    When the FX3 was announced it was criticized for being too much like the A7SIII and lacking the evf was a turn off for some. What some fail to realize is that this is a cinema camera workhorse. Not only can you continuously record it has a built in fan and heatsink that keeps the device at a stable temperature. Not only is it practical in size but it has all the extensions needed to add a rig or gimbal support. Look if you dont mind not having an evf this is a great cinema camera. Theres also an option to shoot stills if needed. Its low light capabilities are impressive and it allows you to push it up to number like 50k and still have perfect image quality. If you want something thats going to work long hours continuously then i higly recommend this camera. Cant wait to get back from work to go out filming again

    An Amazing A cam

    What can I say about this camera that hasn't already been said? I purchased as a new A-cam to use my A7IV for B-cam and some times stills. I love the small form factor on this camera for easy run-and-gun filming, but otherwise easy to build out with a cage, monitor, etc. Sits great on a gimbal, also. The image quality is amazing and have had no issues after shooting with this for almost a year. If you're looking to get a boost in video quality and give yourself the ability to rig out, this is the one.

    WARNING! Do not order for home delivery!

    The camera is great, but Best Buy treatment of a loyal customer is not. I do own the camera because I ended up buying it from a regular camera store but please read story below as a warning. DO NOT accept them to offer shipping this camera to your home. I ordered the camera for pick up at a store in NJ (they said they had it in stock). As I was driving to pick up the camera, an employee called me to tell me that the camera available was an open item even though it did not state so on the website. Given this, he offered to change my order to shipping instead so that I could get a new camera as fast as possible (2 days). I was hesitant at first because I pefer the safety of picking up at the store but otherwise I would have to wait a week. I like to buy at Best Buy because I get rewards and just like supporting them. I took the day off from work to wait for the delivery since that this camera is so expensive. The package arrived and I opened it immediately to find a "sealed" camera box. When I opened the box, the camera was not in the box and it was replaced by a DJI controller and DJI battery. I literally felt dizzy and nauseous at that moment and immediately drove to my local best buy. hey know me in this store as I have been buying there for 15+ years. The manager and I sat together to call Best Buy customer service (1-888-237-8289). Initially, everything went well and my money was refunded through customer service phone support. The manager from the store asked Best Buy customer service what he should do with the box. They basically told him that it did not matter what he did with the box. The money was refunded so they don't care. The manager insisted for a return label. So Customer Care sent him a return label even though they told him that he did not have to return it. I left and drove immediately to a camera store about 20 miles away to purchase the camera. I wanted this camera very badly. Fast forward two weeks later, UPS drops the same pacakge I had dropped at the store back in my house. I opened and there was a letter basically implying that I had stolen the camera and therefore they won't accept the return. Then I looked on my credit card and saw that they had charged me again for the camera. Customer Service at this point was useless because the return of the box (which did not have to happen) was flagged as fraud and that does not allow them to refund the item. I also learn that the people I was speaking with were in South Africa. I went to the store and the manager who was there admitted that the mistake was that the other manager sent the package back even though it had already been refunded. He reviewed the notes from that day and reiterated that it should all have been closed after refund. At the same time, he could not do anything but only help me file a dispute with the credit card company. So at this point I am waiting for the dispute investigation. In the meantime, I filed a police report, have a lawyer lined up, and submitted all my evidence to the credit card company. I am $4k+ down. I am 47 years old, been buying at Best Buy since college, and even more since getting a high earning job that helps me buy the toys I want. When they were at the brink of bankruptcy, I made sure I would buy anything from them instead of Amazon. This experience has certainly changed that my loyalty to Best Buy, As I wait for this to resolve, I am not buying anything else from them. I am not using my Best Buy credit card, I am not even stepping on their store again. This experience has been frustrating, enraging, and has caused me and my family a lot of stress. This has been a nightmare and hours of my life wasted.

    At the time writing of writing this review. It is the best 4K video centric camera out there. Consider no other option if you in the market to buy a pro grade camera for video. Really love the form factor and it’s capabilities. I have a 14mm F1.8 GM lense on it. Ultra wide looks stunning.

    This is the best bang for your buck cinema camera you can buy. Slog3 in lowlight situations are insane, and the camera itself gets overlooked for it's ability to shoot photos!!

    So far so good, will update as I continue using. Overall form factor is a little above average, nimble to carry but the grip although a little larger than the A7siii it can take some time to get used to, not that it's bad but I personally find it not as ergonomic as I would want but again this can be subjective. As far as overall thoughts, so far image is okay, better than most camera bellow it's price range but not by a lot. And usage is pretty discrete and there is possibility here.

    Appreciate BestBuy carrying the higher end Sony lines. Used their 18month interest free financing for my business to get this great Sony camera. Upgraded from the a7iii. Use it a lot for Live Streaming on location. No more 30 minute limits on recorded clips. Too many features to list here.

    one of the best of its kind out there. you need to research its menu system before using it for a gig if you havent used this before. it's a great camera. battery isn't too bad but it's not the best. low light, controls, etc are amazing

    Best Old Cinema Camera

    Bought it last year and I can say I enjoy this camera nonetheless. I use it for sports videography so the 120fps comes I handy. Only thing to dislike is the small LCD screen especially with the new Nikon ZR having a 4 inch display. It’s 12 mp so it can take photos but is suited for video which I’ve done plenty of. Its build quality feels great in hand. Overheating has never been an issue especially in the Texas heat. It has got super warm when I left it in my car yet still ready to film with the built in cooling. Lowlight capabilities are outstanding and mind blowing how much this camera can push boundaries especially with a release date in 2020 and not having an AI chip. Only thing I can wait for is a mark 2 of this monster camera. Yes the A7SIII has the same sensor but build quality of this camera is understandable for the price. I even use the record button in the front. It’s a camera that for the price makes you want to film content.

    I am a professional surf filmmaker, and this camera has helped my career progressmore than I expected. I use it in some of the nose harsh conditions and it stands up to it all. Truly love this camera for all it is, and one added bonus which is the reason I purchased it in the first place, is its size. It may look small (nice for fitting in small places) but it packs a punch. Only thing it's missing (easily replaceable) ND Filters.
