Open Box TV, that was never checked out at Store.

The store informed me that the TV was checked out by the Geek Squad. At home, I found that the TV would not work. I then got the Total Tech (Geek Squad) to see what they could do to get the TV going. Well, the Geek Squad informed me to call Sony. Sony, after taking several pictures of the TV and the model, Serial, and purchase receipt, that Sony would send me a new TV. I am currently waiting for the New TV.

Setting it up can be a little tricky (getting the best picture) as I wish it really came with a guide on how to do that or suggestions!

Don’t buy if you watch NETFLIX

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We were excited about our new tv BUT the enthusiasm has waned when we discovered that when watching certain NETFLIX shows made in ‘vision’ ( which is extra high definition I think) the tv QUITS OUT and goes back to whatever you were watching before. MAJOR DRAG as there are more and more shows made this way. We’ve tried clearing the cache as well as the as all the usual tricks but apparently SONY NEEDS TO UPDATE THEIR SOFTWARE??? Thinking of returning!

We regret to hear that the Netflix app crashes. This is definitely not the viewing experience we want you to have. We'd love to help you troubleshoot your problem and turn this into a better experience.
If the Netflix app immediately closes or crashes upon launch, follow the steps below.
Delete the application data for the Netflix app.
On the supplied IR remote control, press the HOME button.
Under the Settings category, select Settings.
Under the TV category, select Apps.
Select System app.
Select Netflix.
Select Clear data.
Select OK.
Launch the Netflix app

Our cable service is spotty at best (Comcast) and goes out at least once per month.

Great until it stops working.

A few months after purchase it started blinking black on and off while watching a show. A few weeks later it exhibited other odd behaviors and eventually would not turn on at all. Sony support was unable to get a local repair person, so they sent a new TV. The new TV is starting the same symptoms now again on 1/28/2022. We’ve had it on a UPS the entire time, taking great care of it. Ugh…!

Big mistake, but once you take the time to get out of box and set it up who wants to try to return. The Lg colors are way more natural, there is no lag in motion on the Lg when watching shows or anything for that matter, and due to lack of clarity I can barely see what’s going on 15 ft away on this a90j. . Not a terrible tv but for the price not worth it in my opinion. A super updated version would be nice
