The picture is just slightly better than Sony LED TVs of late, which is a good thing for the LED side of the business. Picture is sharp, but there are some artifacts here and there. That may be from my source material or it may be because I bought an open box. At this point I am unsure. But you really can't go wrong with Sony, period.

Streaming from phone apps works seemlessly. Connection to Reciever works great with ARC port. Google TV OS has tons of flexibility and TV itself has a ton of options.

The quality I saw in there made me purchase this tv . When I got it home it hits different than what I saw in the store . Not as high quality as I saw it . But overall I’m satisfied with it . TVs are set up for Shop Front display settings, while in a store, which are very bright and vivid and a bit different due to optimized lighting, but we’re happy to hear it’s still a good fit for you at home. Having said that, the quality of the source is a big factor in getting an excellent picture quality. As a workaround, you might try adjusting the picture settings, such as increasing the brightness or switching to a different picture mode for a more balanced look. The picture quality may improve if you change it in [Picture] under [Settings].

Main board failed in 7 months - part out of stock

The picture is very good, sound with built in speakers is OK, but good with Sony Bravia sound bar. The TV has turned off in the middle of watching perhaps a dozen times and won't come back on unless I unpug it, wait a while, then plug it back in per Sony's instructions That seems to reboot it and it works again for a while. Then in july 2025, 7 months after purchase the red light at the bottom of the tv started blinking - 3 blinks, a pause then 3 more blinks. It wouldn't turn on. I unplugged it to reboot it, but it still wouldn't come on. A google search said it was a hardware issue. Contacted Best Buy who wouldn't help because tv was still under warranty. Contacted Sony who diagnosed it as a main board failure. The ordered a new board and gave me the name of a local company who would repair it when the part came in. Then I got an email from Sony saying the part was on back order. A week after it quit working Sony says they don't know when the part will arrive - blamed it on the tariffs interupting supply chain. I have a Best Buy Total Protection Plan but BB won't help while Sony is trying to resolve. So my $1700 tv quit working after 6 months and we have been without tv for a week.

A great Sony TV

So we started looking at the other tvs and was empress with the 65” Sony. The salesman was very good with info and we bought it and had it delivered. The tv was delivered on time and the service was great.

Great tv!

There is no lag (thinking) when switching between channels, inputs, or apps like my old Samsung. Sound is decent for tv speakers. I love the voice zoom since it’s hard for me to hear voices during movies/shows. Picture is crystal clear.

Commercials loud and shocking

But sometimes the sound like its jumped to a louder volume for commercials and certain parts of shows. Quiet a nerve racking experience.

You can try setting the Advanced auto volume to [Auto] and this should keep the volume constant. You can go to settings > display and sound > sound > advanced auto volume > auto.
