For the price while on sale getting 13% off the regular price they set connect very quickly for a wireless unit that headphones are very comfortable and they do not agitate or hurt your ears I use them strictly for PlayStation 4 and even though while playing when my wife Asks a question I can still hear if she’s asking a question there is zero distortion and especially if you’re handicap or disabled I highly recommend this headset for gaming and of course this is just my opinion based upon how well this at work for me I definitely would recommend

I wasn’t sure about what headset to buy and then I started to know more about the Gold Wireless Sony, with this headset you hear all everything clear and it’s comfy. very easy to install.

Previously, I had the old Gold headset, which was great but had structural issues. After that, I got a Steelseries which was a total disappointment and returned it that same day. I decided to buy this New Gold PS4 headset, and I will never deviate again. Not only is the sound superior due to virtual surround sound, but you can also adjust between sound/chat levels. Sony greatly improved the structure on this model, so I have zero issues with it. Hands down the best non-VR gaming headset for PS4 (get the Platinum headset if you play a lot of VR).

I decided it was finally time to replace my 7-year-old PS3 Sony Wireless Headset. Its battery life had dwindled down to almost nothing and the leather material on the ear cups had completely flaked off. As a gamer and tech enthusiast, I've stayed current on the headset market. I have experienced my friend's PS4 Gold headset and PS4 Platinum headset; both of which had issues with hinges breaking, suffered from connectivity problems, and weren't an upgrade in regards to comfort. Disappointingly I couldn't justify switching from my PS3 set without more value, or at least fewer problems. I turned to the non-Sony world of headsets which included Astro, Razer, HyperX, and SteelSeries. All models from $100-$300 were compared and considered. While there are a lot of great headsets out there, each seemed to have it's own quirks and negatives that led to them being dropped from the list. (The ones with great battery life lacked surround simulation, the most comfortable sets had poor mic quality, the ones with the best audio only offered full surround sound on PC, some that almost seemed perfect required an external audio module that utilized unique software and drivers that were plagued with failed updates and a lack of support, etc). While I was content with the performance and features of the PS4 Gold/Platinum that carried over from the PS3 ones, I was hesitant because of the flimsy construction. All of the Gold headsets I ever used had broken hinges, so they were an absolute no. Just when I was getting ready to purchase the Platinum model, a pre-order popped up for this "New Gold" version. Since they both had the 50mm audio drivers that I was after, it seemed like the only difference was that the Platinum has true 3D audio (only Uncharted 4 and Horizon Dawn?) and the New Gold only has simulated surround, which has always been amazing. My headset never leaves the gaming room so there was no need for the collapsing feature. The New Gold eliminated the hinge and only came in a fixed construction, which seemed perfect for my use. I eagerly picked them up from the store and started unboxing right away. As I pulled them out, my first impression was that they are LIGHT! The weight drop from the PS3 to PS4 Gold/Platinum was minor compared to this New Gold version. My second observation was that the headband was completely covered in the same leather material as the ear cups. At first I was nervous since the primary reason for replacing my previous set was because of this material deteriorating. But I reminded myself that it didn't start until after 5 years and that my friend's Gold/Platinum sets weren't yet having those issues. I put them on my head and quickly realized that Sony finally achieved the right balance of secure and firm fitment while being extremely light and comfortable. One of the main issues with the Platinum headset is how uncomfortable the headband shape and materials are for extended periods of gaming. This New Gold just fits and feels perfect. The button layout was intuitive and the tactile sense felt great. It took all of about 2 seconds to get it set up, which is expected from these Sony headsets. My core games are Overwatch and Gran Turismo Sport, which both sounded absolutely amazing. My team confirmed the mic quality was perfect. I'd say this New Gold headset is the best Sony has ever released. And compared to the rest of the market, it's the best all-around PS4 headset for under $300. I'm very happy with my purchase, no regrets or buyer's remorse, and recommend them to anyone considering!

A very good pair of gaming head set crisp clean sound and works wirelessly or wired

I love my headset! I bought a black pair for my husband for Christmas and he loved them. So naturally i had to get myself a pair. I absolutely love them! The audio quality is amazing. I can hear everything! It also cancels outside noise so all you hear is your game which is amazing. I would definitely recommend this product. Definitely get your money worth. I absolutely love mine.

