My wife and I like to cruise & travel by car & motorcycle. I've been shooting with Olympus, Ricoh, Canon and Nikon since the mid-60's. For the past two years, I've switched over to the Sony a6000, a7Riii, a7Riv & a9ii. I love to shoot Radio Controlled aircraft. When I saw the specs on this palm-sized wonder, I had to check it out. I truly expected to find some shortcomings/compromises. I haven't yet. I keep this camera within arm's reach at all times. Right now, it's on the couch beside me-just in case the cats get cute! Focusing is quick and accurate. Metering is spot on. It's solid build quality is everything that I've come to expect from Sony. It's a point and shoot with a manual function. The pop-up eyepiece is a super feature. The 200mm equiv. zoom is handy. If I need more reach, my a9ii & 200-600mm is in my bag. The RX100 is an amazing camera. With the Kit, you should be able to blog to your heart's content. I am super happy with this addition to my arsenal. Princess, we're ready for the next cruise! Highly recommend Sony cameras, especially, the RX100-series cameras.

This cyber shot is very easy to pack and/or carry without adding bulk or much weight. I highly recommend also acquiring the shooting grip kit which not only makes it easier to grip and handle while traveling in a moving object like a boat, but also helps keep the pictures and video images steady. The high resolution of this camera, both in normal lighting and low light dusk conditions, is impressive as is the battery life after a full charge. This is now my go-to camera device and preferred over my phone camera.

High Quality "In the Pocket" Camera for Travel

Not a pro, but hoping for pro-quality photos from this high end camera. A bit early to say if my goal has been met or not, but clearly the camera delivers nicely focused auto-setting photos. The tri-pod/handle with the ability to trigger shots from the handle is a treat, allows me to take photos in crowds, from low and high angles, and in rapid succession. Size was important to me, the camera makes it as a pocket size - just barely - but far improved over a similar (but larger) high end camera that was simply too large for pocket carry. Flash is powerful, but not sufficient for more than 20 feet. Still working on figuring out some of the features, a rather complex camera, but so far worth the effort.

More than just point& shoot, with excellent megapixel and speed. Easy menu selection. Grip provides single frame/movie selection with zoom and the small tripod balances well if external mix is also attached.

I had sold my V a couple of years ago. I forgot what a neat "compact camera" it was. Lot's of features.
Other than the compactness I appreciate the 3mm mic* and the ability to articulate the screen 90 degrees for selfie shots.
*The onboard mic was as good as my lav mic as long as there is no wind. I recorded with both onboard and lav mic as I stood in front of a fan and you would need a wind diffuser if you want to keep noise level down. However, in some outdoor recordings having the ambient sound of the wind adds to the video footage.
Am still deciding on the tripod / grip that I will use with the VII.

Ordering my new camera onlne for in-store pickup was very easy. Product pricing was competitive with other online sellers, but I chose Best Buy for the security of using Geek Squad product protection for this very expensive camera.
