Impressive Quality, but a heavy beast. I initially purchased the F4, but returned it a week later for the F2.8, and I am so glad I did. The difference is clear in terms of build and image quality. I can see the tiny hairs on my dog shooting free hand from appx 30 ft away. The large aperture lets me 8ncrease the shutter speed further to freeze her in motion. The focus is quick, consistent, and constant. Love it and I dont regret the 3k with insurance just in case.

Very expensive but it’s a super nice lens! I was totally amazed at how sharp my pictures are. This lens is awesome for sports, I’ve shot basketball games and have had some great shots. It’s very fast and this will help get that action shot. It’s not my go to for landscape shooting but I recommend it for everything else. Great bokeh for portraits. 2.8 all the way through is sweet. If you are considering anything else because of price, hold off a little longer and save up for this bad boy. Wife had a heart attack when she found out what I spent but she understood after she seen the shots of the kids.

I love my new sony lens, I've been waiting for a sale to happen to grab one. I finally got one. It delivers razor-sharp images, fast and accurate autofocus, and beautiful bokeh. It’s built like a tank but still lightweight enough for handheld use. Perfect for sports, portraits, and live events worth every penny.

I own this and the 24-70 GM. This lens is actually a lot sharper than the 24-70 GM. What's most amazing about this is how it's not too heavy but robust, and has stabilization built in. I've used this lens in extreme environments. Both hot and cold. It also has stayed in my bag in my trunk through scorching hot Connecticut summers. No fog, discoloration, or fungus through all of that. I've used it countless times for fast paced dance showcases with both my A9 and my A7iii. Focusing is quick and accurate. I did have an issue with it focusing with my A7iii at one point but that was corrected with a firmware update to the lens which I received for free on Sony's website. I love the white color with the orange G badge on it. This is one of those lenses that when you take it out of your bag and mount it on your camera, you can feel everyone's perception of you in the room change. There's obviously a professional present. The tripod collar can be rotated and even detached from the body. Filter thread is 77mm so a variable ND is going to be moderately priced. I also photograph boats and other landscape scenery. This performs wonderfully and I can't wait to get the 2x teleconverter for some extended reach. All in all I would definitely buy this lens again. For in depth details about how accurate this thing is there's websites out there that can show you this. I love it and the color is phenomenal.

I'm amazed by the versatility of this lens. I can get great portrait shots in addition to action, sports, and landscape. I originally bought the step down with the higher apature but couldnt get the best shots. The 2.8 on this lens is a true difference maker for sure. Id highly recommend spending yhe extra dollars here to upgrade. For me its been well worth it.

This is an incredibly sharp and fast lens. The bokeh is buttery smooth and provides a nice separation between the subject and the background. I also own 24-70GM which is an excellent lens but this 70-200GM easily edges out in sharpness and bokeh. I love the focus hold buttons on the barrel that I have programmed to eye-AF. Another thing I love is that the zoom mechanism is housed inside of the barrel so when zooming in, the already long lens doesn't protrude any further which will definitely make it imbalanced and uncomfortable while hand-holding. It works really well for portraits as well as nature photography, especially flowers and animals. Sports is another area where this lens just shines. This is my first time using 200mm focal length (outside of a Bestbuy store anyway) so I was somewhat disappointed when I couldn't get far away subjects to fill the frame. I was expecting to be able to zoom in much further. But that is purely on me due to lack of prior experience with 70-200's. I will be purchasing a 2X extender in the future. Lastly, like all GM lenses, this is an expensive piece of glass. It took more than a year to save up for this beast and I am really glad that I finally have it in my collection. With zero regrets, I can easily recommend this lens to anyone who values high quality images.

This is probably one of the fastest auto-focusing lenses I've ever used. Previous to this, I was using a Canon 70-200 2.8 IS V2, and that was an exemplary lens all on its own. However, this Sony version is just as sharp as that lens and this comes in at a smaller size, plus, its ability to work with Sony's eye-tracking makes this the better lens overall. Its on the pricier side but if you know your use for it (e.g. sports, events, etc.) its something that you need to have so that you never miss the shot when you need it most. It's worth saving up for and as I write this review, it looks like its price and value hasn't changed much since its first release, so its definitely 'worth the shot'. Enjoy!

I’ve really enjoyed using the Sony FE 70–200mm f/2.8 GM OSS. The image quality is excellent — photos are sharp, colors look great, and the background blur is smooth and professional-looking. Autofocus is fast and accurate, even when shooting moving subjects, and the built-in stabilization helps a lot when shooting handheld. The lens is on the heavier side, but it feels solid and well-built, which gives me confidence when shooting in different conditions. Overall, it’s a high-quality lens that delivers consistent results and is well worth it for anyone serious about photography.

My experiencing using the 70-200 has been fabulous for motorsports photography as well as portraits/events. I would recommend this lens to anyone using Sony products with the E-Mount. Great quality and fabulous autofocus.

What more could you ask for in a zoom? This thing is insanely Sharp the focusing is extremely fast and it works really well in low-light situations with the 2.8 aperture. The only downside I have with this lens is the fact that it is big and it is heavy but if you can look past its large exterior you will not be disappointed!

Have only used it a few times but has great results so far!! More expensive but having the constant f2.8 is going to be great for indoor sports

Fantastic build quality, images are super sharp and fast focus. The only gripe I would have is its a bit heavy but other than that I am happy with it.

I did a lot of research on this lens before I made the purchase. It was definitely an expensive lens, and luckily I had quite a few rewards dollars to use, but even if I didn't, I feel like this lens would have been worth every penny. I shot my first high school football game last week, and the pictures were absolutely phenomenal. Paired up with the Sony A7iii, I couldn't believe how quick the pictures took and how crisp and clear they turned out. I was deciding between this and the 700-200mm f/4, and I am very glad I paid a little extra for this lens. Love it and would definitely recommend it if you can look past the price!

I wasn’t sure at first since this lens has bad reviews from big time photographers but this lens is fast, sharp, & has amazing quality! Its pretty heavy! Your hand/arm will feel it lol.

Crispiest lens I've ever owned. It is definitely heavy, but you'll feel like you're taking photos again for the first time if you get this. Save up your coins for this exact model. It's worth it.

This is my new favorite lens. The focusing is super fast and quiet. Image quality is top shelf through zoom range (on my A7iii). This thing is a beast, so it's a little on the heavy side. Bring a tripod.

The quality of the photos taken are clean and awesome. Fits perfectly onto my Sony a7 iii and super durable. Perfect for low light photography, and it is versatile to use more than just sporfs photography.

Very nice quality, but is heavy. Price should be lower.
