I have a Sony HDR-CX430V I use for taping live music performances. This mic is a huge improvement over the built-in mics on this camera. When shooting with the mics at their widest angle of separation, the stereo field is quite nicely defined, however, if there are people around you, you will hear more of them, too. Switching to 0 degrees of separation reduces side-chatter, but also squashes the stereo field significantly, though the sound is still better than with the built-ins. Advice: avoid being in the middle of an impolite crowd, get as close as you can to the act while staying in front of the PA, and use the wide-field position as much as possible. Especially for the money, I am very happy with this product.

Works great on my Sony a6300. I was debating over purchasing this unit or a Rode Videomic but ended up purchasing this unit because the lack of wires and external battery. The fact that I don't have to worry about wires and batteries is great. The low noise filter works great for getting rid of AC unit noise or wind. Even includes an output and cable to connect to cameras that accept 3.5mm mic inputs. Couldn't find anything wrong with the product.

I bought this mic to record bands at various venues. I use it on my Sony FDR-AX33 4K Video Camera. I like that you can adjust it to capture a single performer or a whole band. I didn't give it 5 stars because the frequency response on the low end is not adequate to capture all the notes from a bass(did I mention my girlfriend plays bass guitar!). One other lesson I learned is ALWAYS use the "dead cat" when outside. Even the slightest wind will be picked up by the microphone.

great sound quality. Have used this for recording my son's band practice, no distortion.

I wanted a microphone that didn't pick up the loud distortions from my husbands band when they played on stage and the electric guitar and bass were so loud that it made the recordings not clear. The Sony Stereo Microphone is Awesome! Clear recordings and music is sweet!

Great mic, I got it because it's heavily discounted when I buy the camera body. It's way better than the built-in mic of the camera. If you don't do a lot of video it's nice to have just-in case. If you do intend to do a lot video, invest in a better mic.

This is a nice unit for better audio than the on board mice. i like being able to capture the room ambience and point it directly at the source for more direct audio.

I got these on a great deal. The noise cancellation on this mic is great. I use this on all of my videos now and I really don't need a lot of sound after editing on my videos. Life is much easier!

I do a bit of filming and purchased this Sony mic to use in conjunction with my Sony HD camera for an extra boost of volume. Exceptional quality sound! I'm extremely pleased with my purchase and highly recommend it.

Not the most attractive item but functional and definitely enhances the sound quality of recording with the Sony Cameras.

I’m very happy with the purchase of this mic for my Sony RX10 iv (Mark 4)! I chose this one because of the range of coverage. It’s small enough to be put in my camera bag. I got it on sale AND with some Best Buy rewards, so the price was right too.

When i first got this mic i thought it wasn't working so i returned it. Find out my camcorder was not set correctly.

Great mic, but returned because it would not fit my shoe for my camera. It worked through the six audio plug, but I where to attach to my older Sony camera.

The accessory shoe on my camcorder is about half the size of the connector on this microphone. The packaging is not really clear on what models of camcorder it fits.
