The setup was a breeze, the remote did not work very well with the Insignia TV I have, but works great with my LG. The remote does not have a learning function so if you are off by a function or two this can be annoying at best and useless at worst. Overall, it works well enough that I don't need my TV remote or the PlayStation controller unless I need advanced functionality or need to play games.

Nothing to complain from about this product. It is cross-compatible with TVs / Receivers and is intuitive to use around the house. I have three of these babies at home and use them every day.

The price for this is great, remote works and easy to use and set up. Wish had a backlight. PlayStation button sensitive after you shut off careful you don't bump button or PlayStation will turn back on.

Bought this instead of replacing the gaming remote since we just use this for streaming and blu-ray for the kids since buying our PS4..

This purchase if absolutely necessary if you use the PS3 as I do as my main media hub. It has 100% functionality for any and all apps you can download. The bread and butter though is when you use it for watching DVD's or Bluray's. It works exactly how it should as if it was made as a player primarily. It also took me less than 4 minutes to set up and is now also my main controller for my TV and entertainment system. BUY THIS CONTROLLER!

If you are using your PS3 as a streaming device, this is a must-have. You no longer need to fuss around with the duelshock (turn on, turn off, charge, make sure not to hit any buttons, etc etc....). Being able to turn on my TV. PS3. and Surround Sound from this remote is just awesome. So long to the days of a coffee table full of remotes. If you are considering purchasing something like this, just pull the trigger, its worth it!

This remote has everything I wanted so that I could watch blu-rays, netfix, and other video sources on my PS3 without a regular controller. I really like not having to charge controllers anymore when the batteries die, I can instead just replace them and move on with my movie. It is a great remote in almost every aspect, but it does have a few slight problems. The batteries do not last very long. They tend to be drained in less than 2 months. The battery cover doesn't stay latched for some reason. I have never abused the remote, however, one day the battery cover just didn't fit quite right anymore and now it falls off once in awhile. Lastly, the remote will fall asleep after not being used for several minutes. This causes the buttons you press when waking it up to have a delayed response and the delay can be up to 5 seconds or so. None of the negatives on this remote are any sort of deal breaker. It's still great to have a remote for the PS3 since it's a really great media device and I would much rather replace batteries than have to wait for it to charge from some sort of USB cable.

Not only does it work beautifully with my PS3, it also works with my Sony television. Would most definitely buy again. Only concern, you have to have a controller to set it up. So if you don't have a working controller (and I didn't), it can be a challenge. I ended up being able to use an external number pad keyboard to maneuver through the screens.

The Sony PS3 Remote, Does have a lot of buttons, but it does a lot of controlling for your Sony TV, and your Home Theater Amp, plus it controls the play station 3. Easier to use then the Game controller, Keep the controllers for gaming only. I use my play station 3 for more then gaming off a disk, going on line, more times then not. This PS3 remote: It has all the control functions for the TV remote, including HDMI inputs, pop up menus, settings It has all the control functions for the home theater. amp, including the on screen settings. It has all the control functions for the play station 3 unit, including playing a DVD like a DVD player.. It has all the controls for 3D functions. It's like a four in one remote, I think it's worth the money spent for this ... You have more control of your play station while on line, like watching, streaming movies. Stopping videos, and pause, going to the next chapter, or backing up one chapter ..... much easier and better control then the gaming controller. Works on two AAA batteries. It's 3/4" longer then the TV remote (for size compare) It's great to have this extra for the play station, and I love it. Thanks.

I use my PS3 as a 3D blue ray player so I was using the controller a lot to navigate through the menus and settings. The remote makes life so much easier especially for family members that aren't familiar with the PS controller. I should have purchased the remote a long time ago, definitely worth the money.

ok I have tried using the regular game controllers and just never liked them for the dvd/blu-ray. this gave me the comfort of having a regular controller to use. the olny downside was figuring out how to activate it as you have to know were to go :) heck my house has 3 play stations 3 and we got one for each unit

I love blue ray remote for ps3. It uses batteries. It's like a regular tv remote. Instead of using one of the controllers. It makes life a lot easier when your not gaming. To relax and enjoy some of the other features of the ps3. The remote can be programmed to your tv. So one one remote does all . And you don't have to worry about plugging it up to get charged. The battery last just as long as a regular battery. This is my second purchase of these remotes. I brought one for a friend. Best uses if you have wifi is YouTube.i also have netflix so it's great for movies. Or just using the blue ray disc player it had all the contols for it and it's inexpensive. Best purchase you can make

To clean up the clutter in my entertainment center, I've started using my PS3 as a DVD/Blu-Ray player. At first, I just used the controller for everything. But I finally decided to try this remote out and it definitely feels more intuitive and easier to use when navigating all the options.

This remote easily controls my Sony TV, Sony DVD player, PS3, and PS3 3DTV. Netflix, Blurays... whatever. Now that Sony has added the volume and channel controls, it does everything and it does it all without me ever needing to program it. The only grip I have is that it is hard to tell if it is upside down when I pick it up in the dark. The ENTER and PS3 buttons are both centrally located and both feel the same. I've been using it for a good 6 months now and still haven't figured it out. Guess I need to watch more TV. Anyway, this is such a great remote that I bought a 2nd one for our other setup and a 3rd for a backup (you know they will stop making it if I like it).

Lately we have been using our PS3 mainly as a Bluray player so rather than use the normal controller, I opted to buy this remote...and it does exactly what it should. Works like every other remote out there without issue. While there is nothing specifically innovative about this design, it is functional and is much easier for my wife (who doesn't really play games) to use.

I bought this to replace an older, less known, brand. It works for playing blu rays. I wish there was a button for ejecting but I don't know for sure just yet if there is a function for that. There are probably other uses for it but have not looked into those possibilities yet.

I purchased this product because the original remote control that came with the unit had a broken part on the battery assembly. The price was right as well, and I got a price match. The remote control was easy to set up and works perfectly. I am very happy with my purchase.

My original PS3 Bluetooth remote recently died so I ordered a replacement. I didn't realize that they had redesigned the remote. This one is a little larger that the original but has additional buttons, features, and the range seems to be a little better, although that could just be because the original was failing toward the end. This version runs my TV and the PS3 so I can get through the Netflix menu and adjust my TV volume without changing remotes. I would recommend to PS3 users as it is handy to use from the couch for movie watching and other stuff rather than using the controller.

For days when there is no joy navigating with a stick, this remote allows me frustration-free operation of an old PS3 as a media center/streaming video player (which is what I use it for more than gaming right now). It's Bluetooth, so no tiresome IR to line up, but it just as easily controls an older Samsung LCD. Big fan.

Love this little media remote as it works very well, it is nicely made, and does everything I need it to do and then some!!! Old ps3's and this REMOTE are great for bluray players and steaming devices so get yourself one today!
