calibrations but after that it looks amazing. I have no issues with the interface as it is just like my Chromecast. It is perfect for movies and tv.
