To ensure that you are getting the most out of your Sony soundbar, make sure to toggle on the "Immersive AE" remote button to upscale the entire audio systems' performance or run Sound Field Optimization so that the soundbar can calibrate its performance to your environment, and that it sounds like it was engineered to be in your room.

• The Rear speaker plays surround sound as part of the multi-channel sound or processed from the 2-channel sound. However, because of the characteristics of the rear speaker, the sound may be low depending on the playback source.
• Depending on the combination of the setting of SOUND FIELD and input signal, surround sound processing may not work effectively. The surround effect may be subtle, depending on the program or disc.

Make sure to update the software version of the TV for optimum performance. If no sound or only a very low-level sound is heard from the optional speaker, please follow the troubleshooting steps on the link below to resolve this issue:

To ensure sound is being output from both the speaker system and the optional rear speakers, press the IMMERSIVE AE to turn on the Immersive Audio Enhancement function, the speaker system upmixes audio signals, and sound is output from all speakers. For this, you may refer to the guidelines below:

• Depending on the combination of the setting of SOUND FIELD and input signal, surround sound processing may not work effectively. The surround effect may be subtle, depending on the program or disc.
• To play multi-channel audio, check the digital audio output setting on the device connected to the speaker system. For details, refer to the operating instructions of the connected device.

If the issue persists, you can also try performing a factory reset on the soundbar then connect your soundbar to WIFI and do software update on sound bar then connect the SA-RS3. This will also update software on the rear speakers and may help resolve the issue.

The SARS3S plays surround sound as part of the multi-channel sound or processed from the 2-channel sound. However, because of the characteristics of the rear speaker, the sound may be low depending on the playback source. On the soundbar remote control, press the REAR (rear speaker volume) + button to turn up the volume. If Night mode is set to ON, set it to OFF. You may also find this link helpful:

Hi VictorK, thanks for sharing your experience with the Sony - SA-RS3S! We're truly sorry to hear the left speaker is not connecting properly to your Sony BRAVIA Theater Bar 8, we understand how frustrating this may be. Here are some steps that can help you to get both of them working:

1- Reset the speakers, you'll need to press the power button on both of them at same time for 5 seconds and then disconnect them from the power for 5 minutes.
2- Power reset the soundbar, while you're resetting the speakers, you can also unplug the soundbar for 5 min from the power outlet. After 5 minutes have passed, power everything back on
3- Download the Bravia connect app on your phone, and then go to [Settings] - [Wireless Speaker Settings] - [Wireless Speaker Connection]
4- Press the LINK button on both speakers at the same time, the green light starts flashing twice
5- The connection should be stablished successfully and both units should be working with your Soundbar

We regret to hear that you are having a low volume issue with your Sony SA-RS3S wireless speakers. This is definitely not the customer experience we want you to have. If the speakers are still with you, we can follow the suggestions below to isolate and hopefully resolve this issue:

- Turn off the speakers then turn them on again.
- Make sure the right and left rear speakers are connected correctly. “REAR R” is for the right, “REAR L” is for the left.
- If the power indicator on the rear speaker flashes slowly in green or lights in red, try moving the rear speaker to a location near your HTA5000 so that the power indicator on the rear speaker lights in green.
- Press REAR + (Volume) on the remote control of a compatible model to increase the volume of the rear speakers.
- If there is an obstacle between the HTA5000 and the rear speakers, move or remove the obstacle or locate the HTA5000 and the rear speakers as close as possible.
- Play several different content from different sources to further test the audio.

However, if you cannot connect the speakers to a compatible model automatically or you use multiple compatible models and want to specify the compatible model for connecting the speakers, perform the manual connection.