I had some Sony gold headphones a few years back and the dongle broke so I decided after a few years to bite the bullet and buy some more. Welp these gold headphones feels extremely cheap as if they really focused on maximizing their profits and using cheaper material. Overall same functions as last set and gets the job done.

Ok so long story short let me save youh the time I spent. I bought and tried all the top end wireless headsets in the $99-150 range. YES EVEN ASTRO A20. As far as what you can get for the price on a ps4 buy this. You get a game to chat rocker so you can mutww your friends quickly and hear t bose footsteps to take the win. EQ options through the headset companion app free on the psn store. (Seriously quick and easy to set up) Gets loud, sounds crisp, hits highs and lows clean. My friend I have played online games with for 7 years says my voice comes through very nicely my neighbor confirms i sound great as well when we play so solid Mic. Easy access buttons. Insanely light weight. Long lasting battery. Around 12 hours. Fairly durable design. Did away with the flimsy hinges like on the v1 and the Sony platinum. Does get slightly warm on the ears once you start you round hour 2 or so. But you should probably take a bathroom or smoke break at that point anyways. I bought this headset primarily because I did not want wires trailing everywhere. I got that with this headset, plus excellent sound quality. The virtual surround sound is great, especially when playing stealth games like Horizon Zero Dawn or Metal Gear Solid V. The headset is comfortable, even when worn for several hours, and the battery lasts through those longer gaming sessions. Another benefit is the fact that this headset works perfectly with my PC, so when playing PC games I can enjoy the same excellent sound. N.B. As someone who does not use voice chat at all, I cannot vouch for the quality of the microphone either in terms of quality or its pick up range. Some reviews I have read said the microphone it is not very good, but that is not something that enters into my consideration personally.

For the price this is a great headset, it’s not too big and bulky and is comfortable to wear for hours of gaming. The sound settings are easy and the sound is pretty good for the price point. The buttons are pretty small so it can be a bit annoying trying to find the mute button at times but once you get use to it you can find it pretty easy. There’s no big mic boom in the way so when you are gaming for hours the headset isn’t even noticeable. The battery has a pretty long life between charges and the headset also charges up fairly quick which is a plus. I’d recommend it to anyone who has a PS4 and is looking for a wireless gaming headset.

I tried a few in store and my buddy's astro A40's before purchasing these. The construction and materials are pretty sturdy. The sound is really good and clarity of chat is great when playing with friends. My friends can hear me perfectly. I love that you can adjust the balance between game audio and chat audio on the fly with button press on the headphones. I have a large head and they are quite comfortable easily wearing them for several hours at a time. Love that I can use them wirelessly or wired with cable included.

I got these headphones to make in game party chat easier on my friends and me. They are super light, so light intact that I opened the box up on purchasing to make sure something was in it. They are also really comfortable. I wear these for an hour or three at a time and no discomfort. My only con is that the buttons (there are a lot) can be confusng. Even after a while I still feel myself fumbling. I still like them, the battery holds up well, I can charge them in rest mode. Solid 4/5

Bought these headphones to use exclusively for the PS4 (also will use the included headphone jack sometimes for phone or PC listening). The wireless is great. Battery life is long. Sound quality is amazing. There's two different modes you can select and certain games will use specific sound files to make your experience better. Price for these is great, getting it on sale is even better.

These sound amazing on the PS4, the surround sound really works and makes games sound better and helps locate enemies. The design and sound quality are great. If you use it on a PC it's still a decent headset with plug and play capability. The comfort is OK but it gets hot if you wear them for more than 3 hours. They feel very durable and have held up well over a year.

These headphones are WAY better than they have any right to be. At $100, their sound quality isn't the best (great for most everyday use tho) the range is decent around my apartment (and reconnect is near immediate), but dual profiles, integrated mic, good battery life, clear voice, good overall sound, and the light weight make these cans punch well above their weight.

I love these headphones! They have a great depth of sound and are super comfortable to wear for long periods of time, cause I'm an avid Gamer that goes on hours long play sessions, and I can easily forget I'm wearing them. The battery is pretty good too, about ~6 hours and an app that you can use to change the settings to suit whatever game/music you want. So I highly recommend it!
